I’m glad I’m not the only one thinks or see how the other Rangers, treated her or doesn’t seem to care about her after Jayden left the team.
Because Jaden decided to leave the team and the torch to her sister, then don’t seem to care or knowledge her existence or her feelings they could be hurting her.
But all they care about was Jaden and how they can’t be a team or fights without him and forget that, Lauren is there and they just abandoned and don’t seem to care about her after that once Jayden is gone.
As they just stop acknowledging her as they can’t stop think about Jayden, what’s the worst that they can’t follow in Lauren because she isn’t Jayden.
I mean, how many to say that to her. Even didn’t say that to her face, you can see her in the pain in her face. When she heard that, none of them seem to care that they may have hurt her feelings.
I guess Kevin the only decent person to stay with her, but like you no one seem to be by her side.
As they just got up and abandoned her and just try to look for Jayden, as they didn’t care how much Lauren tried so hard to help.
Didn’t seem to care for her at all.
I’m not surprised at the end of the episode, she only said goodbye to Jaden after she went off on her way. Didn’t wait for the other Rangers to her see off, as they didn’t at least mentioned or asked Jayden where Lauren.
As it shows they didn’t really give a damn about her to asks where Lauren off to.

Appreciate you for making this video, and speaking out on the topic. Many don't give Lauren enough credit, she was an awesome character and had the capabilities to be a great leader. I honestly felt they mishandled her, and they team not wanting to give her a chance just because that attachment they had to Jayden so they treated her like she didn't matter and put her on the back burner. It's like having a mentor, then a new person comes in and train's you you're probably not going to be comfortable with. I believe her skills was far beyond Jayden's as well. Fun fact! in the Power Rangers Legacy Wars mobile game Lauren being the female red ranger actually made in the game and Jayden isn't in it so that shows people out there actually cared and thought Lauren was great so that a good tribute and showing Justice to the character maybe we will see the character downline.

Because Samurai adapted Shinkenger without the cultural context. Plus in Shinkenger Kaoru comes at episode 40 ish, which is usually the final arc where the show would end in a couple more episodes so they really need to wrap things up.
Another one is do Lauren have the obnoxious servant? In Shinkenger they make Kaoru not likeable because she has this obnoxious servant who looks down on EVERYONE, specially Takeru, because he doesn't have samurai blood in him. Kaoru herself is sympathetic but always has to follow strict social norms as the head of the Shiba clan.
In Shinkenger she didn't just go away, she still is there in the background, injured after the failed sealing attempt, hence why she returned the Shinken Red position to Takeru and promote him to be a full fledged samurai

Kaoru's introduction was supposed to be that shake up moment for the team. This was that shake up moment where the royals actually look up to a peasant.
But yeah sadly it never seemed to be conveyed in the PR story... And for that I actually blame it on the omission of the character Tanba. He was supposed to be the lightning rod for the audience and the other characters to hate on Kaoru's take over of the team. I didn’t watch Samurai as it aired, but I remember people talking about it online, how the first female ranger was “not good” or “not done well” (& while I am sure they could have done better at writing for her character and stuff (like you mentioned, her mentor) ) after watching it myself overall I think she was just done wrong by the team in this season. They didn’t give her a chance, and the “Jaden is god” complex in this season is ridiculous. It would have been an excellent scene to have her mentor introduce her, & him tell mentor Gi off for being so focused on Jaden when he had a whole team to mentor. That could have caused character development. Lol.
I do remember Jaden morphing to fight Deker while he was away but I can’t remember if Lauren morphed during that time. I know they had different morphers (since hers was the same as the Japanese morpher - having the brush tip - while Jaden & the others had the modernized version) so it’s possible they pull from the same connection to the grid and that Jaden’s morpher was only made to make people believe he was the true heir of the symbol power.
Another great video! I do wish they had done more with her character & the others growing from her appearance in the show, rather than just say “She’s not Jaden” 500 times. Lol.

@@mightymorphinconspiracythe5024 this time, I don't think the blame is on the stock footage. I mean Samurai have shoot footage using PR exclusive costumes.
The problem is on the adaptation itself, for one PR tried to adapt it fully 1-to-1 but censored a lot of the story points for western kids maybe, resulting in the story is Shinkenger but minus A LOT of stuff. Like the Dayuu and Juzo stories becomes seriously watered down when it's become Dayu and Deker.
Then there's making Jii the Zordon like mentor figure, while in Shinkenger he's just a butler. His connection to Takeru is like Alfred and Batman, and to the other Shinkengers, he's like Alfred and the various Robins.
But for this video, about Lauren I think the biggest problem is the omission of the character Tanba.
In Shinkeger, the introduction of Kaoru is not about "here's a female red ranger", her introduction was about a plot twist that Takeru was a fraud, he's not a samurai, he's not a descendant of any notable family, in fact he's just a commoner used as a bait.
Her introduction was about Takeru being a leader despite not being born of royalty.
And in this plot point Tanba is a very important character as he is the lightning rod that supposed to make the audience hate Kaoru's take over of the team, not to hate Kaoru but to hate the taking over process.
Without Tanba's equivalent in PR, the adaptation makes it as if the Samurai team complain was baseless... rude even, makes it like they treated Lauren like garbage while she doesn't deserve all of the complaints, while in Shinkenger the complaints were justified specially with how Tanba acts, how he look down on Takeru and how he sees the other Shinkenger as subjects that should follow Kaoru without question.

I know comparing Samurai to Shinkenger is unfair, but the whole thing with the Red made more sense in Shinkenger, Red being a literal decoy instead of the spare; I dunno everyone feels nicer because they're put into a truly uncomfortable situation, in PR the whole thing feels more unfair to Lauren.
I'm sorry, but I find Samurai frustrating because they copy way too much of Shinkenger, but change key things; so in the end it feels like Shinkenger but doesn't work in the way the original did. Honestly I wished they would've made more changes to the original, like Dino Charge; I honestly believe Dino Charge is a better show than Kyoryuger, they took many cues from the original but also did their own thing

They always feel like "who's gonna notice" but it was definitely a transition in the way the show was being done.

In this case its so simular that it probably has many issues. But what I don't like is when people write it off without focusing on what it does have. I think in Lauren’s case the fact she didn’t show up till near the end and replaces Jayden until she fails to seal xandred really paints her in a bad light. As for the female red ranger part I feel that they’ve been trying to push it more because of modern politics than a genuine desire for a good character. Amelia had the time to grow and develop before she became the red ranger so I’ll give her a chance in the color

We should always give a character a chance. Unfortunately Lauren wasn't given a chance by her team.
I know what you mean by the political desires. I was worried about that with Amelia. I love her character but I just want them to make a strong female leader if they are going to make one. I think they did a great job with Minh's character and I hope that continues to be a pattern with female leaders. Keep them strong and don't mis represent what they are.

Samurai dropped the ball with Lauren. Super Samurai should’ve been her leading the team. The first season should’ve ended with Jayden getting taken down and injured and the super season being Lauren in charge. PR is ungodly inconsistent with what they adapt and what they create on their own. This would’ve been the best opportunity to make something original with stock footage to support them kinda like later MMPR. Also, her ranger suit is better that Cosmic Fury. In my honest opinion, I think including Lauren had caused a split between the fanbase as some folk seem to take her side just because of her gender. We all know the rangers were used to Jayden cause they fought alongside him from the very start while Lauren didn't get a lot of respect from the team because she just came out of the blue. I also dubbed her the Scarlet Ranger to give her own status as Jayden had always been Red. To me Amelia would be the true first female Red Ranger because we've gotten to know her since DF episode 1. I know you mentioned Charlie as well but you see, Charlie wasn't meant to be female for that's why A Squad Red spoke masculine. She was like a back-and-forth between producers before they were like "screw it, let's use a woman and see how it goes"

    • @goonerOZZ
      @goonerOZZ Год назад

As I mentioned in another thread. Lauren as the adaptation of Kaoru has many things lost in translation from Shinkenger to PR Samurai.
Kaoru's introduction was never about "here's a female red", but rather a plot twist that Takeru was a fraud, that he was a peasant that doesn't even have a samurai blood in him which actually makes him even lower than the kurokos in the social standing in between the characters. This is something that somehow was not conveyed in the PR Samurai. And because this was a plot twist, is why Kaoru (and by extension Lauren) is introduced so late in the series, the audience were not supposed to connect with Kaoru, she was a plot device.
Another thing is that PR Samurai omit the character Tanba. While he seemed to be just a small character in Shinkenger, his presence is important as he was supposed to be the lightning rod for the audience to hate Kaoru's taking over the team. He was brash and rude and looked down on Takeru as if he was just a dirt needing to be brushed away.
Therefore the other Shinkenger complaints about Kaoru as the new red ranger is justified, because Tanba was an a-hole! Kaoru herself then accepted that even though Takeru is from a peasant origin, his strength and leadership is more than capable for him to lead the Shinkenger team, and at that time used her status to override Tanba's objection.
Now because PR Samurai tries to adapt Shinkenger beat for beat, the omission of Tanba makes it so that the other Samurai rangers complain are unjustified and rude, because Lauren was nothing but respectful, like Kaoru was, but the story demanded that everyone complains so they can get Jayden/Takeru back, and the absence of Tanba makes those complains go straight to Lauren.
