I wish Rough Animator was as good as Procreate for drawing. Its so hard to get nice smooth, neat lines and shapes. Even with the 'smoothing setting set to max. This video makes it look easy!
Procreate’s newest update allows you to export your project with the layers as frames in a gif, so apparently you can animate there too. It’s user interface isn’t necessarily the best out there for animation but I think it’s worth a try if you’re a digital artist wanting to try out animation.
its a very rudimentary system. not at all for serious animation, but perfect for just animating something, with the amazing procreate tools at your disposal. this app (roughanimator) or calipeg are much better for high quality animation afaik.
Thank you for showing me this app! I've always had an interest in animation but it always seems so difficult to try, this looks like it could be approachable, especially with use with procreate!

@@nadyaflores5631 flipaclip is a pain to use. begginers animators should start with computer apps (which are way better) since computer is probably the device they are gonna keep using.

2.Rough Animator is severely lacking in tools to make animating less tedious.

@@mralbobo8609 things like easily grouping animations, animations inside of animations otherwise known as symbols like adobe flash cs5 and a wider array of brushes and layers just to name a few

maybe make the body bop/rock top to bottom or back and forth a little while walking. so it doesnt look like its walking in the same place. cause it looks like its either trying to dig a hole in the ground with its feet (probs to cover its poop), or trying to swim. idk thats just what i think, just a constructive comment passing by. k cya.

Adarsh Kumar certainly but it doesn’t mean you have to give up. If you have the motivation to do animations even it is hard and takes too long, i’m sure you can do it.

I am a animator and I’ve used the app flipaclip since June of 2018 and oh dear. When I saw this app I thought it was freee, but instead it was 5 dollars. I was upset and cried lmao
Honestly dude it's worth $5 if you're using *Flipaclip* this app may not look like it from this video but it's a HUGE upgrade
Yeah, not to mention Flipaclip has a watermark. I would save up, it’s only 5 bucks.
Very cute, I have that app too, one thing to recommend it’s to put the pencil in the mode draw inside, so you can make that outline more easily but again good draw, good animation, good video

Alex Munch Oh, yeah, you’re right...but that’s still fast for me. It would take me much longer. I’m pretty sure I have ADHD...I certainly did as a kid...I have a hard time concentrating on anything for as long as this would take. This is why I don’t really excel at art things...I lose interest too fast. Of course, I’m a teacher, so being hyperactive serves me well in that capacity. But drawing all of those frames??? Wow. That would take some serious patience. People who are dedicated to projects like this...MUCH respect!
sign543 True. Funny how you mention ADHD since I have ADD (the same thing but without the hyperactivity) my ADD allows me to hyper focus on things I love, like art. But it’s almost impossible for me to focus in my Math and Science classes. I do agree that it’s tedious work to draw each frame, but it isn’t all bad if you use programs like Adobe Animate. I tried this half of a semester in my CTE class, and I was able to use motion tweening (the program automatically generates frames that transforms the first drawing to the second drawing, giving the illusion of an animation.) After having experienced computer animation, I have respect towards full time animators.

I would assume yes, my suggestion would be to do eyes on a separate layer last. First start with the body movement and after those movements are done, go back over it and do the eyes in.

It can be used on any Apple iPad or does it need to be a specific one?

David Chase Dude just work at it. I did something similar in my CTE Class for a few days with Adobe Animate. It was tedious, but turned out great. If a 13 year old girl can do it within a 45 minute time period, I’m pretty sure you can do it too.

They made this process look so much easier then it actually is, animation is tedious and if you do it for to long you get kind of sick of it. They really did amazing with animating for so long and keeping it looking so nice.

Just get the base ipad. It will give you less layers but the experience is not very different. I have both the pro and the base model but I use the 2018 ipad 6 the most because it's got most of my files since I carry it around with me all day and leave the pro at home in case I get robbed or I drop it.

I don’t think there’s a limit on layers, but if your animation gets a minute long, you’ll have to stop.
