I've been so upset how judges have been calling out wrong edge for Yuna's 3F-3T in the 2008-2009 season, when IT IS CLEARLY a inside edge take off on the flip. Yuna Kim being the legend she is, didn't come to play and upgraded it instead to 3Lz-3T, now judges won't call it a wrong edge because her textbook lutz is just chef's kisses
If ISU had been as strict as they were with the Queen, then skaters nowadays would have stepped up their game and performed with grace, while executing the technical side of the sport well ..
I think medvedeva certainly has qualities to become the latest queen, but this flutzing needs to stop before that. Judges need to do their jobs right to stop these controversies.

Thank you. Please make this to many Evgenia skating result. She is very talented and amazing skater but she got those marks too easy while making many mistakes. How come this is happening?
Elena Molihua, Yuna chose not to include the triple loop after 2008-2009 season because she couldn't land it consistently. However, Evgenia continues to execute a triple flutz without any penalty. If she is going to plan a triple lutz, she better start doing it correctly. She and quite a few other skaters are lucky that they are not penalized because Mao used to get penalized all the time to the point where she took the 3Lz out of her programs until she restructured her technique. Nobody should claim to do one thing, but then do it incorrectly without any penalty. Although, the technical panel needs to do their job because they're the ones that let some skaters get away with it for whatever reason.
Elena, It's not her fault at all that the competency of the judging and tech panel (whether they lack education or have conflict of interest) is not up to par. But it also doesn't help clean up the sport. The truth is that Evgenia (and everyone else that has technical issues overlooked) could still be marked correctly and she would still come out the winner in every competition. I assure you that I have no doubts that all her titles would still stand even if everything was re-evaluated. I would also like to point out that Yuna did not need a triple loop to win, and Evgenia does not need a triple lutz to win. Evgenia has a rare opportunity to redeem Russia's reputation in figure skating. She shouldn't waste it.
...you do realize that Adelina Sotnikova was the first Russian ladies Olympic Champion???And before her only one other Russian lady, Irina Slutskaya, medaled at any of the Olympics? And that most figure skating experts and enthusiasts feel that Yuna and Carolina were robbed at Sochi? and that the Sochi scandal is why so many people don't trust Russia or any super power country (USA, China, etc.) to compete fairly. I don't doubt that Russia is a figure skating power but I think until this decade, the Russian figure skating ladies didn't have the staying power or the competitive ability before. There have been several Russian men to have won and medaled at many Olympic events whereas you cannot say the same for the ladies. My attitude is objective. Yuna was the first internationally, dominant figure skater from South Korea. And South Korea has not come up with another quality figure skater like her yet, so of course people aren't waiting for another Korean to come out to start watching figure skating again.

In fact, I specifically said that she is the first quality figure skater from her country and that nobody is waiting for another top Korean figure skater to start watching figure skating again. Nobody has the right to abuse any person for things they are not responsible for. However, people have the right to give constructive criticism even if it appears harsh (Dick Button was critical and harsh, but he called it as he saw it). I think Evgenia is quite adorable and lovely, if that helps you be open-minded enough to know that I'm also not Korean. She handles herself well. And I hate to tell you this, but a lot of the world is unkind and even the nicer spectrum sometimes have mean streaks. There are few people that have all the grace and composure in the world despite the hatred thrown at them. I have done my best to be part of that kinder spectrum but I am not one of those few angel-humans. You need to learn to pick your battles. I chose to respond to you because I believe that while you are defensive about your nation's skaters and reputation, you can still see that the rest of the world's view who will not attack you for your nationality.

So many skaters nowadays, especially the Russians, have a flutz. This is not hate directed to anyone, but merely pointing how much the ISU let flutzers get away with it. You rarely see such technicians like Yuna Kim nowadays, let alone technicians that combine it with grace and artistry perfectly, moreover she was so consistent. She was probably one of the last skaters with proper technique that was scored high enough to become an (double) Olympic champion. The only Russian I know that has an outside edge on her lutz is Liza Tuktamysheva, Aliona Kostonaia also has decent technique but her lutz edge is shallow and she sometimes flutzes as well

Yeah, she is overscored because she's being favoured right now by the judges. But, nevertheless, she still deserves the titles she has currently. Yuna was amazing...truly one of the best figure skaters I have ever seen. To this day, I still miss watching her skate. However, she's no longer competing so I think it's best that we stop bringing her up to analyze other skaters. They're all unique in their own ways. :)

Ahaha very true! In my point of view, Evgenia should be the first Olympic Gold medalist for Russia in ladies figure skating, not Adelina. She's a genius in this sport. A true gem for Russia :)
꽃은 Well Adelina did very well in Sochi, but didn't deserve the scores she received. I still love the sport, even though the judging is often biased and unfortunately figure skating had always been and will always be involved in politics. There are many good junior skaters and senior skaters right now. I try to not think about the scores they get and just watch their performances.
Actually, the video is wrong in that it says Medvedeva should only receive -2 or -3 for her wrong edge and that's it. She jumps three flips in the same program (one wrongly declared "lutz") so the last of these jumps should receive zero points, making her total score a lot lower still. Either apply the Zayak rule for every skater or don't apply it at all. A flutz is technically a flip, so if you are already jumping two flips in the same program, one of these three jumps is worth zero points.
@@anika5094 Sure, but Medvedeva and her coach know very well that she doesn't have a lutz, and so does every single judge. So by jumping a flutz - which is technically a flip - she is abusing the system which allows her to jump three flips within the same program, i.e. she is violating the Zayak rule intentionally but she isn't punished for it. This in itself should have forced the ISU to change the rules so that Zayaking is not possible in any way. And that's not counting the fact that Medvedeva's flutz is never called anyway. A called flutz results in a lower base value and low GOE. Medvedeva's flutz was never called for like 3 entire seasons at least, and she always got high GOE for it on top of the full base value. Judging by her scores only, she has the best lutz ever in the entire ladies' field. Rules that allow a situation to evolve like this are bad rules. It's disgusting. But we all know that the rules are only changed if they give Eteri's skaters an advantage.
@@anika5094 Basically we have a judging system that forbids Zayaking but at the same time allows it as long as you mask one of the three jumps as a different jump. A flutz is a flip. There is no difference except for the set-up of the jump. As a jump flip and flutz are 100% the same. Medvedeva also adds the full-blade and 180° prerotation to her flips and toe-loops which makes them technically a loop. Technically, all her jumps are loops. That means if she jumps 7 triples then in a fair world 5 of them should get disqualified. That's only fair when there are other skaters who jump each jump differently according to the text-book.
@@russki1978 As an elite skater I can for sure tell you that jumping a flutz feels a hell of a lot different than a flip. They are the same jump by what the blades do, but the upper body is completely different.

Besides, Evgenia's flip itself is also flawed in every way so it doesn't even matter whether she's jumping a flutz or a flip. Neither of them deserve the base value much less high GOE.
Right now , ISU organization going to die . Medvedeva have many error technical jumps. I'm convinced there's something going on with Eteri behind closed doors. Every single skater she's coached has made the same exact flutz mistake and they are not edge called. The only exception is Elisaveta and that's only because she's ridiculously good at jumping in SPITE of Eteri

I am not hating Evgenia but after checking most of her performances almost none of her lutz is right. Even from her junior performances. I really hope she can change her lutz. Is there anyone can tell her, she has made mistakes for long time. JUST PLEASE CHANGE BEFORE OLYMPIC. I think she has been given advantage for so long time while others work so hard include in mental side by being called while Zhenya was not. At least if no one can beat her because she is the greatest in this era now, at least she still get edge called. She cant be awarded world break record every time she skates while still maintain the wrong jumps and underrotation or anything whatsoever. Please Zhenya, please show us you are the real queen in this era. I think ISU judge has something to tell the truth. They know somthing they dont want to talk about.
As long as Russia has mafia dictatorship over the panel of Olympic judges we will not have a fair championship. It's always sided in their favor. And it's truly disrespectful to all the young women who participate in this sport.
Also, I think in addition to negative GOEs, there is already a rule on the reduction of the base value to 70% of the base value of the lutz/flip jump if done on the wrong edge. so her flutzes should at least get 3-3.5 points in comparison to the base value of the triple lutz which is 6.0
This video is so good. It's the fault from the judges, not from Medvedeva. But this is so strange, the ISU cheats only by the russian figure skater. And when I think on the last Grand prix from Anna Scherbakova and Alexandra Trusova, they are good, but they are definitely overscored. The young asian figure skater, they have a soo lovely jump technique, and they are so underscored! #ripisu Figure Skating is such a beautiful sport, but with the ISU it doesn't make fun anymore.
I wish they would just not give any points for wrong entries. I mean that's not the jump. It's not an official element. Also that way skaters like Evgenia would HAVE to learn to do them correctly. I think if her coaches would work with her on good technique, she could do it but because bad technique gets rewarded no one even cares about it. Of course skaters are getting worse and worse if there are no rules anymore.

The athletes are definitely not to be blamed. The judges and tech panel aren't doing their job. If they give the proper feedback, of course the athletes will improve themselves. Mao Asada worked on her lutz and Yuzuru Hanyu worked on his flip as well. Even Yuna worked on her flip after edge calls. I'm sure Medvedeva is working hard on her lutz now at the new camp. The tech panel has been calling it this season.
I mean its relatively simple to fix a flutz , you just have to pick the ice either straight behind the skating leg or crossing/ to the outside of the skating
The lutz jump is already been removed in 2018 and replace it to flutz instead because it gives higher GOE like Evegenia !! Rarely seen anyone who do outside edge anymore except a few who have done it at the same base point value and GOE as those who do flutz.

Evgenia does make mistakes and she doesn't get penalized as much compared to her fellow athletes. But, I think that using Yuna to make her seem like she's a bad skater is rather harsh and unnecessary. And I do think it's alright to discuss her scores and the fact that she may be "overscored", but having this video to make fun of her really isn't respectful.
But honestly not only Evgenia flutzes, some amount of skaters do that as well and they are still not penalized, so the fault is both judges' and the skaters'. I don't think this video was made to show that she's a horrible skater but to show that she makes a mistake but judges don;t care about that. Also it's not her fault that she's overscored but rather the judges' who hand out world records and huge scores like candies recently.
gwirith14 the creator of this video has made a series of videos that mocked Evgenia and used Yuna to do so. I know that this video shows how Evgenia is being overscored, but making multiple videos that diss her athleticism is unacceptable. There are other skaters who make the same mistakes as her; yet, the creator in this video only picked on Evgenia on many accounts.

She's been favoured a lot over the last couple seasons so I'm curious to see if she will actually get deductions at Pyeongchang. After all, Korea was and still is very upset about the Sochi scandal. Making a video like this comparing a figure skater to a figure skater is going to enrage fans from both sides, you shouldn’t start harassing a skater just because they did the same performance and couldn’t do it perfectly as the other skater. And telling a figure skater that they’re “lutzless” isn’t going to help the skater either, it’s going to hurt their feelings. Do you know how damn hard it is to even jump in ice skating? I wasn't very familiar with the term "Yunabot" until now. I can see why you said that. I do think that Evgenia deserves high scores, but I'm not sure if I agree with extremely high record breaking ones. I don't think it was because of Yuna that I thought that Evgenia didn't deserve her scores; for me, it was more like I didn't like the fact that she wasn't being penalized for mistakes on edges, etc. If she gets penalized and still breaks the records, then so be it. But it just seems unfair to the other competitors if they get penalized and she doesn't...
That's why Evgenia does so much tanos - not only for milking points on her good jumps, but also to get positive GOE on jumps she has a problem with like lutz. And judges don't encourage her to fix her edge problems with handing out world records.

I've been so upset how judges have been calling out wrong edge for Yuna's 3F-3T in the 2008-2009 season, when IT IS CLEARLY a inside edge take off on the flip. Yuna Kim being the legend she is, didn't come to play and upgraded it instead to 3Lz-3T, now judges won't call it a wrong edge because her textbook lutz is just chef's kisses
If ISU had been as strict as they were with the Queen, then skaters nowadays would have stepped up their game and performed with grace, while executing the technical side of the sport well ..
I think medvedeva certainly has qualities to become the latest queen, but this flutzing needs to stop before that. Judges need to do their jobs right to stop these controversies.

Yuna chose not to include the triple loop after 2008-2009 season because she couldn't land it consistently. However, Evgenia continues to execute a triple flutz without any penalty. If she is going to plan a triple lutz, she better start doing it correctly. She and quite a few other skaters are lucky that they are not penalized because Mao used to get penalized all the time to the point where she took the 3Lz out of her programs until she restructured her technique.
Nobody should claim to do one thing, but then do it incorrectly without any penalty. Although, the technical panel needs to do their job because they're the ones that let some skaters get away with it for whatever reason.

It's not her fault at all that the competency of the judging and tech panel (whether they lack education or have conflict of interest) is not up to par. But it also doesn't help clean up the sport. The truth is that Evgenia (and everyone else that has technical issues overlooked) could still be marked correctly and she would still come out the winner in every competition. I assure you that I have no doubts that all her titles would still stand even if everything was re-evaluated.
I would also like to point out that Yuna did not need a triple loop to win, and Evgenia does not need a triple lutz to win.
Evgenia has a rare opportunity to redeem Russia's reputation in figure skating. She shouldn't waste it.

And that most figure skating experts and enthusiasts feel that Yuna and Carolina were robbed at Sochi? and that the Sochi scandal is why so many people don't trust Russia or any super power country (USA, China, etc.) to compete fairly.
I don't doubt that Russia is a figure skating power but I think until this decade, the Russian figure skating ladies didn't have the staying power or the competitive ability before. There have been several Russian men to have won and medaled at many Olympic events whereas you cannot say the same for the ladies.
My attitude is objective. Yuna was the first internationally, dominant figure skater from South Korea. And South Korea has not come up with another quality figure skater like her yet, so of course people aren't waiting for another Korean to come out to start watching figure skating again.

Nobody has the right to abuse any person for things they are not responsible for. However, people have the right to give constructive criticism even if it appears harsh (Dick Button was critical and harsh, but he called it as he saw it). I think Evgenia is quite adorable and lovely, if that helps you be open-minded enough to know that I'm also not Korean. She handles herself well.
And I hate to tell you this, but a lot of the world is unkind and even the nicer spectrum sometimes have mean streaks. There are few people that have all the grace and composure in the world despite the hatred thrown at them. I have done my best to be part of that kinder spectrum but I am not one of those few angel-humans. You need to learn to pick your battles. I chose to respond to you because I believe that while you are defensive about your nation's skaters and reputation, you can still see that the rest of the world's view who will not attack you for your nationality.

So many skaters nowadays, especially the Russians, have a flutz. This is not hate directed to anyone, but merely pointing how much the ISU let flutzers get away with it. You rarely see such technicians like Yuna Kim nowadays, let alone technicians that combine it with grace and artistry perfectly, moreover she was so consistent. She was probably one of the last skaters with proper technique that was scored high enough to become an (double) Olympic champion. The only Russian I know that has an outside edge on her lutz is Liza Tuktamysheva, Aliona Kostonaia also has decent technique but her lutz edge is shallow and she sometimes flutzes as well

Yeah, she is overscored because she's being favoured right now by the judges. But, nevertheless, she still deserves the titles she has currently. Yuna was amazing...truly one of the best figure skaters I have ever seen. To this day, I still miss watching her skate. However, she's no longer competing so I think it's best that we stop bringing her up to analyze other skaters. They're all unique in their own ways. :)

Actually, the video is wrong in that it says Medvedeva should only receive -2 or -3 for her wrong edge and that's it. She jumps three flips in the same program (one wrongly declared "lutz") so the last of these jumps should receive zero points, making her total score a lot lower still. Either apply the Zayak rule for every skater or don't apply it at all. A flutz is technically a flip, so if you are already jumping two flips in the same program, one of these three jumps is worth zero points.

@@anika5094 Sure, but Medvedeva and her coach know very well that she doesn't have a lutz, and so does every single judge. So by jumping a flutz - which is technically a flip - she is abusing the system which allows her to jump three flips within the same program, i.e. she is violating the Zayak rule intentionally but she isn't punished for it. This in itself should have forced the ISU to change the rules so that Zayaking is not possible in any way. And that's not counting the fact that Medvedeva's flutz is never called anyway. A called flutz results in a lower base value and low GOE. Medvedeva's flutz was never called for like 3 entire seasons at least, and she always got high GOE for it on top of the full base value. Judging by her scores only, she has the best lutz ever in the entire ladies' field. Rules that allow a situation to evolve like this are bad rules. It's disgusting. But we all know that the rules are only changed if they give Eteri's skaters an advantage.
@@anika5094 Basically we have a judging system that forbids Zayaking but at the same time allows it as long as you mask one of the three jumps as a different jump. A flutz is a flip. There is no difference except for the set-up of the jump. As a jump flip and flutz are 100% the same. Medvedeva also adds the full-blade and 180° prerotation to her flips and toe-loops which makes them technically a loop. Technically, all her jumps are loops. That means if she jumps 7 triples then in a fair world 5 of them should get disqualified. That's only fair when there are other skaters who jump each jump differently according to the text-book.
@@russki1978 As an elite skater I can for sure tell you that jumping a flutz feels a hell of a lot different than a flip. They are the same jump by what the blades do, but the upper body is completely different.

I'm convinced there's something going on with Eteri behind closed doors. Every single skater she's coached has made the same exact flutz mistake and they are not edge called. The only exception is Elisaveta and that's only because she's ridiculously good at jumping in SPITE of Eteri

It's always sided in their favor. And it's truly disrespectful to all the young women who participate in this sport.
Also, I think in addition to negative GOEs, there is already a rule on the reduction of the base value to 70% of the base value of the lutz/flip jump if done on the wrong edge. so her flutzes should at least get 3-3.5 points in comparison to the base value of the triple lutz which is 6.0

This video is so good. It's the fault from the judges, not from Medvedeva. But this is so strange, the ISU cheats only by the russian figure skater. And when I think on the last Grand prix from Anna Scherbakova and Alexandra Trusova, they are good, but they are definitely overscored. The young asian figure skater, they have a soo lovely jump technique, and they are so underscored! #ripisu

I wish they would just not give any points for wrong entries. I mean that's not the jump. It's not an official element. Also that way skaters like Evgenia would HAVE to learn to do them correctly. I think if her coaches would work with her on good technique, she could do it but because bad technique gets rewarded no one even cares about it. Of course skaters are getting worse and worse if there are no rules anymore.

The athletes are definitely not to be blamed. The judges and tech panel aren't doing their job. If they give the proper feedback, of course the athletes will improve themselves. Mao Asada worked on her lutz and Yuzuru Hanyu worked on his flip as well. Even Yuna worked on her flip after edge calls.
I'm sure Medvedeva is working hard on her lutz now at the new camp. The tech panel has been calling it this season.
I mean its relatively simple to fix a flutz , you just have to pick the ice either straight behind the skating leg or crossing/ to the outside of the skating

The lutz jump is already been removed in 2018 and replace it to flutz instead because it gives higher GOE like Evegenia !! Rarely seen anyone who do outside edge anymore except a few who have done it at the same base point value and GOE as those who do flutz.

Evgenia does make mistakes and she doesn't get penalized as much compared to her fellow athletes. But, I think that using Yuna to make her seem like she's a bad skater is rather harsh and unnecessary. And I do think it's alright to discuss her scores and the fact that she may be "overscored", but having this video to make fun of her really isn't respectful.
But honestly not only Evgenia flutzes, some amount of skaters do that as well and they are still not penalized, so the fault is both judges' and the skaters'. I don't think this video was made to show that she's a horrible skater but to show that she makes a mistake but judges don;t care about that. Also it's not her fault that she's overscored but rather the judges' who hand out world records and huge scores like candies recently.

I know that this video shows how Evgenia is being overscored, but making multiple videos that diss her athleticism is unacceptable. I wonder that too, but if some junior ladies from Russia (like Zagitova) turn senior to compete at the Olympics, Evgenia might find herself threatened on her own Russian field since Zagitova is so much better than her, even at tanos. However it is Korea, and if the judging should be similar to that that was in Sochi then the Ladies' event might become quite interesting. I really find that term "Yunabot" quite bothersome. I hope you don't mean all fans of Yuna are "Yunabots" because it seems to me that that has a negative connotation. There are fans of Yuna who respect and admire Evgenia, even if they do not completely agree with her scores.
Of course I didn't mean that. But nowdays people call even a normal fan of Yuna a Yunabot, because of no reasons. Or if you don't agree with Evgenia's score, you have to be a Yunabot, because obviously there are no people who don't like Yuna as well as Evgenia -_-
I wasn't very familiar with the term "Yunabot" until now. I can see why you said that. I do think that Evgenia deserves high scores, but I'm not sure if I agree with extremely high record breaking ones. I don't think it was because of Yuna that I thought that Evgenia didn't deserve her scores; for me, it was more like I didn't like the fact that she wasn't being penalized for mistakes on edges, etc. If she gets penalized and still breaks the records, then so be it. But it just seems unfair to the other competitors if they get penalized and she doesn't...
That's why Evgenia does so much tanos - not only for milking points on her good jumps, but also to get positive GOE on jumps she has a problem with like lutz. And judges don't encourage her to fix her edge problems with handing out world records.
