In the 80s I used to buy quality men’s blazers at Goodwill and pin in shoulder pads. LOVE.

I had someone snag something out of my basket when my back was turned trying on in the aisle of a Savers here in Phoenix. I was SO shocked. She had teenage daughters with her and they looked so embarrassed that I just couldn't say a word to the woman. If she wanted it THAT bad she could have it. But I looked at the oldest girl and rolled my eyes.... I will never forget the sad look she gave me.... Oh my goodness that poor Kid!!!
Never ever enter a thrift shop looking for anything you have in mind. I usually buy something very different in the end lol

I love the blue Gucci bag but the $2,100 price tag for a 2nd hand bag is 😱 I shudder to think what the original price was. I think they had a Hermes bag in that colour also which was gorgeous. They had a pair of blue Bottega mules in that colour as well which would look so good with the head scarf you were wearing.
I started thrifting in the 90's, it was not yet trendy and there were very few consignment stores: I found a Gucci bag and my friend found a Louis Vuitton for a few dollars. Both were well worn but still!!!...

Bleaching is actually super easy and fun...that way you can get any colour denim and end up with white OOAK shorts.

Karen I can,t believe the price of these two blazers! Wow good that you bought them. Wish we had some of these kind of stores here in So Cal. They might be in LA, which is about an hour north from where I live.
Can confirm. In the hip neighborhoods in LA, the thrift stores can be up-priced, but there are still good spots. My latest addiction is the LACC Swap Meet (every weekend), if you are willing to wade through a lot of stuff. This weekend's score was a Dior blazer for $15!

First, "Can you see Harry?" I panicked! Saying to myself what happened to Michael? Had to view this vlog 2 times to see "Harry"!!! Your skin is beautiful & we would never have seen Harry. I simply love to go shopping with you & you are so right in encouraging us to shop the men's department. I have had a beautiful wool camel blazer with leather buttons, for 30 years. I wish I could wear more men's blazers but I am too curvy at the moment to do so. About the hand bags for you trip... really liked the large multicolor, mirrored bag for a tropical like vacation & would probably take the smaller straw bag for a change.
Yep to that Boho Tan bag for $39.99.And yes that rug from Housing Works was very pretty. Yes the Arc lamp is iconic, so many replicas made. That heather gray blazer looks great on you...Color/Fit on point( loved your persistence to find it...lol) And yes, that neon teeshirt underneath will b so cute against the masculine of the blazer. I had a woman follow me for 20 minutes hoping that I would put a vintage faux fur cape back on the rack….nope it’s hanging in my closet waiting for fall and winter to happen

Be careful of the real real - I’ve seen a few videos lately where they’ve sold fakes and been very difficult when it’s brought to their attention, including 3 sets of authenticators declaring it not genuine they still relisted for sale. I urge everyone to avoid and always double authenticate preloved items
Yep, I had a prob with them. Taking authentic bags, saying they are not real and returning fakes to customer who were dealing luxury items.
And their prices....ouch....unreal.
Oh dear! I bought pre-loved jewelry from them and felt so confident in it because of the authentication documents. Now I’m a bit concerned!

This happens to me too, you go to the higher end spots and gush over the design of the items yet, what you do actually end up buying costs less than dinner for two. 😸😸

from what i remember from an article in the National Post (a newspaper, here in Canada), farro is an ancient grain that originated in the Middle East and thought to have been brought to Europe by the Roman Empire. it's similar to barley and full of fibre and protein. it's chewy, with a nutty flavour that apparently goes well in both sweet and savoury dishes.
IDK if you know this about Housing Works, but pre-pandemic, they had these Buy the Bag events where they opened up their warehouse early on a Saturday morning. They give you a paper bag and you go through bins and boxes of stuff, fill it up for something like $20. They usually announce it on their website. I've been a couple of times and found some incredible gems. You should definitely try it the next time. Bring a friend, because it's a lot of fun.

Have you thought of doing the "WHAT ARE PEOPLE WEARING IN NYC" series in shorter but more frequent videos? The guy that does these videos in London grew to almost 1MIL subscribers because he's been uploading the videos everyday.

I have thought about it. I didn't want to push myself to make more and more of them within a month and possibly jeopardize the quality of the content because I want to make more. I shoot and edit them myself (for now) and it's alot to take on at least for me with other things I have going on off camera so it's about how much bandwidth do I have know what I mean? I would need to hunt down and test video editors who have the exact same vision that I have for editing for continuity if I were to up the frequency. Each video takes weeks for me to shoot and days to edit and I think finding someone that is EXACTLY like me vision wise is tough I think? and viewers would notice the change in the editing and feel of the episodes immediately? Maybe I will try if I can come up with a way. Thank you for saying!! I will have a think 🥰
