    I like everything about the 240 except the 16" draft and the fuel consumption. World Cat 235 has a draft of only 9"!! That really makes it dual purpose. And Tarpon River has the edge on fuel efficiency with the hydrofoil.

    You should go ride in an eastward 2400. Dave east used to own part of twin vee. My personal opinion about twin vee is cramped interior only boat worth looking at is the 340. But eastward makes a battle wagon that’s huge inside

    Thanks for the details... How does it run at trolling speed (7-8knots)... is there considerable hull slap and that speed? Do you have info on how it would turn with twin 115s? Do you know if there is space to put a good 1kw sounder somewhere? I’ve had a twin vee skiff since 1998... l am considering an upgrade but did not look at twin as the finish has improved I was told costs went way up... but the numbers I saw in the video are a LOT better than I thought if the finish is as good as all are saying... give me a heads up as you seem undoased. Cheers and thanks.

      I think trolling well depend heavily on the conditions in regards to hull slap. Catamarans only general turn great. This one turns better than my 26. Much better than any mono hull. Cornering however is different in a cat. It’s like driving a car, instead of a motorcycle (monohull) as you know. The finish on the new Twin Vee’s is legitimate. The numbers in the video on the high end are for 25th anniversary edition. Low end with 115HP. Not sure about the sounder I know that I have been advised against it in the past.

    • @CaptPeterson
      @CaptPeterson  4 года назад

      Don’t think that sounder would fit. Maybe with a little glass work. It’s a weird angle.

      @@CaptPeterson You MAY be able to mount one on a bracket at the rear of the sponsons depending on the clearance to the engines that is. Although that wouldn't help much with looking forward

    How does it do if there is short period 5ft swell and 2 foot wind waves?

    I'm moving to a canal community in Port St. Lucie and looking for a boat. I primarily want to run to the keys, but will want to go to Bimini and Nassau here and there. Would this be big enough to make that crossing?

  • @terryfonz4603
    @terryfonz4603 4 года назад

    Better than a monohull maybe but that flat bottom in the middle of the sponsons is gonna slap in a 3-4 footers.

    • @CaptPeterson
      @CaptPeterson  4 года назад

      At some point yes. If you back off the throttle you may be surprised how soft cats ride. If your taking them head on your mostly right. At 45 degrees not so much. With a following sea you can go pretty fast without hull slap.

      You should do a review on the tarpon river botworks 24ft cat with a foil and stepped hull.

    For that kind of money I would get a custom built Calcutta 263. Much bigger boat.

    • @CaptPeterson
      @CaptPeterson  4 года назад

      True, you would also wait about 2 years to get it. I am a big fan of the Calcutta 263. I wish they would have had one at the show.

      I believe you can get them for just under $90,000 with 115hp Suzuki’s on them. The one in the video is a special edition and goes for like $125,000 give or take. It is so nice!
