It was an absolute stroke of luck that Jacksonville cut him, and we were able to claim him off of waivers. He will be a Jet for life if he wants.
And I just didn’t see him refining his game like this. Ever. What a player he’s become
Another stroke of luck that he was mediocre last year and we signed him for cheap right before he broke out
It’s in the coaching (Robert Saleh).He never would’ve been able to develop in that dumpster fire that was the jags a couple years ago. Robert Saleh was the linebacking whisperer for those years in jax before he moved to San Fran and then to the Jets with you guys. His best year in jax was actually his rookie year, the last year that Saleh was in Jacksonville.
As a Jags fan, I liked Quincy and wanted him to develop in Jax. However, Robert Saleh leaving didn’t do Quincy well. IMO, Quincy is a great talent, but Saleh is an even better coach (I think you guys like him too?)
EDIT: way wrong about Robert Saleh. Did some unintentional revisionist history since he became the 49ers DC in 2017, not in 2019 as I remembered. Sorry about that.
@@Cardiaccat98we do. Some people were mad at him after the team collapsed down the stretch last year, but Robert Saleh is the best coach we’ve had for a long time
@@brycemattson4913great coach for us people don’t realize we didn’t get the results fast because our roster wasn’t quite ready. But last year and this year we have a lot of talent so we’re seeing how good we can truly be. All were missing is another WR and a QB that can score and we can win most our games

I always liked Quincy because of how hard he hits. But seeing him become just an all around stud has been a treat. We got him for pennies and he's one of the biggest reasons we're still in the wild card race.

My god do I wish I found your channel sooner. I’m now 21 but I’ve been a fan of the jets all my life, and was even at that giants game, a ton of this stuff whether it was Zach Wilson during that game or Quincy as a linebacker, I miss a lot of this, so seeing how this talent is performing when it so often is overlooked by media and stats truly is remarkable, and makes me proud to be a fan of this team. Continue to keep up the awesome content, let’s go Jets.

Man I love Quincy. First time he truly popped off for me was in 2021 against the Titans - He was one of the only players that could manhandle D Henry like that. Back then, I was like: Who is that fucking beast on the Defense??! And I believe he will keep getting better. Scary!!!!

He might already be the better of the two Williams brothers, crazy as that sounds. He’s playing like Ray Lewis in his prime. Jets are freaking lucky to have two all pro caliber players at their respective positions.

I laughed so hard at the bar when Quincy ran through that Giants receiver on that screen play lmao. Dude is such a beast. He reminds me of Demario Davis who was equally an athletic freak, but Jets let DD walk before he made the leap to an elite LB. Glad we stuck with Quincy while he took his own leap to greatness
The amount of elite players we had on D this year is pretty absurd. Sauce, Quinnen, Quincy, Huff. Can’t remember the last time we had that many game changers.

I liked how on 1JD Quincy spoke about going to CJ and talking about how he wanted to take the next step in his game. Clearly the guy has the drive and ability, and props to CJ for helping him improve. As you said, that contract seems like a great bargain now. I think we as fans focus too much on the negative and on the past sometimes because during the off-season a ton of talk was about if this LB group was good enough. Now we have a top 5 duo at the position.
Jets better pay Quincy his fair share. Well done!

100%. Last year I didn’t think he was even the Jets best LB2. Amazing splash plays but so inconsistent.

I agree , I remember seeing film on #56 & #57 and how sometimes they were to aggressive, filling the hole to early , over pursuing, that is gone, I can't believe how much better both are this year, Amazing, two players feeding off each other! I love his clip on his mind set, he thinks like a cheetah, how he prepares for a game and as he's playing, pretty cool!! My favorite jets defense of all time , not sure if they have a weak link ,at any position ! Thanks Luke, as always!
