Yay, silver dollar city!! I love going there during the Christmas season. They deck the place out with lights and have a Christmas parade in the evening. They also have delicious hot chocolate in mugs! I’m glad you made it back safely to your family!
I really want to go back to Branson again but with my wife and kids this time. Maybe ill take them there for the holidays after reading your comment! Thanks Anna!
hey WokenGeek. Thanks man. your comments do me a lot of honor my friend! I hope you get you dream job one day. If you move to Urbana IL you can apply at my office and maybe we can hire you on LOL. We are hiring
Just found your channel this morning, it is super!! Watched all 3 of your Branson trip. I actually live here now. I met my wife in April of 1983 while I was driving a city bus in Terre Haute, Indiana, 2 and a half months later we got married. Moved to the Branson area in 1999. The Raddison Hotel is where my wife worked at and I actually worked at the Walmart where you parked and went to eat sushi. How did you like driving across the wonderful Kimberling City bridge? LOL The Dogwood Canyon is actually owned by Johnny Morris whop own Bass Pro shops. They recently acquired a rare white buffalo calf. I believe they have somewhere around 10,000 acers there. At The College of the Ozarks, there is a museum there that has the old Beverly Hillbillies original truck from the old television series. When I was a manager for Walmart, we would hire kids from College of the Ozarks as interns and they would get college credits for it, but they still also had too do their chores at the college as well. I know of 3 interns that actually became store managers within 4 to 5 years which is unheard of!! Next month is one of the biggest months here in Branson. The Branson Veterans Task force puts on a week long Veterans Day Celebration. Huge parade with flyovers, etc. The entertainers here go all out for the veterans and their spouses. About 10 years ago and purely by chance, I ran into a guy that I had served with 50 years ago. Needless to say, it was quite a tearful accidental reunion. You hit the nail on the head when you said Branson is like Vegas without the casinos, we hear that a lot. It's all about family and veterans here. Maybe you can bring your family here someday. If you make it down this way, give me a shout out. You can contact me if you do by leaving a comment on one of my videos. I REALLY liked how you compared the catfish to Kim Kardashian.
This was a great read thank you for taking the time to write this. I love reading stories like this. Bus drivers tend to have lots of great stories. If you ever find yourself near Urbana IL and let me know I would love to go out and grab a bite to eat.
You certainly know how to enjoy a turkey leg! 😀 My XL-II always belches out fuel every time I fuel no matter what speed that I have the nozzle set. I fill under neath the nozzle with paper towels but some still runs down the side no matter how careful I am. I learned your parking trick many years ago with a smaller motor home and I also learned to make sure you don’t leave even enough room for a motorcycle or some idiot will park one there. Unlike you, I cannot back up more than two feet with the toad behind.
Thanks Gerald. I love a good turkey leg. Yeah I bet having the toad behind you makes it harder to back up. I am assuming a Toad is a trailer of somekind?
On your next trip, take the coach up to Minneapolis, Minnesota, there is Mall of America, with an amusement park right inside. The best hotel to stay at is Country Inn & Suites

Not sure how I stumbled onto your channel, but I like it! I work a lot with first responder hockey teams and transporting them and their families across the state for various charity events and games. Our bus drivers are always top notch and couldn't get from point A to B without them!
Next time if room allows try being closer to the fuel pump and hold the nozzle. I've had that problem when I drove Transit bus. As for your parking spot, yes, there are definitely idiots that will try to park in front of you. I drive truck and have parked like you did and still got parked in. A bit of advice about parking at Walmart. Some are not allowing anything but cars to park there and will put a boot on your bus that can cost upwards of $700 to get removed.
Ah, man. I love sushi! We have a couple sushi buffets here that are pretty good. Those cinnamon rolls looked so, so good. I remember when my dad would drive, he would take my sis and I to theme parks. So much fun! Thanks 4 sharing, great work!!
After all that boring food, I was hankering for a change just watching. I’ll bet that sushi was a nice palate cleanser. Not sure I’d trust sushi or sashimi from a state so far from the ocean or an international airport. What did you get? What’s your go-to roll when you’re on the road?
Yeah it was a welcome change lol. Pretty good considering it was in Branson. I would have never thought there would be a good sushi restaurant in Branson lol
I remember you saying you moved from China when you were young (in that video about innie and outie wheels). What food here was the biggest adjustment for you when you first encountered it? I wouldn’t have touched the grits personally unless I was desperate.
I think the biggest adjustment was how clean and orderly Americans kept everything. In China Back in the 80s and 90s everything was filthy and poluted... Its a little better today but still far from what the US is
Ok, FANTASTIC VIDEO JAMES! The best part of the video is your greeting from the girls and cat. Don’t get me wrong I miss it sometimes but the last 30 seconds is why I’m not a bus driver anymore. I do think the way you cleaned off that turkey leg you should change your name to Fred Flinstone! 👍
Hey James! Love your name by the way. Yes you are absolutely right. That is the hardest part of my job. Sometimes that aspect makes it hard to fully enjoy the trip I'm on. It so nice to be home with them. And yes Ive been told that my ability to clean the bone is second to none. LOL
A great video series James -- well done! I made the trip to Branson many times but never enough! Definitely my favorite place in the country. Sight and Sound Theater is amazing. Next time you go to Branson, be sure to check out McFarlans and try their fried green tomatoes and sweet potato fries. Just down the hill from the strip on the red route.
I just did a 3-day Branson trip and I did enjoy it! What hotel did you stay in? My group stayed at the Savannah House hotel (3 mins from Sight and Sound) I hope to see you one day while we are out on a trip!
@@JWangvlogs I wouldn't say its a standard but im so used to seeing drivers use gloves where im from here when we fuel and especially when we chain up in the winter. Nocr to prevent your hands from getting dirty!
This was an awesome 3 part Vlog.. The wife and I really enjoyed it and can't wait for your next trip. BTW, your not alone with taking a quick diesel shower.. The hose broke off the pump on my at TA truck stop.. I can laugh about it now...
LOL It seems to be a common thing with Buses. So many people have told me that! LOL. Thanks Redjaguar! i appreciate the kind words. Please say thanks to your wife for me as well!
James it's the Turkey Lake that will put you to sleep not the bread pudding brother. Turkey is an aphrodisiac it'll make you drowsy and sleepy that's why a lot of people sleep really good after having Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.
How are you not 30stone in weight or not having to pull over for a nap with all the food😂😂 Loved this series of videos in Branson, well done and thank you James🚍
Great question. One on the right is my phone. I use it for GPS. One in the middle is our Electronic Log Device. It keeps tracks of our hours of service. One on the left is the camera system
Good question. Every bus company will have their own policies of what a driver is allowed to use as far as personal equipment goes. Peoria Charter does not provide gps units but does not prohibit drivers from using their own. The only rule is we do not allow drivers to have the voice directions turned on. It has to be muted.
I’m not a charter bus driver but maybe the reason the nozzle didn’t stay in is because you’re parked far from the pump? Not familiar with the area either so not sure how tight the turn was to get into the fuel spot
Hey Michael. Yeah the way the parking lot was designed. It was very hard for me to make that turn where i could be closer. Plus getting out of there required such a tight turn that I did not want to tail swing the pump. I was far from the pump you are right.
If its more than a 9 hour drive. we have relief drivers that will van out to a mid point where we can switch out with them when the 1st leg driver gets there. but for Branson it was just a single driver!
There were never any age restrictions on any tour I drove for but, you need to discuss the itinerary with the tour company. The primary customer for bus tours are retirees, so the activities and food choices are designed with this in mind.
Thank you. You are fortunate. ! She is cute too I’m sorry, one more question. You are from another country but speak very good English unlike many immigrants from other countries. Do you speak still multiple languages or do you only speak English? Many people I know who are from another country, they struggle some when speaking so it’s almost like trying so we have a a challenge trying to make out what they are saying. If English is a second language for you, you speak English very well and don’t show it. It’s trivial, unimportant but i was curious if you do speak another language
@@ralphbrown1053 I was made in China as Iike to say. I came here at a young age. I can still speak fluent Chinese as well as German and Russia languages.
Actually, that picture in my profile is my little Grace. I don’t pay much attention to my profile details but, yes, that is her. I don’t like my picture taken at all so I use vehicles or Grace as profile pictures instead. I have a question for you about the buses, how long does bus companies usually keep the buses until they send them off and replace them? I imagine that with diesel engines, the buses can go considerably further than the average car. A tractor, from an 18 wheeler goes over 700,000 miles on a single engine. The current story is that automakers are not allowed to sell or make gas, diesel operated vehicles after 2030 something but I understand that besides the many complications involved in switching over because well, you can buy gas, you can buy diesel if you run low but many areas don’t have the pumps to recharge these electric vehicles and garages when they need repairs??? I also understand someone asked a power company employee their take on electric cars and they said that the poles can’t take that much power. Our system can barely manage the electricity that we depend on every day to power our homes and the businesses. We would be completely in the dark with no power if we all depended on the power grid for our vehicles. Personally, I don’t think running those buses and tractor trailers on electricity is a good idea because batteries are too easily compromised beyond our control in so many ways. I think that the change is fascinating but highly impractical. Maybe for personal use, for people who don’t commute far but again maintenance would be a serious problem. I hope and expect that the president will dismiss that demand for electric vehicles. Anyway, for diesel buses, how long does the bus company keep a bus in the fleet before they retire or trade it in? You were talking about an older bus which is still in your fleet, I imagine that it is still there because it hasn’t gotten to that maintenance threshold where it is too expensive to keep and maintain yet. Obviously since you work in the office now, you know more about than I would. Many companies, that is why a vehicle is removed and they are frequently hand picked as they get too expensive to keep. Sometimes I ask myself why not just replace the engine, the transmission, those things are much cheaper than replacing the entire vehicle but we worry about someone’s appraisal of our property. I do the same, somewhat. I like many different vehicles and get bored with just one. I love your truck. I’m not a Toyota fan but it’s a nice looking truck and for you, it’s really it’s a nice truck. I love that you got a standard too. Your wife no doubt appreciates that you take that yet I also know many women who like standard over automatics too. I know an older woman who is a semi truck driver. She will only drive standard for her personal vehicles but at work she jumps in the tractors with automatic transmissions. I had to ask another driver about that so I wouldn’t offend her accidentally. Turns out that the clutch is so different that it might be too difficult for her. Personally, I think she is plenty capable but that, I will never know. It must bother you sometimes to stay in the office when you enjoy driving the buses. It’s great that you drive them and help run business. I know many companies, the office people are not licensed to operate the equipment so that causes some issues when they don’t understand what the employees go through sometimes. It’s great to have that experience under your belt but it also must suck if you are not driving yourself when that is what you really into, not the gripping from multiple people, the faxing, filing, payroll, office, secretarial related stuff
@@JWangvlogs Inappropriate, private time with food. I had a chuckle over that, unheard of. I have never in my life ever thought someone enjoying their food was inappropriate and certainly don’t consider it privet but some people are different. Not different as in I would consider it privet just some have different ideas of what privet is. I’m happy that you really enjoy your food. That was different for sure

Loved the series!
Thank you John Wagner!
I just did a 3-day Branson trip and I did enjoy it! What hotel did you stay in? My group stayed at the Savannah House hotel (3 mins from Sight and Sound) I hope to see you one day while we are out on a trip!
Hey Trey! We stayed at the Radisson. How was your trip? If you ever find yourself near Urbana Illinois hit me up. Stay safe!
love these so much james. another banger video! But I must ask, do you not use gloves when fueling up?
Hey Danny. Thanks man. No i do not. Is that a standard? most of our drivers do not wear gloves during refuling.
@@JWangvlogs I wouldn't say its a standard but im so used to seeing drivers use gloves where im from here when we fuel and especially when we chain up in the winter. Nocr to prevent your hands from getting dirty!
9:23....dripping with sarcasm 🤣
@J Wang love the bus oh keep up the good videos
Thank you so much Kevon!
Could you have a nap in the bus while waiting if you wanted to?
Yes absolutely. I do it all the time.
After watching your videos how do you handle handicap ♿ people in an electric wheelchair? I enjoy your videos.
I actually did a video on that on my other channel. ruclips.net/video/VfazQOraUHI/видео.html
Damm that leg looks good...
What are the three things mounted on the dash/windows?
Great question. One on the right is my phone. I use it for GPS. One in the middle is our Electronic Log Device. It keeps tracks of our hours of service. One on the left is the camera system
You should have gotten a wash along with the bus! 😀
I tried but their giant roller machines were broken and it would have taken a long time. So i settled for a dump and I swept and mopped the inside.
@@JWangvlogs well, at least you had a chance to take a dump. 😀😀
@@johnp139 LOL good one!
How many cameras do you use?
Just 2. One for the road and one for walkign around. Sometimes I put the walking around camera on the dash to face me to get some driving shots.
Nice video but i need to know how to put on satellite on my phone so i know where I’m going
As a cross country truck driver I eat lots of truck stop food
James isn't it a federal law that you cannot refuel a bus with passengers? I know at my company coach USA that's where I heard that from
I think it is. We never fuel with our passengers onboard.
Who sing that song
So you are allowed to use a gps unlike the greyhound drivers?
Good question. Every bus company will have their own policies of what a driver is allowed to use as far as personal equipment goes. Peoria Charter does not provide gps units but does not prohibit drivers from using their own. The only rule is we do not allow drivers to have the voice directions turned on. It has to be muted.
I’m not a charter bus driver but maybe the reason the nozzle didn’t stay in is because you’re parked far from the pump? Not familiar with the area either so not sure how tight the turn was to get into the fuel spot
I thought he was a little too far, but maybe there was a reason.
@@stevepackard8542 same here...also learned a valuable lesson...never stand directly in front of the filler ;-)
Hey Michael. Yeah the way the parking lot was designed. It was very hard for me to make that turn where i could be closer. Plus getting out of there required such a tight turn that I did not want to tail swing the pump. I was far from the pump you are right.
@@JWangvlogs I don't think anyone was busting your chops on that. Great job on the videos!!!!
Ok. Like I said I’m not a bus driver so I didn’t mean to criticize.
Why is there a McDonald's Manager putting a hose in the coach bus the one In the blue shirt and cap
When you do these trips you have a backup driver?
If its more than a 9 hour drive. we have relief drivers that will van out to a mid point where we can switch out with them when the 1st leg driver gets there. but for Branson it was just a single driver!
@@JWangvlogs was you tired?
Are young people allowed to go on these tours or is it just for the old folks?
There were never any age restrictions on any tour I drove for but, you need to discuss the itinerary with the tour company. The primary customer for bus tours are retirees, so the activities and food choices are designed with this in mind.
There is no age restriction. Anyone can go. You can contact our travel agents and book one of these trips with us.
HOW did y do your log book
We have elogs.
Is this white only park??
Who sing this song
Would you stay by Mindme
What’s your cat’s name? Boy or girl?
She's a girl. Her name is Kiska. She is 18 years old.
Thank you. You are fortunate. ! She is cute too
I’m sorry, one more question.

Inappropriate, private time with food.
Hi anybody can help me how can I apply for job with this company I’m British citizen and I would like to move to usa as bus coach or truck driver
