- It seems like all the news you hear about RUclipsrs now a days, or ever, is bad news. Whether it's a new scandal, controversy, or bit of miscellaneous drama - it's a LOT. It can be very disheartening as a Creator to never see the good from our industry be recognized. I'm not looking for praise, but I want to take the time to recognize what my fellow Creators have done over the years to give back. From PewDiePie to Markiplier, Jacksepticeye, Super Carlin Bros, Mr. Beast, and so many others, RUclipsrs (and Twitch streamers too) have done SO MUCH GOOD! Yeah, even though others can absolutely point at this video and try to write it off as an emotional rant (which is nearly always a sign of personal ineptitude of how to handle the situation) and point it out, nobody can invalidate his evidence / findings (anyone up for that challenge?). Although one or two are videos that got their place from their popularity, most music creators and late night talk shows pay RUclips to be in the trending tab so that they get the immediate attention they believe they deserve

He really is very inspiring. Whenever he makes a video there is always a heart and a brain behind it. He does not cut corners and puts in his 110% into it and not only him but his team as well! He never has made a shabby or quick video to just to gain views. He is always sincere and thought provoking. He is a truly passionate person who cares about the best for everyone.
Matpat you are an influencer and have a big impact with all of your viewers! Whether it be a game theory, film theory or your live streams. You are a person who does make a difference.

Don’t worry about ranting. It’s the best part. It shows you’re passionate about what your saying and I’d assume a lot of people on RUclips and the wider internet share a lot of your opinions. When you put out the first ‘ranty’ video I enjoyed it, but wasn’t sure of it was the kind of content I wanted to see on this channel. But now that you’ve done a couple of these I think they’re great.
Basically what I’m trying to say is: please do more rants on topics that you’re passionate about and you think need changing. You’ve got a lot of influence on this site

My wife & I are very much old enough to be your parents and we enjoy all your channels! I just got out of the doctors care today, and my wife is still laid up. Ironically, nothing to do with the pandemic, just other types of health issues. I know you have a background in neurology so you can understand how much fun type four ALS is. So trust me when I say that your channel along with a few you mentioned and several you didn't make me smile, make me laugh, and help me get through some really rough days. At some point i think that these youtubers should join together and try making their own experimental company deal.
Just have a closed discussion at VidCon or some event where all the creators decide to make a company similar to youtube, but also similar to PBS where their whole place was run by donations and they all just up and leave youtube(google) at once. announce this new huge company idea. Do the same thing they do here but could get real credibility. youtube would lose almost everything because most people who watch are not Companies but people wanting entertainment and youtube would become just a company microphone and the content creators will shine without a filter on them.
Ignoring the fact that youtube is technically the largest legal shield that everybody has against copyright laws though, BUT the youtubers could make their own shows like they do on youtube red

The reason hes doing this is that he's been make a lot of mistakes and doesnt know how to learn from them, he thinks hes being attacked for no reason. Mat pat called undertale a dumb indie game and said he doesnt post links to indie games in his channel. He was called out by toby fox and soon followed the internet.
This example is more old news but, he tried to do a "overwatch vs tf2" and used the WRONG image of a demoman, said tf2 was worse because there were no female characters, and had no idea at all how the tf2 as a game worked

He does. Both Mat & Steph do consulting work for major brands and corporations for their advertising on RUclips but the problem is these companies aren't listening. Watch their GTeaLive episode where they talk about the most recent adpocalypse. They've mentioned that corporations are just too prejudiced to see past what the media tells them about big RUclipsrs.
RUclipsrs are never taken seriously, that’s always been the problem.
And when they are, it's usually just because a joke they made ment to be funny, this is why I dislike media apps like Facebook and Twitter, there mostly (again, MOSTLY) populated by ignerent retards with no proper knowledge of reality and it feels like they WANT to be ignerent.

It's their opinion, and they aren't aware of what being a RUclipsr actually is. One thing in making gaming videos in RUclips is that you need to make your videos entertaining enough for the people to enjoy. Even though, attention is what makes a RUclipsr famous. What blows my mind is that older generations need charity galas where they are thrown an elite free party, with an auction where they will for SURE get something out of their donations like a prize (or at least a fancy night out) before they even CONSIDER donating money (which they already have an abundance of). But the youtube fans don't have much to give as young adults/teens but still give out of their hearts usually with nothing in return SOLELY becauseTHEY WANT TO HELP. What hes saying is irrelevant to why gamers are lower tier influencers though. Charity is irrelevant. It's all about the ad revenue and business generated. Gamers and their audience dont interact with ads like other people in different genres. Gamers are generally younger and have less money than people watching other forms of entertainment. This is why ad cpms for gamers are lower and why a lot of companies dont put their ads on gaming channels.

What I didn't realize about myself until after watching this is that all of the good things i do, have plans to do, or wish i could do come from RUclipsrs. For example, The Hacksmith RUclips channel made engineering sound like a fun career path for me in the future. Jaidenanimations, Somethingelseyt, TheOdd1sout, Katzun and more inspired me to work on my art and animation. Jacksepticeye's extra long charity livestreams inspire me to give. MatPat teaches me and inspires me to look deeper. And just in general, RUclipsrs indirectly make me a happier and better person.

In a recent video, misophonia was mentioned and described in a first-person recount. Sure enough, I did my research and realized what I was dealing with was valid and had a name. I honestly felt like sobbing in relief because I finally figured out what's wrong with me, and what litterally haunted me for my entire life. I was so sad for years, thinking my crazy thoughts on how little mysteries in games can lead to big things. I was so scared to even simply talk about playing those games, let alone my depression and anxiety that weigh heavily on my life just tear me down, these channels gave me an outlet, a lifeline when I needed it most, thank you matpat. Thank you and your team for giving me a leg up in recovery
RUclips hates the gaming channels because it wants to be TV. Anything that would be out of place on network television is frowned upon.

The problem isn't advertisers. The problem is the dinosaurs of traditional media who are ready to pounce on any story that could hurt RUclips, online influencers, and social media platforms that threaten their existence. Advertisers could care less about what negative/positive things happen on RUclips, so long as it doesn't hurt their brand image. So if you want to change advertisers' minds, you have to change traditional media; and good luck with that.

It's Old media vs New media, and advertisers want to pay less for adverts on RUclips. They're not interested in the RUclips "scandals", they just want to save some money. That's why they're willing to make stuff up about RUclipsrs and usher in a new adpocalypse just to get a better deal on the platform. That's what's actually going on. This is also why I decided to pay for RUclips Premium. I'd rather give money directly to RUclips and RUclipsrs, to keep this whole thing going, than have the whole platform rely on the money of these terrible advertisers.
That's not true. A RUclips ad seen by 5 million people is a FRACTION of the cost of an ad on live TV seen by a few hundred thousand people.

They're keeping that cost down by constantly pulling their adverts from the platform every time there's a "scandle" in order to get RUclips to keep their prices low or lower their prices further. These advertisers are making a killing on RUclips compared to traditional media, and everyone on this platform suffers as a result - the creators, and the viewers too (because more money for creators means more/better content for you).

R. Kelly on CBS has 790k views and it's at the top of trending yet this video has 1.5 million and isn't anywhere to be found
Not crossing out the idea that youtube purposefully did it, but the way the system works is more related to the average views that the individual channel gets. MatPat generally gets 1-3 million views per video, so according to the system it really isn't "viral." However, I'm willing to bet that video has a lot more views than is typical for their channel, so YT considers it abnormally popular and puts it on trending.
What I'm saying is everyone needs to watch this video a hundred times so we can get this on trending, lol
