Planet Hollywood Orlando In Disney Springs Food Review | I Took A Trip To Flavor Town & I Regret It.

- Today I took a trip to Disney Springs to visit Planet Hollywood Orlando Observatory! Planet Hollywood just reopened with a new menu designed by Guy Fieri from 'Diners, Drive-ins & Dives', he's the Mayor of Flavortown. The menu features out of this world burgers and milkshakes. Although I wasn't a fan, I'm sure Planet Hollywood will be a successful addition to Disney Springs. Then we take a look some of the construction updates, such as, Paddlefish (opens 2/4/17), The Edison, & WineBar George. We also found out the closing date for DisneyQuest, which is 7/3/17. I agree with you 100%, his reviews for Disneyland helped us when we planned out our trip and I just came back from Disneyland and I loved the food there compared to food in Disney World, and I think Tim would agree as well. He doesn't sugar coat anything, I was honestly thinking of going here in October, now not so much lol

I kind of wish "pop up Tim" were like a standard option so he could explain other people's videos too.

The captain's area on a steam boat is called a pilot house. There are also wheel houses and bridges.
Very interesting! I didn't realize there were different names for different boats.
That part of the Steamboat where the Captain controls the ship from is called the Wheelhouse. Love the videos, Tim! Keep us updated on Edison; I can't wait to see it open!

Bitchtheman it's Planet Hollywood. That is a business in Downtown Disney. Disney has nothing to do the prices of that restaurant. It's like Disney opened a Sephora makeup shop, but they don't own Sephora. However, Disney is ridiculously expensive.

Tim I love how honest you are. Looking at the menu it seems like somewhere that I would have ended up choosing for our next trip. But glad to know the food isn't worth that price. I would be so disappointed to pay that much for mediocre food when there are much better options.

Went to toothsome about a month ago, and going off of your opinion on their shakes, they’ve definitely made an improvement. Hands down, the best shake I’ve ever had.

The memorabilia in Planet Hollywood is awesome!
Props for being able to eat all of that. I would have made it through the appetizer and been ready for dessert. That chicken looked better than the burger. I think keep it simple stupid is a good thing to follow when making food.
I agree! They are trying to over complicate the easiest meal to make, the burger.
On a River Paddle Wheeler that is called a Pilot House and it is on the Hurricane Deck.

YngMan25 Go forge your own opinion.... Everyone is different and there is a lot more items on the menu.. I loved it!
If it is your only day in Disney Springs I would say try a different restaurant, but if you have the ability to go back multiple times I would give it a chance.

Smart man. PH is junk. There are so many better offerings there. I was more impressed by the dinosaur place, and it was junk too. Boathouse is amazing, though.

Tim, I have been to three Planet Hollywood restaurants over a twenty year span, each time the food was edible, but not good. It was a circus atmosphere and the bill was too high. I am glad to see all of the movie memorabilia, but I think the hype is too much for what you get in service and quality. Homecoming would be first on my list on our next visit.

Love how Planet Hollywood has merchandise just for you! We used to always eat at Planet Hollywood, but haven't heard many great reviews about Guy's restaurants so glad there are a ton of other options there. Walt's place sounds really cool if it's true! And how could they not let Mr. Paddlefish in his restaurant lol?
The merch was so funny because it seemed like it was more for Toothsome than it was for Planet Hollywood.

On my recent visit to Florida I ate at the boathouse thanks to your video the food was delicious
I've just booked my reservation for this restaurant in May. The menu looks great and the pictures of the food looks amazing I just hope it doesn't let me down. If the menu doesn't change I will by having the Prime Time American Kobe and for dessert I'll have the Planet Meltdown 😋😋😋

I love seeing the prices of things so thanks Tim. I'm not surprised how expensive everything is you have to take in the setting and as long as the service and food are good then maybe you can justify it? But personally I've never had a good meal there.
Planet Hollywood used to have those chicken strips at their old restaurant and they are AMAZING!!!

regarding the MN license plate: the owner of the Boathouse restaurant is also the same person who started rainforest cafe and is lives in MN and got the idea from his own amphibious car. Look for an article about him in the Star Tribune about how he came up with the concept of Boathouse. He still owns many properties in the Twin Cities area those are real MN license plates. Because they are functioning cars and could be driven on the road he has to license them to be legal.

When my family visited Orlando we went to DisneyQuest one night and it was awesome! We only got to stick around for an hour or so, but I am still sad to see it go ):

Does any know if Paddlefish was The Empress Lily back in the day when Disney Springs was Buena Vista?
Can you still access Disney Quest with a 14 day ticket. I'd heard that it isn't included anymore and it's not listed on what's included. I can't see anyone paying $45 to go.
Those prices were ridiculous. I remember going to PH back in the day and the food/menu seemed better, and way more reasonable. I feel like Guy Fieri gets his name tacked onto something, and the prices inflate like crazy. Unreal.

I felt like the food did look quite good and you did get lots of food for your starter, but that is still expensive for a three-course meal. As a stand-alone restaurant it doesn't look bad, but agree there must be much better options for your money in Disney Springs. Loved all the extra explanations haha!

Couldn't agree with you more about Planet Hollywood. Went there yesterday and wasn't impressed...definitely didn't take me to Flavortown. Was bummed with the lack of memorabilia too. I liked the traditional Planet Hollywood with cars from movies hanging above us and more items on the wall to look at. Also, there was what looked to be a soft opening at Paddlefish going on last night when we walked by. The cast member out front said it's 100% completed now, but they still had the hedges up, so we couldn't peak inside. Will definitely be checking it out Saturday. 👍🏼
Maybe it will get better? I ate at a Johnny Rockets and had a great hamburger so was thinking it would more like that..too bad.
