oh man i love this plugin. I was working on soldering a new re-amp box from amp sim to amp head. And this sounds great through my fx return of my amp live through a 4x12.
Wow this sim sounds just like my Hotrod 50+ (heavily modded for channel switching and mini toggle switches for voicings, dual stacked concentric knobs for both channels gain/master) , too. I've had mine since 2001, plus the matching Soldano 2x12 cab with V30s. I learned some new tricks/settings from this video too. The clean channel is also great with boost/dirt pedals. I have lots of color options with boosted cleans, almost breaking up sounds, low gain articulated drive etc, and then the lead channel plus pedals really make this amp sing. I always have a compressor, EP Booster, Tumnus (klone), TS and at least one fuzz on my boars for different gain staging and color options. I didnt buy pr use a drive pedal for many many years with this amp, simply because you don't need one to make these amps sounds better or tighten up the high gain.
Leon Todd im not sure. I emailed Mike personally and he said he did not do them. Im in the Detroit, MI area and got the amp thru my friend who got from a local boutique music shop (Motor City Guitar) with huge selections of used and new amps and just about every pedal ya could think of. Theres a few notorious amp gurus in the area, Dean Zink, Danny Blitz (Blitz Amplification/Bletchley Amps), and of course Bruce Egnater, Dave Friedman are from the area, Reverend and Rocktron to name a few. Maybe i should email Friedman or Egnater. Its quite the professional amp mod work.
Glad to see a lot more quality plugs out there. modeling is becoming quite awesome these days I must say. Lots of fun compared to the old days where there weren't a ton of great options for us. Cheers Leon!
I like how you describe the tones you'd like to achieve! Got one of my killer tones on Neural DSP Soldano plugin thanks to you! Cheers, man! And keep it up!

Nice demo, they’ve been releasing their plug ins on iOS recently so researching how they perform. Pretty well as it turns out. Cheaper on iOS too, although ppl are still crying that $20 is too much ... spoilt for cheap music production apps ...
Have you been able to find comparisons between the desktop and the iOS version of this plugin? I love what i am hearing here but am wondering if it sounds just as good on an iPad.
@@EdBMetal Unfortunately not, the Audiobus forum is a good source of information though. Some great people in there. This isn’t really my style of amp but it does seem well executed.
Hello, could you please indicate that you have used the entire signal path from start to finish (Guitar, strings, pickups, DI, external Preamp, interface, signal processing .....?). Excellent tone, presence, creamy and rabid sound friend. Thanks! !

VST's continue to get better and better, but the underlying differences are tied to a) your interface and b) your computer. Can plugins like this satisfy a guitar players needs for record worthy tones? Definitely. Are they on the same level tonally and feature wise as an Axe-Fx III? Probably not, but they are very different products.
Hi. What guitar and pickups have you used for this video? And what brand and interface model did you use? Great sound and great video in general. Thanks.
Leon what do think the best tube amp for under 2 grand is ? One with warm creamy fat tight lead tones . Love the sound of the custom audio pt 100 that I"ve seen Reb beach play but it's too price brand new. The thing sounds incredible. Not sure if it's just because he has it eq'd perfect or what but I can't find anything that sounds quite as good . Fat, warm and has a softness to it.
Thanks Leon. I’m going to have to check that out. BTW, I would really like your thoughts on the new Positive Grid Bias FX 2. I know that you have your reservations about the first version but Positive Grid has put in a lot of work in on it since then. Like you, I am first and foremost a FAS guy, but I have read a lot of good things about the new Positive Grid offering. Thanks again.
Why the hell does it sound so natural hehehehe ..... wow! .. The guitarist is good, but .... what is the secret / s in the signal path? It is not normal for the plugin to sound that good, natural and transparent by itself. Please share this information, what I hear in the video is exactly the tone and sound I am looking for my album. Thank you!
very cool, never heard of this one, was looking for a good Slo vst out of interest what sample/buffer settings / Latency do you have on your DAW ? the quality of VSTs these days is incredible, been using Mercuriall for a while now, and it even convinced me to get a 100w silver jubilee (the AFD sig is too much coin..) will try a demo of this later today Curious on your take on the STL plugins (Will Putney or Howard Benson) the cab sim portion on these VSTs tend to make a huge difference
The cabs are the make or break part of these VST's. Using my UAD Apollo on this one at 48k with the buffer around 128 from memory - latency was very manageable. I did a demo of the howard benson STL a few months back. How are you liking the Jubilee?
yeah totally agree on the cabs, to be fair even older modellers through better cab sims sound a lot better as well, (The Pod HD models for example through better cab sims) could be an idea for a video ? old modellers through better/newer cab sims , given you can bypass the cab sim on those modellers, or various modellers through the same vst usually an interesting test i'll check out that Benson video now, must a missed that one Jubilee is great, i tried the 20watt version as well, but the 100w just slayed it in every way so i got that one locally on the used market, 100 watter was far more present, had more heft to the sound/tone, really juicy gain channel, especially boosted, nails that late 80s/early 90s british hi-gain sort of tone that i grew up on, a lot of fun to play with a very good master volume to boot, the EQ has more of an effect on the tone as well compared to some other marshalls compared to the '83 50 watt JCM800 i have , it's got more juicy gain and chug to it, and you have the extra channel/marshall cleanish tone as well , the JCM800 needs a lot more boosting to get in a similar area gain wise and a looser/warmer feel to it as well
I find cleans are better than crunch/leads... Choptone IRs are a great way to make it less harsh but it still there... BTW had it for €29 so I’ll stop complain :) And use EQs
I just got this and found the lower strings to be muddy when palm muting. I needed to turn the bass to almost nothing and even still. I wasn't getting your fabulous tones.
Tavares Project only his own impulse sounded ok for high gain. You need heavy sounding drop c tuning to match his tone in this video and gibsony set neck guitar. With acdc example he used lots of room reverb in mix and angus sound is one neumann u67 tube mic on greenback cab and second for room.
Out of all the amp sim's I have tried I haven't been able to make any of them sound good . I am taking a step back to look at my gear , it can't be that all of those amps sims I've tried are no good . I usually use an art tube preamp into my audio interface witch is an M Audio delta 1010 . The Fortin's are the only one that didn't need a pre before the audio interface. What would you recommend ? I've watched a number of your videos and you've made your amp sims sound great , where should I go from here ?
Is there anyway if you only have adaptor that allows you to plug your 1/4 cable directly into the sound card that you can hear the sounds as you play while recording? My biggest problem with plugins is that for my limited electronic set up without having one of those di boxes that comes with things like pro tools it doesn’t seem I can hear things like guitar rig as I play which kills it for me.
A typical computer sound card will have 5.1/7.1 output, "mic in", and line in. None of these are the correct impedance for a guitar signal (instrument level, with high input impedance). In you are on a laptop and you only have the combo headset plug, then even worse. Your options would be to buy some sort of converter to go from instrument to line level, or find an affordable audio interface which does that and more. Getting a small interface is a worthwhile investment! Find a used Focusrite 2i2 or something, there's probably even good options cheaper than that.
Direct boxes have their own driver for low latency and vastly better quality. Most latency is in the operating system and drivers. I just bought the 2i2 as there is no other way around this problem
I know most of you don't have the cash for a real one and don't understand this sounds terrible. I can't hold it against ya, but this sounds really bad.
Igor Nembrini is the man of the hour... just got
