  • In this episode i show you around all the improvements i made to the Blacksmith and the Pit Kilns. I show you where i have been exploring on the map showing the things i found.
    We also now have a proper crafting room and we make an extension to the crafting room for mixing things into barrels. Then we build a new Temporal Tower to deal with the Temporal storms and we even get to test it out due to an incoming storm.
    I have used the Vintage Story assets for the thumbnails and music from the assets folder in my videos.

    Perhaps your insignia could be a moon slice, you are the only creator I have seen that does a dream when you sleep. The dreamer...

    One of the easy things you can do for your barrel room is to turn the walk way into a long rectangle of trap doors or chiseled grates above water blocks. This will allow you to continue to walk easily around your barrel room while still having quick access to water for all your barrels no matter where they are. With multiple blocks of water, you won't accidentally destroy your one source of water with a misclick. For areas where you only put down one block of water (like a mini well or sink), I always suggest digging the hole two deep and filling both spaces with a bucket of water for the same reason. You might misclick the first block, but you have a "back up" block of water right underneath it. An issue with chiseling your blocks before you take them out of the stone is that if you use the workbench mod you can make the original piece out of chiseled rock, but to make duplicates of chiseled pieces, you need un-chiseled blocks as your resource material. As for your Temporal Bunker, I think the problem is that you aren't trapping them in one area, they're free to wander or roam about. Most Temporal Bunkers or Drifter Pits are just that, pits where the Drifters can't get away and and continually lured back to attack the Player. Maybe a redesign is in order?

      I agree with the idea to create a new temporal defence base. It does need to trap the drifters so i can easily attack and harvest them. I'll work on a design for this. And thank you for the suggestion on the barrel room too i think that's a great idea i will do it.

      Watching this I was thinking of 7 days to die hord base. Need like 2 ,3 blocks landing area for drifters to get to you, mabey chiseled walls on the side so they can't fall off, and on the back of the landing trap doors you can still reach to click down so the can't run away u can click them down 😂

      @@shaneWARs1 This was exactly a 7dtd horde base idea We have a new horde base now though but this tower base i'm still gonna keep it and try and improve it.

    I've just stumbled upon your video and I must say I am very impressed with the quality of your content, I'll have to watch the prior episodes soon. I've been thinking of buying Vintage Story for a few weeks now but I'm somehow "scared" of playing such games alone, I guess I'll have to finally push myself haha.

      Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy my episodes, it really puts a smile on my face to know that people enjoy watching them. You should definitely try Vintage, and when you do why not try easy settings when you make your game just to give you that breathing room to get used to the game and learn about it. Hope you enjoy it and have fun!

    I can't believe that I didn't think about the chiseling trick to quickly mine full blocks!

    • @Heretoga
      @Heretoga  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah! But if you use the 'Extended Workbench' mod, you can't use chiseled blocks as ingredients, just a heads up on that one ;)

    Those rifts spawning right outside the house can be solved by simply lighting up the surrounding area, not just inside the buildings. A few bowls and some fat for oil lamps would have gone a long way to keeping your general area safe.

    • @Heretoga
      @Heretoga  6 месяцев назад

      In later episodes i do get some oil lights chiseled and placed down, i also have some lanturn posts to make and place down some lamp post around our place i think that would make the area look even better. Thank you Snyper

    Perhaps making a ledge that the drifters fall down in front of the kill zone would increase prevent them from running away.

      Yes, in later episodes i design a new temporal base that has that mechanic

    Really liking this series! Your voice is really calming. I do wish you cut out a bit less, maybe have some long plays where you don’t have commentary?
    Also out of curiosity, how many lives do you have? Or is it set to infinite (I don’t have the courage to set it to anything less in my world)

    • @Heretoga
      @Heretoga  7 месяцев назад

      Thank you that's really nice of you to say i appreciate that. I will try to cut out less in future, i'm currently working on episode 6. I set the world to infinite lives but in the future i could do a permadeath series and in a cooler climate ;) I'll consider doing some 1 hour long episodes although i do prefer to do between 30 - 40 minute videos. Some of the videos so far i usually record between 1 - 2 days and then spend about 3 - 5 hours editing and the odd episode i could spend all day just editing and exporting =)

    why not build a spike pit to drop the drifters into ?

    • @Heretoga
      @Heretoga  7 месяцев назад

      I can do a spike pit eventually, but i'm not ready to go caving just yet not until i get some armour and maybe a proper light source like a lanturn, but caving is on the cards real soon

    will you ever do livestreams?

    • @Heretoga
      @Heretoga  7 месяцев назад +2

      I would love to! I would like to stream to engage with my audience but due to where i live i get alot of power cuts here so it kinda puts me off doing it. I have live streamed once before though. I streamed the last level of Doom 2. I live in the countryside in England in a district called Whitby up on the Moors, i'm about 40 minutes drive away from the nearest town. I always think about doing live streams, i'm quite a genuine person, one day i will pluck up the courage to do it, maybe if i can get to 500 subs i will
