A couple of points i forgot to mention: 1) The action on schecter doesnt go as low as other basses 2) Both these basses heads drop down when standing up and playing especially if tapping (weight distribution). Im not sure if thats just me not holding the neck up enough or if the heads are too heavy and if it goes away in higher end basses🤔 or if a strap with more grip solves this? I dont know if i made much sense with the second point but its just me being picky!
Definitely the Schecter for me. Great video man! Also, 900 pounds for the bass = $1200? The bass in the US new goes for $900. If I were you man, I’d stick with Sweetwater when ordering gear or just double check. Seems like the seller overpriced the bass on you. Still, a fantastic bass and a great video. Just sucks when that stuff happens.
Thanks! I couldn't find the bass anywhere but ebay back then (UK), and it was actually like 750 but I didn't know I had to pay 150 for custom in import fees
@ ahh, okay. That makes more sense. I thought the guy charged you $1200/$1300 outright. Nevertheless, it’s a fantastic bass. I’ve been using the Studio series basses for years (4 and 5 string of the same model) so it’s cool seeing these basses getting some love. I think they’re honestly slept on.
The stingray is awesome and it’s not just a beginner bass. It is something that even seasoned pros use. It has some great tones but the shecter with its 2 soapbar pickups beats it there but it also costs a lot more.
Great playing. I know what you mean by basses that are hard to slap due to distance from body to fingerboard. I got used to both but I'm nowhere near as good as you at slap
I have two basses. An Ibañez gipro single coiled passive. And a Warwick humbucker both passive and active. I love both but Im very attached to the Ibañez gipro with its simplicity and raw sound. It's like 1000 bucks difference between the two. Beware of this Ibañez when it's connected to buzz pedals, it may kill. 😅 Price doesn't mean a thing whenever all that matters is the specific sound you're searching for and your ability to make the bass speak.
I found my stiletto studio 5 to be one of the best builds I’ve ever owned, especially for the 700 dollars US I bought it for in perfect used shape. However I found the electronics weak. I replaced them with active emgs with a better emg preamp and now is punches where it should. Only reason I have it for sale is the spacing is a bit too tight for me.
I wish when bass players demo basses they’d actually play bass instead of guitar. Nobody hires us for tapping and chords. At least include some straight finger picking so we can hear how it would sound in a real world situation as a bass and not just bedroom style jamming you’ll never use on a gig.

I agree with u so much! Price doesn't mean anything I'm still waiting for a bass I connect with!

Bueno por lo que tocaste al comienzo me gusta mas el sonido del Stingray pero me gustan mas los bajos de 24 trastes
👍👍I personally like the tone of the schecter better😊😊
