I worked for a town for 23 yrs good job guys getting him out. Some times it doesnt take much to get into truck trap tough job the plow guys do trying to keep people safe so they can go to work get there kids from school and what ever
I was sent by Eric's channel.. Great video. You showed that an experienced tow driver can always figured out a way to get the job done right. Yes, this was an easy one but you knew what to do right away. Thumbs Up!!! Oh, you forgot to use brake cleaner... :) :)
At first that looked like Glenn Haven Road east of New Hope (on SR41A) looking over Skaneateles Lake. But Avoca is near Hammondsport or off I-390 therefore likely Keuka Lake and about 1:08 there is the bluff in the lake confirming it. Nice job for the town.
Finally ,been waiting for this since you and Eric towed the milk truck.I told him after that to keep buggin you to start a channel.Keep them comming.Reality compared to Hiway thru Hell.
Hi, Daryl! We're at Hack RVA, right now. Your video is really crisp. I get there was a police car keeping everyone that far back. And I know pixel density would have gone to the 24-bit era, if you'd tried to zoom in on the action.
I bet it sure makes someone in trouble feel alot better, knowing help is on the way when you hear them engine brakes barking thru them hills.... Beautiful country up there btw
This is great! So my suspicion was confirmed..you is Eric O’s Brodder. Keep the videos coming when you can and it’s safe to do so. I watch towing programs up here in Canada and there seems to be quite a bit to video these scenes so kudos for doing that...so long as safety isn’t compromised. I look forward seeing more whatever the content. Your countryside there looks great so that in itself will be great to see. Let us know what equipment you are using..wrecker deck, tractor/truck etc. If you have a bit of the talent for videos Eric does, they will be great for sure. 👍 New subscriber here. 👍 👊👋👋 Welcome to the u-tube gang.
Great 1st video and I look forward to the many more that will follow. One question. When you have to tow these guys out is it a flat rate or per mile you have to drive there and back or by the hour. I have always wondered for HD wreaking how they charge
I may be wrong but any wrecker/flatbed i drove you weren't supposed to raise the RPM above 1200-1500 1700 tops. I understand why they're doing it. To speed up the hydraulics and make it pull faster. The problem is when you have the RPM too high it causes the cable to wrap the drum awkwardly. It leaves the cable doubled up and knotted. Any thoughts?
Very cool! I've been a truck mechanic for years and enjoy his automotive videos. I don't happen to do much when it comes to automotive. very likeable guy.
You are to far away from the plow truck , just towing it up the ditch , you could have picked his whole front end onto the road ! One time the plow truck I was part of slid sideways of the iced road, 3ft drop ,the truck frame sat on the edge quite leaned over . I walked a few hundred yds to the highway , got a ride back to our shop & got the JD 544 A & a bucket of sand , came back , spread the sand on the road , hooked a chain on the low side picked the truck front end up set it over , it would slide back so we re-sand , 3rd time stayed , so set it further until we had it about 45* angle on the road , then pulled it on out
Steven Akn1 I tried to be close enough to do what I have to do. but far enough away that you never have to reposition the tow truck. because if you reposition that means you have to unhook. and you never want to unhook halfway through your pull
I can't believe he never bent his wing arms. Pushing back and shelving is when it gets us but he had that pretty before he came up it. I plow country roads as well and I set my wing out farther than most guys for this reason i can keep the truck that extra 14 inches away. That being said buddy has a hard road steep narrow and high crown no fun.
Just wondering why so far ahead ? I have done hundreds of ditch recovery’s. What I’m getting at is control if you were closer and angled your truck you would have more control especially if it would want to start tipping. I’m not criticizing just curious Thanks
both brothers on the tube now we will get great vids from both of you you tow them to eric's shop and he'll fix them for you just sit back and watch eric have all the pain of fixing them for you need to see a video on that that sure get you laughs and a lot of subs for sure thanks and keep going your the best
DOT on your ass to get the road open, freezing cold out, every pull is a life and death situation, fighting other tow companies... oh wait I was thinking of the Coquihalla. lol. Good first vid man.
I don't know how this even happened, why was he anywhere near that close to the side of the road? He has a side plow on that truck, this is exactly what it is for lol.
MASTER OF EVERYTHING they a 25 ton hydraulic planetary winches with an air switch for free spool, and an air tension plate to keep the cable spooled correctly while reeling it in
Beautiful country. I'm like a lot of people who tend to forget theres more to new york, than, new york city. I'm also one of those people who all they now about pulling a vehicle out is hooking a chain to it and go. lot more to it than that.
I'm in NY also, not NYC, and always remind people I talk to for work from other parts of the country "their's more to NY than NYC!!"; Central NY where they are and the Adirondacks are beautiful country!!
yea ya thunk they would put betta compact gravel on side utterwise ya all got this sitiation.but hey we all gotta make a buck now your in competition with your brother.
Your camera guy is in the wrong place. Those cables snap and he's dead. Always get everyone behind the unit or on the other side of the towing unit. That's crazy guys.
DOUG YOU SAID YOUR LEARNING. WORD OF ADVICE. PARK CLOSER TO THE TRUCK YOUR PULLING. ONLY NEED TOBE THE DISTANCE IT WOULD TAKE THE TRUCK TO BE BACK ON THE ROAD . YOUR GO THE JOB DONE BUT WOULD OF BEEN FASTER . PARKED LEFT OF THE ROAD AND CLOSED.
I dont know what it is about peterbilt drivers , but they have to have that jake on no matter what they do . sounds like shit after a high idle pull , its a safety device not a play toy!!!!
Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Just like old times, where's your brother?? I'd don't know.and I didn't lose him! lol
That sweet sound of that Jake brake. Keep the videos coming. Nice job of getting that truck out of the ditch.
I worked for a town for 23 yrs good job guys getting him out. Some times it doesnt take much to get into truck trap tough job the plow guys do trying to keep people safe so they can go to work get there kids from school and what ever

Finally ,been waiting for this since you and Eric towed the milk truck.I told him after that to keep buggin you to start a channel.Keep them comming.Reality compared to Hiway thru Hell.
Now that is what I want to see ,Is that all you got . Great job . I ran a county snowplow for 14+ years . So I've been there .
I think seeing the city guys help, is probably the most work I've ever seen city workers do
Sure miss that NY snow... Just kidding!!! Good job guys!
Awesome video. Have u ever had a line snap. Looks like it could take someone's head off for sure

Great job guys

mike4food by the hour, plus 2.50 per mile if it's over 30 miles

Great video but you left the spoiler in the description! Gotta hype it up and add some suspense haha.
I've heard of the horror stories of those cables snapping and taking out everything in its path. The incline doesnt help that....
Great video. Thank you to all 'sons of Sonny'.
Paul
Good first video. Who is the other voice in the video besides Doug?
Jac McCauley that would be wayne
South Main Auto Repair your brother ???
chevy camaro yes

hell yeah pulled him right out. at first I was thinking why the hell did he park so far away haha now I get it.
Steven Akn1 I tried to be close enough to do what I have to do. but far enough away that you never have to reposition the tow truck. because if you reposition that means you have to unhook. and you never want to unhook halfway through your pull
What did you call that when you said it can adjust load to one side
That house at the stop sign I looked at this summer about buying but was to small, and the stairs were to steep.
say that truck needed towed, do you have to remove the plow, or tow from the rear? looking foward to more videos.. from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania here.
Steve's Auto OSTROGOTH remove the plow I can only tow them backwards if they are empty
I can't believe he never bent his wing arms. Pushing back and shelving is when it gets us but he had that pretty before he came up it. that sucks, good job, good video
By the way.
Where were you guys at? I'm trying to find it on google maps, cause I like to get a look at the area and see what its like.
beautiful area.
Do cables ever snap when winching?
Mike Goodman yes they do, it gets your attention when they do
The snowplow skidded into the ditch? lol.

Haha lmao The Coquihalla
Hi I live in Big Flats NY what lake is that
Shannon Cranmer Keuka
Cheers, Sonny! Subbed you...
You may need a helmet cam (with a wide angle lens) for the future. Free up your hands for some of the scenes.
I don't know how this even happened, why was he anywhere near that close to the side of the road? He has a side plow on that truck, this is exactly what it is for lol.
Probably in a daze looking at the view, or saw a deer off in the distance lol
Thank you again for starting a youtube channel... LOVE the JAKE!!!! Is there a winching brake on the wrecker???
MASTER OF EVERYTHING they a 25 ton hydraulic planetary winches with an air switch for free spool, and an air tension plate to keep the cable spooled correctly while reeling it in
seemed to make short work of that situation
Been there done that. Nature of the beast.
Beautiful country.

Sonny’s service of Avoca and I’m watching this in Avoca Pa.
Good job for the first one. I will come allot more natural as time goes on. Look at Eric's videos, when he first started compared to know.
Up by my favorite place Bully Hill
DOUG YOU SAID YOUR LEARNING. WORD OF ADVICE. PARK CLOSER TO THE TRUCK YOUR PULLING. ONLY NEED TOBE THE DISTANCE IT WOULD TAKE THE TRUCK TO BE BACK ON THE ROAD . YOUR GO THE JOB DONE BUT WOULD OF BEEN FASTER . PARKED LEFT OF THE ROAD AND CLOSED.

Cool video mr other O
0:54 ... that's not an edge you want to fall over
I dont know what it is about peterbilt drivers , but they have to have that jake on no matter what they do . sounds like shit after a high idle pull , its a safety device not a play toy!!!!
If you aint sliding into those ditches, then ya'll just aint plowing the roads!!
Nice sounding Jake.
Did they say More business for you?
I might have said Yup since you snow plowers can’t drive... 😂😂😂
Two youtubers in Avoca? What?
You are not far from Eric O.
Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Where's Eric? Just like old times, where's your brother?? I'd don't know.and I didn't lose him! lol
LOOKS LIKE BULLY HILL.
eric sent me
Unnecessary Jake brake use.
If you pulled him out backwards it would have so much eaiser. You probably could have yanked him out in neutral.
Dean Labbe negative. both plow blades would have dug into and anchored into the hill.
You use your Jake brake too much. Which is cheaper: brakes or a new motor?
