Wait how are you dealing so much damage? To a 120 bear when your are currently lvl 40 or does the bear have low hp bar? If your character is really strong do you mind sharing the build?
If you perfect dodge & counter attack it'll do high damage even if your character is level 1. That's why he was not attacking until the bear attacked him.

what i see is the bear is trying to test your dodging skill, successful dodge + attack parry will damage bear with 8208 hp

Yesterday me and my friend tried killing it I'm also lvl 40 it took us 30minutes lol I would suggest u to use mc intro skill

no matter the level of your characters, dodge counters deal a SET amount of dmg, so you can defeat with lvl 1 characters
