Devin is an incredible singer. Its 100% his voice. Ive been a fan of I See Stars since 2008 and I can tell you they also alot of very heavy songs :D Glad to have you on board ;)
You’ve got a HELL of an ear, Devin is a hell of a vocalist as well, you’re assumption with him using his tongue to annunciate is spot on, there are a few videos of him on here doing some recordings and you can see he uses his tongue a LOT. This new stuff is a lot different from their previous stuff, I’m not the BIGGEST fan of Drift, but Anomaly was wonderful. Their last album Treehouse was absolutely perfect front to back, I HIGHLY recommend checking out their last album.
I’m really into how Drift ends. It’s got this really eerie sound to it which I like but Drift is my least favorite of the 2. I love the flow of Anomaly.
@@tnhalo66 Yeah, after a couple more listens Drift has started to grow on me. Anomaly is still my fav of the two, Anomaly definitely makes the 7 years worth the wait in my opinion.
Treehouse is their best album by far which was extra tough because stopped producing new music since 2016 at their apex. Very light metalcore but their 2013 album New Demons is much more electronicore which was a product of that era but is much heavier as they had another vocalist who did their screams. Both are worth a listen to without a doubt, one of my all time favorite bands.
New demons album is a must. It's an entirely different feel. Heavy, electronic and bomb ass vocals. These new songs don't do them justice, but still fun
You're definitely right about New Demons being huge for its time! Personally however, I never liked it as much as everyone else. Really don't listen to a whole lot of their discography passed Treehouse lol (wasn't a huge fan of their old screamer, unpopular opinion, I know)
This band has a real cut following, they were the gateway for many of us into metal, with electronic elements, very influential. New Demons is still for me the greatest album ever made in that specific genre
You picked up on some incredible things that I wouldn't think that someone hearing them for the first time would. You said that the drumming in Drift reminds you of the drumming in Bad Omens, well, their current drummer is Dakota Sammons, who is the drum tech for Bad Omens, but there's been barely a word out of these guys for many years, so I don't know if he's a full-time member but I've heard that he's doing studio drums for the band, I've also heard that Luke Holland is doing studio drums for the band (He did studio drums on their last album) and that Dakota Sammons is doing live drums, but I'm pretty sure that Dakota just is their drummer both in studio and tour. We'll find out eventually. I See Stars used to do screaming vocals but they've really dialed it down after their album New Demons, because they were originally a six piece band, their screaming vocalist & their lead guitarist were both "released" from the band, I don't know if that means fired or not, and the drummer swapped to doing the electronic stuff in the band and backing vocals but he sings co-vocals in some songs. Something really cool about the band is that the singer and the electronics guy are brothers, not twins, but they sound nearly identical, which is something you might pick up on in their music if you listen super closely. You can hear the duality between their vocals on the songs Mitten Murder and Light in the Cave. In Anomaly you can hear the other brother singing "Anomaly, I'm an Anomaly, Anomaly, I'm an Anomaly" during the chorus. I'm not 110% certain about it but he has just that small little slight difference in his voice. He's definitely using a head voice for the quieter vocals. I learned to sing from listening to them nonstop and I do the exact same thing when I sing in their style. I wouldn't expect something super crazy or technical from them ever, they're just not that band, but they are super relaxing, but also write very sad songs which helps a lot in comparison to bands that are heavy and angry 😂 Loved your reaction video 😊
Been listening to this band for a long time. New Demons is the best album in terms of heavy. Some great electronic metalcore on that one. Otherwise, Treehouse and Digital Renegade have some good moments and End of the World Party has a lot of pop/major key jams on it
BRO please react to their albums Digital Renegade and New Demons. Trust me, if you like old Asking Alexandria style metalcore, you'll love it. I miss Zach on screams Oh and I'll probably get to hear these songs live in Milwaukee (tour with Bad Omens and ERRA)
Really like both the songs. Liked anomaly more at first, but now I like drift more. I think the breakdown is pretty disappointing in anomaly, but the rest is great.
I See Stars - New demons album is masterpiece 🔥🔥

His voice and just the sounds he produces is insane love I see stars such a fantastic band
Ooooh, hell yeah. I See Stars is an old hidden banger band, seconded on anyone who says to go back and listen to ‘Treehouse’
Love these two new tracks! Their last album Treehouse is amazing and one of my personal favorites
that album aged the best imo, but new demons was huge for it's time

you need to react to their album New Demons, it’s still one of the most unique albums that i listened too
You picked up on some incredible things that I wouldn't think that someone hearing them for the first time would.

“treehouse” or “new demons” reaction pls
Check out their older stuff, specifically from Digital Renegade and New Demons albums

There is an album coming, yes
I think all you need to do to become a fan is to go through their New Demons album. It's a fucking banger from start to finish!
Highly recommend the last album they did “treehouse” I absolutely love it.

Please check out album “Treehouse”
And “New Demons” is heavier
Love devin voice always

My favorite band 😍🤘🏼🔥
BRO please react to their albums Digital Renegade and New Demons. Trust me, if you like old Asking Alexandria style metalcore, you'll love it.
I miss Zach on screams
Oh and I'll probably get to hear these songs live in Milwaukee (tour with Bad Omens and ERRA)
Bro you should listen to the "New Demons" album by these guys when their old scream vocalist was in the group still. You'd love that shit.
👍
New demons or digital renegade 😎👏🏻👏🏻
what the fuuuuuuuuuuuu. I use to think they were never coming back 😭😭😭
Devin is the OG 🔥
Really like both the songs. Liked anomaly more at first, but now I like drift more.
I think the breakdown is pretty disappointing in anomaly, but the rest is great.
Drift isn't my taste, it's a mixture of I See Stars newer music and Devin's side project shybeast
Such a great band but I have to say - waiting 7 years for this was a massive let down.
These tracks are good but don't represent what I see stars is all about.
Listen to Murder Mitten and every other song from the new demons album
Yeah you cant react to the new song always go old and then hit the new im not a fan of this
