How could she not win America got talent
Regretful for a life time that Celine Tam did not win the America got talent. Mel Brown, been unfair, helped ruin her chance to win that competition. She did great on that duet song of Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. But Mel Brown was a B....in her judgement!

Hi Petra; You said the Golden Buzzer Moments ruin You and I know that was just a figure of speech but I think they bring tears to Your eyes because You're so happy for the person getting the Golden Buzzer. It's because You have such empathy towards others But that's just one of the many things that makes You such a Beautiful person. You cringe when someone gets hurt. You gasp when a dancer stumbles mid performance and You cry tears of Joy when someone gets a Golden Buzzer. Golden Buzzer is the only way to move from Audition rounds to live show... Judges only vote you too next audition round..Then votes from audience on phones & such to go farther.....When judges run out of golden buzzers then 2 special judges come in and vote 2 into live round...

Judges cuts reduce 20 acts to 7 each episode so odds are against the acts progressing. A celebrity judge who has not seen the acts is brought in for these rounds to prevent ties. That celebrity judge gets 1 golden buzzer to send one act through leaving only 6 spots open for the remaining 19 acts to win.

auditions = skip judge cuts weeks, at judge cuts = automatically selected, judges do not consider them for the cuts

The judges cuts are there to reduce the numbers to what is required for the quarter finals (they call the Live Shows). as too many got 3 or 4 yes's in the auditions.. All the judges and Tyler Banks used up their one and only golden buzzer in the audition stage. At this next stage they have a guest judge each week who also gets one golden buzzer. The contestant who gets that along with the previous golden buzzer contestants go straight through and the judges cannot cut them out.After this round there will be 8 golden buzzer acts in the quarter finals plus those not cut by the judges. All this because AGT is so big compared to the other Got Talent contests. BGT does still have judges cuts but they are done solely based on the auditions and are done in private. Just one comment about your reaction, you looked away from the screen towards the camera just at the moment when Celine stood there in total shock with her mouth wide open, so cute and sweet. Just have alook again at the video and see what I mean.

actually is 9 gold buzzers ( 4 judge cuts days plus the 5 from auditions ) and yes, gold buzzer in judge cuts means they are safe from the cuts.................. 9 gold buzzers plus 24 who got selected in Judge cuts is 33, and before the Quarterfinals begin, judges will select 3 wild cards to make it 36 ( 3 quarterfinals of 12 acts )
JerryinDFW, In what way, OK got the figures wrong that is because I did not know how many quarter final shows there are, we do not see the schedule here.
even before the judge cuts, they have to select 80 from ones who got 3 yes from judges to make it 4 judge cut weeks with 20 acts each, there are some acts i saw in auditions with 3 yes that never saw them in the cuts
I think the judges pre-cut those that they are sure wont make it, I am guessing that they only see again those feel may make it. At least those who do not make it past the judges cuts stage have had some air time and exposure, that even applies to those who failed at audition. Those who do get past this stage are probably on their way to a more or less successful career. Some will hit the heights others will be good but not spectacular. Winning the contest is not the main point. The exposure means more.

Every week a guest judge can push the golden buzzer. This time Laverne Cox was the guest judge. After everyone performed the judges pick 7 acts (6 acts if the golden buzzer is pushed) that will go the life shows.

Wonderful reaction as always, Petra!..... Yes, Celine is talented, and killed Michael Bolton's classic ballad!..... You asked for our favorite audition this year- mine was Darci Lynne (ventriloquist), which you already reacted to..... also, as pertains to Golden Buzzers ...... Of the countless 100s of auditions the judges sit through, each Judge gets to hit the Golden Buzzer once per season, and those lucky acts go through to the Live Shows (beginning Aug. 15, 2017).... [that's 4, plus Tyra gets one, which= 5 total]..... Then, all the acts that got 3 or 4 "yes" votes audition again, but this time in front of an additional Guest Judge each week (4 guest judges in total)..... Each Guest Judge can hit the Golden Buzzer once (passing the act to the Live Shows)..... Thus, there are 9 Golden Buzzers in total, added to the 27 other acts who survive the Judge's cuts, for a total of 36 who begin The Live Shows..... [I hope this helps clarify it for you]...... PS- Grace VanderWaal will make a guest STAR appearance on AGT on August 16, the first "Results Show", singing her new hit "Moonlight"..... It would be great to see you react to that!......
