Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon is undoubtedly a very powerful boss monster to bring out with its dual protection effects of not being targetable and destructable by card effects. There are however a few counters available: Non-targeting switch into defense mode: Sphere Kuriboh, Curse of Anubis, Windstorm of Etaqua. Non-targeting banish: Spellbook of Fate, Metaphys Daedalus Non-targeting battle traps: Wall of Disruption and Drowning Mirror Force. Overall it looks like a better Meme deck than Neo Ultimate Blue-Eyes, because the latter has no protection whatsoever.
I like that the new Kaiba (DSOD) has given a resurgence to Blue-Eyes. Got to legend 1 with it so far. Never KOGed with Blue-eyes before, gonna try it this season.

How to survive Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon 1. Do NOT put your monsters on set or defense position except if it's a flip effect monster that doesn't target the Chaos such as Fiber Jar (set it. It doesn't work if it's face up). The reason why you don't want to do this is because Chaos deals DOUBLE piercing damage agaisnt defense position monsters, which means that if your card is in defense position, and it's attacked by Chaos, it'll deal the damage by (ATK - destroyed monster DEF) x 2. Examples: 1000 Defense, defense position, At 4000 attack, it made 3000 piercing damage, multiplied by 2, dealing 6000 damage. With a card of 0 defense, it'll deal 8000 damage, potentially (or very much assured) to kill you instantly, unless if you have a counter trap or you have more than 8000LP. Try that with an ATK position monster, it will deal only the leftover ATK to you, such as 4000ATK - 1500ATK = 2500LP damage to you. Much better than 5000 damage with Chaos agaisnt 1500 defense. 2. Use effect cards that does not target a specific monster, such as the DNA Surgery trap + Insect Barrier spell, which turns Chaos MAX and other monsters on the field into insect type, which will be neutralized with the Insect Barrier, which disables enemy attacks due to their type becoming insects. Another way to do this is to just play Raigeki, which doesn't target, but just destroys every monster on the field, as it's not a single target spell, it's a "wide range" spell. 3. Overpower it's ATK. Use Winged Dragon of Ra or any card that can boost your card into at least 4000 ATK and protect it from other card effects other than your equip cards/continuous spell/trap 4. Windstorm is coming back. I'm a DL and a tcg player and chaos max is low tier in tcg because it's not hard to get him into defence, lower his atk, or send him back to hand/deck without targeting. Windstorm, wall of d, mirror wall, floodgate t-hole all screws the monster/deck over. Edit:This mans however is a top player for a reason and capitalizes on what the top decks are and how they play, countering the destruction heavy crack and playing around some of the traps that he would lose to. Other things you can do is throwing in a bit more back row hate/use d spirit of white more to make sure you dont get floddgated or windstormed.
I know my version isnt competitive but I used the level 8 Cyber Angel's and Advanced ritual art. Dakini is so good against some of the top teir decks because it sends a monster to the grave and doesnt target, cocytus, facedown umastryx, neos.
Though there are a lot of ways to get rid of this, I'm glad they released it as a skill and not as a card. The OTK potential is too much with this in Duel Links. It would force the meta to build around it completely.
Everyone asking how the skill works. First, turn 6+, the skill adds Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon to the top of the deck. Then the skill checks the board. If your opponent controls MONSTERS not just a single monster with a total of 3500+ DEF, then it adds Chaos Form to your hand.
I'm somewhat knew to the game so not entirely sure if this is a good counter for the BE Chaos MAX Dragon, but there's a card called RE Black Dragon Sword. I feel like if the opponent was to use it they might stand a chance, but I doubt they'd ever get a chance...
If it’s the extra deck card, then it would still be pointless, to be fair, if it is a average player then it might kill them depending if they have another monster but most likely won’t. Especially if I have a card like controller which can flip your monster into defense mode in which it would one shot you with piercing damage, even if you try to negate the attack there are many cards that could also negate your cards
I honestly like the idea that you only have six turns before losing to Kaiba and his badass skill. Pretty much a good anti-stall deck. Beware of Lava Golems though. 😅

I ideally would have chaos Max on the field with stardust dragon. An enemy controller in my hand makes things 10000x better because I almost always auto win, and deep eyes in my hand as well guarantees my win. I can't lose with those 4 cards out and ready to be used.
Is there a bug with the card Hollow Life Barrier? Somebody played it against me in Ranked and it's not supposed to protect his monster from being destroyed by battle but that's exactly what it did. In addition to not taking battle damage, his monster was destroyed by battle either.

DSoD box was made to specifically counter Despardo decks because a lot of cards can't be destroyed by card effects or targeted.

Can’t you use Windstorm or Anubis to get instant lethal after summoning MAX? It could also be used for protection.
You can also use mithra the thunder vassal to summon a 1000 def token to the opponents side of the field

It prevents the monster from being destroyed. It prevents the entire damage.
