For me it helps to have something to anticipate a future reward “if I get this done by Friday, then that means this weekend I can go to the mall, otherwise I’ll have to spend the weekend doing this thing instead.”
This is such a refreshing video about how to stop procrastination!! There some tips like imagining finishing the project and giving in to the procrastination that I have been doing for years but was always told I shouldn't do it but it worked for me. There are some new things I've learned and definitely will try! Btw ya'll are just too cute!! That ending melted my heart😍😍😍
HA! The last example...I told myself before watching this video that I needed to watch this before I started this project at work so I can just get it over with and move on to work finally. I've been exhausted from decluttering and reorganizing a lot of different areas in my house over the last few months so I get bogged down sometimes by the time I get to work and I can be on RUclips all day sometimes. Thank you for the continued motivation I've been needing so badly!!! Please do more cleaning/decluttering/organizing videos! You help inspire me to take action in my own cleaning haha
Your videos are great!! and your children are beautiful!! -- Could you please share how you teach your daughter the $$ life? Im new and haven't seen all the videos but I did see today she has a "budget" and you were going to include her on learning home expenses etc. Does she have a different kid friendly budget sheet?
I've picked up some useful tips from this video, especially the one about giving myself permission to be confused with new projects. That's a large part of why I procrastinate. Thanks!
If you like to save tabs but are working on the one tab at a time rule the google chrome extension Toby is so helpful! Keeps what you want to categorized so you can hop right back in when you’re ready!
Omg look at Reeves. He is so handsome and getting so big. Thank you for this video, I procrastinate all the time at work. I recently bought a sand glass thing. It’s about 30 minutes. I let it go and work straight on a tasks with no breaks and then break for 5 minutes and so on until I get into a groove. I always shut down my email and put my phone on do not disturb.
How cute was that ending?! I feel like we need to see more of that in your videos. Your son is SUPER CUTE 😊😊😊! I make a to-do list for the week in notes on my phone, and then add, delete, or move tasks around within the same week, while always making a point to finish all tasks within the week. I give myself more flexibility this way.
Y’all are so cute!!! Best way for me not to procrastinate? Write a to do list in the morning, priority highest to lowest of what needs to get done. As in must get done - would be nice to get done. I get satisfaction off of crossing each line off and seeing the accomplishment at the end of the day.
I try to clean off my desk top every night so there aren’t random papers/notes distracting me each morning. I also spend the last hour (as much as I can) reviewing my task list to make sure I didn’t miss anything and set my tasks for the next day. This allows me to sit down and get started straight away and I try to knock out the worst tasks up front. Then I reward myself when those tasks are done with my favorite online magazine people.com 😊. That gives me a nice motivation and a nice break at work.
RUclips is my problem. Once I start that’s it! I can’t stop looking for videos and vlogs to watch. If I leave my cellphone on my bed boy it’s a wrap in the morning because I get on IG and yeah can’t stop. But I do work great under pressure so great I have started and completed a 50 page paper in a day in APA format and I got an A! Proudest moment but I got no sleep. I was dead tired and that messed with my entire schedule which pushed my other work behind. So thanks for all all your help. Btw: reeves hair cut is soooo cute! Handsome guy.
A recent tip that I got which I found surprisingly helpful was to concentrate on the process not the product. I guess it applies best to projects where you know you will have to put in a lot of work over a long period of time. My boyfriend and I agreed to perform a dancing show at his mom's jubilee. That is obviously not something you can just come up with within a few minutes (unless you are a professional but we surely aren't). I noticed that when I try to motivate him by mentioning the show (the end result), we don't get far. But if I suggest that we just practice tonight (process-oriented), then we often end up working on the show. It seems to be counter-intuitive but I think that the thought of the end result with such big projects just overwhelms rather than inspires. So concentrating on something familiar and calling it a familiar name takes the pressure away.
Hi! I'm brazilian and your videos are helping me to improve my english. I love that you speak so clearly. Sorry about my mystakes. I'm still studying. Thank you 🤗
My 2 best tips (sorta mentioned tho): 1) Write a to-do list with very bite-sized items for big projects and even normal ones. Each part will take me 30 mins or so to do, and I feel good crossing it out. Ex: I had a creative social media project to do, so I listed out a timeline for the project, then did a checklist of every little part I have to prepare before putting it together. This motivates me because I feel like I got the hard part of thinking and planning already done. 2) Just do it! Sounds stupid right? For me, especially with exercise, I make myself get all the stuff I need ready and get in the space, all while mentally saying “ughhh Im not in the mood to do this rn” but then I just force myself to start and its all good after 5 mins. This lets me start the thing physically even if Im mentally not in the mood. Ex: I will put on workout clothes, walk to the basement, put on a workout video, and say “ok youre literally already here, it would take more effort to clean all this up and do what you wanna do, so just start it”
One of my best tips and this is a given is to make sure to turn off all phones and to go to a quiet area where you can minimize any distraction at all for example this evening I had to work on some finances I went and I turned off everything and I sat down quietly and I did it you can get it done so much faster that way
I am a pro at procrastinating. And I always feel motivated and driven when it's super inconvenient - I feel like studying when I am at work and always want to 'go and get it' at midnight... But I do succeed sometimes and have some tips of my own: if you come home and sit down for a bit just to relax, always switch on the light if it's starting to get dark. If you sit there while darkness falls around you, you'll get cosy and sleepy and any chance of productivity will go bye-bye. Also, if you are doing self-study, make sure you have a proper setup - a desk, office chair, notebooks, pens and highlighters. There is a reason why you get a desk at school... I have insisted that I can study and learn while half-sitting, half-lying on the bed and guess what? EPIC FAIL.
but usually to stop myself from procrastinating i get a glass of water lock my phone in one of the drawers in my desk (turned off) and force myself to work for at least an hour
You guys are literally my 10th open tab right..... Oops.... I do notice that I actually procrastinate less when I start my morning with things I love first, and then it's easier to do work that's less exciting because I feel great about already having have done some of the work where my passion lies.
Noticed: the both of you are wearing wedding rings? Are you saying your religionists committed, but nit legally? Witch is so cool. Or are you not telling us something. Not to discredit this post. Thank you for the information on how to keep on track.
believe in yourself they said in a previous video, that they are in a long term engagement. Tasha said she said yes, but no wedding before the year 2020. I personally like it when guys wear engagement rings. I think it’s a great symbol of commitment to the engagement.
Tbh I’m procrastinating watching this video rn
"How do I make my arm look not gigantic" SIS I FEEL THIS.
Love your work guys!
"pretty productive people", ya'll the most productive people I know. (sort of know :D)
For me it helps to have something to anticipate a future reward “if I get this done by Friday, then that means this weekend I can go to the mall, otherwise I’ll have to spend the weekend doing this thing instead.”
Yes, the false deadline is awesome. I do that especially for meetings to make sure i arrive early/on time not late.
Give workspace for confusion and emotion. Move through the uncomfortable in small, measured amounts of time. Love it!
You are extremely productive to say the least. It's crazy how much you get done. I burned out when trying to be productive.
I procrastinate the most on cleaning because I hate it and would rather do anything else. Good tips!

aww that bit at the end was so cute lo you guys!!
Clean off desk. Focus on single-tasking. That helps me not feel so overwhelmed that I get things completed.
Ashley Burton that is a great tip! I have been doing this a lot lately. Really helps with the anxiety

Great video. I struggle with procrastination, these were helpful tips. Thank you
The end bit was so cute. A little peak into your life, absolutely adorable
These are great tips. Stopping procrastination is so hard and I feel like it's that way because it's a learned behavior.
I've picked up some useful tips from this video, especially the one about giving myself permission to be confused with new projects. That's a large part of why I procrastinate. Thanks!
i've watched a lot of videos about procrastination but this might be the best video I watched so far.
