Had a step daughter before becoming Muslim, am I sinful if I still treat her as my daughter

Sheikh,if I’m not mistaken isn’t she a mahrem to him because he was married to her mother.

if he is still married to her mother than he can look after her like a step-daughter as the sharia teaches but if he is no longer married to her mother than he must treat her like a non-mahram and be mindful of that. if he wants to help her financially than i guess he can but he should do it for dawah or sadaqah purposes. he has no obligations to look after her after her mother and him divorced. if her real father is still alive and sane then she should seek out het real biological father!

If I’m not mistaken, he’s a permanent mahram, like with a father-in-law.
