The way Johnson talks about the sneaker industry, the market of sneakers, sneaker stories, and how sneakers bring people together is amazing. He has a great understanding of what it means to be a sneaker head from every view possible. Most people don't truly understand what it means to be into sneakers. People think its just about buying, selling, and trading. But it's way more then that, sneakers bring people together from all different aspects, and it really shows that this is a community way beyond materialistic items. It's about experiences, stories, and the overall meanings of each shoe to each individual person. Great vid and ALOT of respect to Johnson. One of the good ones. 💯

Being a person who picked up the love for Sneakers during lockdown, the most exciting part of my days were the 7:00 a SNKRS drop. Being that I convinced myself that I fell for a trend, I am now getting back into touch of the intention of sneakers. Seeing a collection like this, it is more than having every color, it was about who can it can reach too, the relationships, and sentiments that sneakers can hold. I loved this video so much, Johnson is an absolute gem for being able to speak upon his collection. Thank you for your time and stories! I recently purchased my all time grail, Eric Koston Jordan 1 SB Lows in UNC Blue. I was a skater kid in elementary school to high school, and I remember owning tons of Nike 6.0’s, SB dunks, PRODS, and Janoskis. The one shoe I never got into were the Kostons, Which I wish I have had. I remember watching his advert with Kobe, and the Cameo with Kobe in PRODS “Today was a good day” advert. That’s where the worlds of basketball and skating collided for me. So when I first started purchasing Jordan’s I told myself that I would own those Eric Koston Jordan 1 Low SBs just because it was a point in my life were I enjoyed being who I was and it allowed me to get a Koston shoe. All though they aren’t the Kostons, they were the closest thing I can get to what still exists of him. At this point I think the shoe that I would love to own would either be the Jordan 1 Low SB Midnight Navy Kostons! Yuto SB Dunks Size 10, or even the Jarritos SB Dunks Size 10. Just because of the SB LOW touch of sentiment, but also entirely open to what y’all would think would fit into my ownership since you guys got Johnson right on his shoes!
Johnson’s story of how he got into shoes with his son mirrors mine 2 years ago when my son wanted his first pair of Jordan’s. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I couldn’t afford any Jordan’s and now loving the sneaker journey it has taken my son and I. It’s awesome to see Johnson pour into the young men at Common Hype and being a great “father” figure in them in a sneaker culture that can take many people sideways. I really loved the Jordan 4 Fear pack due to the color way. I have the Jordan 4 infrareds which the toe box looks similar with the different shades of light greys, but the black mid panel with the splash of white looks phenomenal! I’m a size 10.5.
Those Zion Williams Voodo's are so nice! The price is too high to pick up but they're a great pair and HE'S GOT MULTIPLES!!! The collection is just crazy.
SBs will always have a place in my heart. I grew up skating but never owned a pair of SB dunks because i couldn’t afford them. I love the stories behind the collabs and all the different designs that you don’t see often on regular shoes. I love the VX1000 SB dunks. It’s so unique with all the different details. I still love watching skate and snowboard videos and makes me think of the cameras they would use to make those videos. Size 9!

Awesome video! I love every time Johnson features. His collection is a dream I could only hope to one day accomplish. As a young father of two very little boys I am so excited to explore joint interests with them as they continue to grow older. My oldest (4 y/o) I have already turned into a mini sneaker head! He loves looking at my shoes/his and us talking about new ones that are coming out. With as expensive as sneakers are it’s hard to keep us all with a solid rotation but I certainly try my best! My favorite shoes in Johnson’s collection are the Travis Scott SB dunk low’s as they are a grail of mine and probably a shoe I will never be able to obtain. I love how different they are and yet they are able to match so much (I feel like a hype beast picking a Travis Scott but I just have to be honest lol). I also just love all of the kids shoes Johnson is collecting as again, I hope to further increase the interest my two boys have in sneakers. I’d be just as lucky/happy to get a pair for them as myself! They love anything colorful and are a size 7C and 11C.

Videos with Johnson are some of my favorites! Love how humble and nonchalant he is, with an amazing collection that he could definitely flex. My favorite pair is 100% the Jordan 1 Hyper Royal!!!! I’ve always looked at that pair and been close to pulling the trigger but haven’t due to college expenses. The Hyper Royal is my all time favorite shoe, and what got me back into sneakers as well as me and my mom selling sneakers together. If I was to win I am a size 10.5, but regardless I love the Chanel and y’all inspired me to slightly get into sneaker selling, being the first Chanel I ever watched and binged. My favorite out of Johnson’s collection would the Nigel Sylvester Jordan 1’s 9.5 the story behind it a bmx Jordan athlete and the way the scuffs are on it I remember dogging pairs on my bike all the time. The gold and red low dunks are called money cat there from 07’ fire pair.

First off great video. Recently found the channel as I am just getting into sneakers and it was refreshing to see a man closer to my age (Johnson) who has a passion for sneakers and the relationships he was able to form as well as strengthen in his life through collecting. Its crazy that sneakers can bring so many different generations together. Johnson obviously has a lot of heat in his collection but my personal favorite were probably the Purple Lobsters same size as Johnson (11). Everything from the vibrant purple exterior, to the white and purple plaid interior makes these shoes unique and stand out. Really wish a more affordable version of these were available.

I agree with Johnson 100%, those union Jordan 1 Highs are two of the best highs of all time! Love how they deconstructed the iconic jordan 1 high and blended in the bigger wings logo from the ajkos and left the shoe almost unfinished looking with the exposed stitching and patched up looking mixture of materials/textures. The Storm Blue Union AJ1 High is one of my all time grails that Im trying to get into my collection. Size 11!

First this collection is just amazing and Johnson is a very humble soul that even as an introvert with anxiety, I honestly feel like I could just talk with him in that room for hours. I also agree that nowadays people think it’s all about price, the genuine passion in the sneaker lane isn’t that. It’s about the meaning and the core memory that’s attached. I remember the very first time I snuck out of high school was to go to the post office to pick up a pair of Jordan flight club 91 in the aqua lagoon color. It wasn’t the most amazing pair but it didn’t matter to me. Later on when I got my shoes I stumbled apon a RUclips video that showed the offwhite unc. It was only showed in the video for a minute and at the time I had never heard of offwhite. When I seen that shoe the future of my sneaker loving passion passed in front of my eyes. I love that shoe, just the color and how it’s a living blueprint just sewn together just had me. I wanted that shoe so much. Hands down my ultimate sneaker art piece is the offwhite jordan 1 unc size 13. I would love to own this shoe, it would be a dream to have it right next to my flight 91s. It would pose as a great story and memory to have something I started(91s) right next to my dream(unc). Watching this video I really felt like I was watching someone who experienced these never forgetting moments, even if it’s to something as simple as a shoe.

My favorite shoe is honestly the North Carolina PE Jordan 4. Mainly because of how iconic the UNC blue is in general, and then you combine with a very rare Jordan 4 and it’s just perfect. One of my favourite sneakers from Johnson’s collection is the union La x air Jordan 1 retro high NRG ‘storm blue it’s one of the best Jordan 1 highs they ever made like he said in the video. The mix of colors, especially the storm blue, gives it a fresh and eye-catching look. Plus, the collaboration adds a special touch, making it a must-have for sneaker enthusiasts. If you can’t get me that shoe I would be happy with the Jordan 4 breds i also believe that the breds are one of the best Jordan 4s that Nike and Jordan released I am a size 10 thank you common hype for this awesome video

My favorite is the Parra SB, it’s such a good shoe and perfect color combo. It’s cool to see his collection and how it’s about “ the chase” of having them all. The UNC PEs are so sick. I remember unc players getting in so much trouble for selling them the day they got them.
I love how Johnson always finds pride and tells a story and shows lots of information about each sneaker he has and I wish I would be able to do that with a large sneaker collection that I hopefully own in the future. I just turned 14 and started out my collection with some Jordan 1 mids in the University Blue Black colorway that I bought after working hard for some money. Last year I was looking for a pair of Nike Dunk Low Grey Fogs and I was about to get them but then they got sold out in my size literally when I added them to my cart so I have been looking for them ever since and just loved them ever since they dropped. I got the job because she couldn’t afford to pay for the Jordan 4 black cements that I wanted and told me if I wanted those I would have to get a job. So for that reason my favorite he showed was the Jordan 4 black cement! Size 11 is also my size now. Back then in 1990 it was a 7.5😂. Pine Green Jordan 4 SB. I just started collecting shoes only have like 10 pairs atm and none of them are a Jordan 4s. Out of the all the 4s that came out in the past two years have never caught my attention like the pine greens. As an SB fan these shoes are the ones on my list that caught my attention. The white and green are so subtle and the brown bottom sole. Great video with Johnson. Watched the entire video and was amazed with all the great shoes he owns and the meaning behind them.
Johnson's collection is truly mind-blowing. I'm slowly building my collection from ds to slightly used pairs to sneakers that like. But in his collection, I'm a big fan of the lobster sb dunks. But my favorite pair are the blue lobsters sb dunks.
Nothing beats that Jordan 4 silhouette. An sb version though is one of the best things Jordan brand has done. Excited to see if other colour ways ever come out between Jordan and Nike sb for the 4’s. Would love to get my hands on a 10.5. Sneaker of the year for sure, wasn’t even close.
My favorite has to be the Jordan 1s Lost & Founds just a classic reminder of the original. But more into the video most definitely cause when Johnson is in the video the content is much more up there and it’s been a while since Johnson been in the vids lately. His story of the custom made Air Force 1s for his best friend and saying he would grab the Kobe’s he wore to his funeral if there was only one pair he could grab if his house was burning down is a class act and respect move knowing it’s a meaningful pair to Johnson. Great video and was great to see/hear Johnson's updated collection. I love his comment about how you should buy sneakers that matter to you versus following the "hype" and or value. I also enjoyed his comment about if the house was on fire and he can only take one shoe...and he choose the Kobe's where we went to his best friends funeral with. That shoe is priceless to him because of the memories that are connected to it. I love that and agree 100%. Sneakers is, was and will always be a great way to bridge connections, memories and self expression. The way Johnson talks about the sneaker industry, the market of sneakers, sneaker stories, and how sneakers bring people together is amazing. He has a great understanding of what it means to be a sneaker head from every view possible. Most people don't truly understand what it means to be into sneakers. People think its just about buying, selling, and trading. But it's way more then that, sneakers bring people together from all different aspects, and it really shows that this is a community way beyond materialistic items. It's about experiences, stories, and the overall meanings of each shoe to each individual person. Great vid and ALOT of respect to Johnson. One of the good ones. 💯

Being that I convinced myself that I fell for a trend, I am now getting back into touch of the intention of sneakers. I recently purchased my all time grail, Eric Koston Jordan 1 SB Lows in UNC Blue. I was a skater kid in elementary school to high school, and I remember owning tons of Nike 6.0’s, SB dunks, PRODS, and Janoskis. The one shoe I never got into were the Kostons, Which I wish I have had. I remember watching his advert with Kobe, and the Cameo with Kobe in PRODS “Today was a good day” advert. That’s where the worlds of basketball and skating collided for me. So when I first started purchasing Jordan’s I told myself that I would own those Eric Koston Jordan 1 Low SBs just because it was a point in my life were I enjoyed being who I was and it allowed me to get a Koston shoe. All though they aren’t the Kostons, they were the closest thing I can get to what still exists of him. At this point I think the shoe that I would love to own would either be the Jordan 1 Low SB Midnight Navy Kostons! Yuto SB Dunks Size 10, or even the Jarritos SB Dunks Size 10. Just because of the SB LOW touch of sentiment, but also entirely open to what y’all would think would fit into my ownership since you guys got Johnson right on his shoes!
Johnson’s story of how he got into shoes with his son mirrors mine 2 years ago when my son wanted his first pair of Jordan’s. Growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I couldn’t afford any Jordan’s and now loving the sneaker journey it has taken my son and I. It’s awesome to see Johnson pour into the young men at Common Hype and being a great “father” figure in them in a sneaker culture that can take many people sideways. I really loved the Jordan 4 Fear pack due to the color way. I have the Jordan 4 infrareds which the toe box looks similar with the different shades of light greys, but the black mid panel with the splash of white looks phenomenal! I’m a size 10.5.

SBs will always have a place in my heart. I grew up skating but never owned a pair of SB dunks because i couldn’t afford them. I love the stories behind the collabs and all the different designs that you don’t see often on regular shoes. I love the VX1000 SB dunks. It’s so unique with all the different details. I still love watching skate and snowboard videos and makes me think of the cameras they would use to make those videos. Size 9!

Awesome video! I love every time Johnson features. His collection is a dream I could only hope to one day accomplish. As a young father of two very little boys I am so excited to explore joint interests with them as they continue to grow older. My oldest (4 y/o) I have already turned into a mini sneaker head! He loves looking at my shoes/his and us talking about new ones that are coming out. With as expensive as sneakers are it’s hard to keep us all with a solid rotation but I certainly try my best! My favorite shoes in Johnson’s collection are the Travis Scott SB dunk low’s as they are a grail of mine and probably a shoe I will never be able to obtain. I love how different they are and yet they are able to match so much (I feel like a hype beast picking a Travis Scott but I just have to be honest lol). I also just love all of the kids shoes Johnson is collecting as again, I hope to further increase the interest my two boys have in sneakers. I’d be just as lucky/happy to get a pair for them as myself! They love anything colorful and are a size 7C and 11C.

Videos with Johnson are some of my favorites! Love how humble and nonchalant he is, with an amazing collection that he could definitely flex. My favorite pair is 100% the Jordan 1 Hyper Royal!!!! I’ve always looked at that pair and been close to pulling the trigger but haven’t due to college expenses. The Hyper Royal is my all time favorite shoe, and what got me back into sneakers as well as me and my mom selling sneakers together. If I was to win I am a size 10.5, but regardless I love the Chanel and y’all inspired me to slightly get into sneaker selling, being the first Chanel I ever watched and binged. First off great video. Recently found the channel as I am just getting into sneakers and it was refreshing to see a man closer to my age (Johnson) who has a passion for sneakers and the relationships he was able to form as well as strengthen in his life through collecting. Its crazy that sneakers can bring so many different generations together. Johnson obviously has a lot of heat in his collection but my personal favorite were probably the Purple Lobsters same size as Johnson (11). Everything from the vibrant purple exterior, to the white and purple plaid interior makes these shoes unique and stand out. Really wish a more affordable version of these were available.

I agree with Johnson 100%, those union Jordan 1 Highs are two of the best highs of all time! Love how they deconstructed the iconic jordan 1 high and blended in the bigger wings logo from the ajkos and left the shoe almost unfinished looking with the exposed stitching and patched up looking mixture of materials/textures. The Storm Blue Union AJ1 High is one of my all time grails that Im trying to get into my collection. Size 11!

I just got into the sneaker game about 6 months ago, and fell in love with the idea of a collection, therefore, it started. I started exploring the world of different silhouettes, and instantly enjoyed browsing Jordan 4s, just like Johnson. My favorite sneaker in Johnson’s collection and of all time for me has to be the Jordan 4 SB ‘Pine Green’. I love SBs and I never found anything wrong with the Jordan 4 pair. Watching Kobe all my life, he truly became my role model on and off the court. Sneakers are more than just sneakers. There are stories behind each pair. Even the scent of the shoes when newly unboxed triggers sneaker orgasms. (lol!) Owning these vast collection of sneakers is a sight to behold.
First this collection is just amazing and Johnson is a very humble soul that even as an introvert with anxiety, I honestly feel like I could just talk with him in that room for hours. I also agree that nowadays people think it’s all about price, the genuine passion in the sneaker lane isn’t that. It’s about the meaning and the core memory that’s attached. I remember the very first time I snuck out of high school was to go to the post office to pick up a pair of Jordan flight club 91 in the aqua lagoon color. It wasn’t the most amazing pair but it didn’t matter to me. Later on when I got my shoes I stumbled apon a RUclips video that showed the offwhite unc. It was only showed in the video for a minute and at the time I had never heard of offwhite. When I seen that shoe the future of my sneaker loving passion passed in front of my eyes. I love that shoe, just the color and how it’s a living blueprint just sewn together just had me. I wanted that shoe so much. Hands down my ultimate sneaker art piece is the offwhite jordan 1 unc size 13. I would love to own this shoe, it would be a dream to have it right next to my flight 91s. It would pose as a great story and memory to have something I started(91s) right next to my dream(unc). Watching this video I really felt like I was watching someone who experienced these never forgetting moments, even if it’s to something as simple as a shoe.

My favorite shoe is honestly the North Carolina PE Jordan 4. Mainly because of how iconic the UNC blue is in general, and then you combine with a very rare Jordan 4 and it’s just perfect. I wear a size 10 and a PE will be a tough ask. So If I win I would be willing to pick another shoe. Keep up the good work.

One of my favourite sneakers from Johnson’s collection is the union La x air Jordan 1 retro high NRG ‘storm blue it’s one of the best Jordan 1 highs they ever made like he said in the video. The mix of colors, especially the storm blue, gives it a fresh and eye-catching look. Plus, the collaboration adds a special touch, making it a must-have for sneaker enthusiasts. If you can’t get me that shoe I would be happy with the Jordan 4 breds i also believe that the breds are one of the best Jordan 4s that Nike and Jordan released I am a size 10 thank you common hype for this awesome video

My favorite is the Parra SB, it’s such a good shoe and perfect color combo. It’s cool to see his collection and how it’s about “ the chase” of having them all. The UNC PEs are so sick. I remember unc players getting in so much trouble for selling them the day they got them.
I love how Johnson always finds pride and tells a story and shows lots of information about each sneaker he has and I wish I would be able to do that with a large sneaker collection that I hopefully own in the future. I just turned 14 and started out my collection with some Jordan 1 mids in the University Blue Black colorway that I bought after working hard for some money. Last year I was looking for a pair of Nike Dunk Low Grey Fogs and I was about to get them but then they got sold out in my size literally when I added them to my cart so I have been looking for them ever since and just loved them ever since they dropped. My first job at 15 was at foot locker. My mom had to sign a waiver because of my age. I got the job because she couldn’t afford to pay for the Jordan 4 black cements that I wanted and told me if I wanted those I would have to get a job.
So for that reason my favorite he showed was the Jordan 4 black cement! Size 11 is also my size now. Back then in 1990 it was a 7.5😂.

Pine Green Jordan 4 SB. I just started collecting shoes only have like 10 pairs atm and none of them are a Jordan 4s. Out of the all the 4s that came out in the past two years have never caught my attention like the pine greens. As an SB fan these shoes are the ones on my list that caught my attention. The white and green are so subtle and the brown bottom sole.

My favorite has to be the Jordan 1s Lost & Founds just a classic reminder of the original. But more into the video most definitely cause when Johnson is in the video the content is much more up there and it’s been a while since Johnson been in the vids lately. His story of the custom made Air Force 1s for his best friend and saying he would grab the Kobe’s he wore to his funeral if there was only one pair he could grab if his house was burning down is a class act and respect move knowing it’s a meaningful pair to Johnson. Always appreciate the content with Johnson in it and the second vid of his collection hopefully the third vid of his collection would he when little Johnson is around💯 enjoy the content always common hype!

I dig the relationship / sort of mentorship you guys have with Johnson. He seems like a solid guy, and seems like the energy goes both ways where you guys also have something to bring to the table given the different generations in the culture. It did hurt my soul when you pulled out the stealth 3 and nobody had any idea what they were 😂😂 probably one of the most popular shoes when I was getting into the game! My favorite shoe in his collection are the Nigel 1s. The most classic silhouette breaking into the bmx scene and really honoring a little bit of both cultures! Size 12 is tough to track down would be unreal to add to the collection. Keep up the good work
Great video and was great to see/hear Johnson's updated collection. I love his comment about how you should buy sneakers that matter to you versus following the "hype" and or value. I also enjoyed his comment about if the house was on fire and he can only take one shoe...and he choose the Kobe's where we went to his best friends funeral with. That shoe is priceless to him because of the memories that are connected to it. I love that and agree 100%. Sneakers is, was and will always be a great way to bridge connections, memories and self expression. For the giveaway I am a size 9 and it will be the OW Chicago 1 and it is not about the value but more about what it represents. It is a Chicago AJI and it is a Virgil creation. The creativity that went into transforming such an iconic shoe and arguably raise it higher than the OG is impressive in itself. My favorite pair is 100% the panda pigeon man, I always love the story of Jeff Staple being given a chance to represent New York with his first pigeon dunk, and as an Asian too, I love seeing people from our culture win. I'm a 9.5🙏

Brings back the real vintage look from the OG Chicago, Nike made this shoe absolutely perfect.
