Dolly is phenomenal in this interview. Anyone else would have gotten up and walked out after the first 10 minutes. This interviewer is so negative. Dolly handled her with her grace and honesty.
This interview is fascinating for a couple reasons: 1. The interviewer is incredibly rude, interrupting Dolly every time she tries to speak. 2. Dolly is not happy here, despite her smile. “I would’ve been disappointed in you if you didn’t ask the obvious question.” 3. I never heard about the dad’s illegitimate children either, so there’s some revelations. 4. I feel like the real Dolly is coming thru here, the fierce intelligence which she sometimes hides. 5. The passive aggressiveness is fascinating. I feel like Dolly would’ve liked to have gotten up and left but she’s required to be nice!
I love how blunt and straightforward the interviewer is. As a foreigner living in America I am always bothered how interviewers sugarcoat with celebrities and are not straightforward. It's a cultural difference I know, but interviewers should ask what needs to be asked. I love Dolly Parton and her honesty
She is so beautiful and charming and talented. she's 30 years older then me and i have fancied her for Ages. Her husband is a very Lucky guy being married to her so long.
12:15 most fascinating bit to me. The business side of things shes so brilliant at. And older women in music not getting radio plays for their new music 15:30 she was a parentified kid too 16:50 i feel like dolly as a sexual person, sex symbol doesn’t get talked about enough because a) she Also puts out such a wholesome image. b) we see that people (men) are always projecting the sex thing on her that we forget she herself projects it too. 18:09 “I know that I’m merchandise. I know that I’m a product.” Golly! 18:27 lmao she was so worried she’d offended the interview 😂 I want to believe this is genuine niceness I love her 22:30 great point. It might not be necessarily true that people are becoming x. There’d always have been people who are x and people who are not-x.
As a Swede (living in the US) I can definitely say that Stina is doing a bit of false advertising here when she accuses only the US to place external beauty at the top of the list. Although, Sweden is a lot more egalitarian than most countries. Feminism and Women's Rights movements are strong there, and it especially in those circles where women look like trolls, to be perfectly honest. And since most political parties have embraced feminism, you often have female politicians appear on the news, or in interviews looking like they just woke up that morning. (Stina herself doesn't look all that glamorous either.) Their hair looks like a crow's nest, yellow teeth, understated TV makeup etc. You would NEVER see an American female celebrity (or male) appear on TV like that. Swedish people are another story. They care about their appearance as much as anybody else. I think most people in Sweden agree with what Dolly is saying, what's on the inside is important, but that shouldn't stop you from looking and smelling your best.
Dolly is a class act. Why is it so hard to understand that even though she looks like a bimbo she is a smart buissiness women with a heart. Groucho Marx deliberately dressed "funny" most of the time and people were not shy to point out his comic genius. Appearance isn't everything.
How could anyone be so narrow minded and biased about Dolly? Totally clueless about what an intelligent powerful woman she is. Dolly staying classy in spite of it.
I don't think Dolly enjoyed doing this interview very much...maybe it was the language barrier, but the interviewer seemed to be distancing herself, for some reason, and it seemed to make Dolly uncomfortable. I didn't care for this interview solely due to this.
I dont care for the interviewer. Interrupts alot and her questions seem cast from some kind of annoying passive aggressiveness. I felt Dolly was annoyed but Dolly is gracious of course and tried to hide it.
Dolly, you are smarter than any interviewer, yet some, such as this woman, are determined to outsmart you. Just not possible! Love you, Gal!
i just LOVE her spirit..she's so positive about life. I bet people really love being around her.
I just love her!! Always have!! God Bless Her!!!

So talented. So humble. She wrote I will always love you and Jolene on the same day. Thats not even human. I love her!

Dolly kept her cool so well. A true statement to her emotional intelligence. Forever young. Live long and thrive, dear Dolly and Carl.

Dolly knows her truth, and isn’t ashamed of her life. In fact she’s protective of it.

Love you dolly
I love your music
She is not a smart business woman with a heart. She is a gifted songwriter, singer with a huge heart, and let's God take care of business.
How could anyone be so narrow minded and biased about Dolly? Totally clueless about what an intelligent powerful woman she is. Dolly staying classy in spite of it.
she is epic
Hello hello beautiful 🎃🎃💋💋🥰🇺🇲🇺🇲💐🎵🎼🎶. Dolly. Thank you.
Dolly you were a little beauty as a little girl. Your eyes are so pretty . I would write more but we are under a tornado watch

The closed caption for English is way off lol

Dolly signed a photo at the end of the video and wrote 2002.
i im drawing dolly parton on my big fat pumpkin in the front door outside i used to put dolly parton face
Dolly seems annoyed in this interview... it’s interesting to watch though.
She reminds me of Hilary duff.
To ask a question then butt in during the response is so rude!
Never knew her father had illegitimate kids
