Kim, I thought your video was fabulous - you have a wonderful channel with so many great ideas. I was really wowed by seeing that new garden bed get filled with such great texture and color. Thanks for being a part of this!
Thank you, Sydney - I do love working with Coleus, the colors give an instant boost to the garden and are such fun to combine with the flowering perennials.
Beautiful! I like how you emphasize on color and texture from foliage, not relying on just flowers. The color in your garden must be glorious in the golden hours of sunset.
Thank you Jay - I'm definitely a foliage lover, it extends the gardens beauty through all the seasons. The light is really beautiful in early morning and late afternoon, my favorite time to be out in the garden! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, I love watching your videos. ❤
I'm in southern PA too. Angelique Tulips are my absolute favorite too! Thank you for the wonderful inspiration! I use the same colors. I always pop the colors with white flowers
Hi Patti - so glad you stopped by! Nice to find another Angelique lover - most people think they are peonies when they see them in bloom. Maybe we could visit each other's gardens this summer!
My childhood was spent outside Johnstown. My great grandfather died in the Johnstown flood. My dad got his Journalism degree from Pitt. I will watch the videos you've posted. Your garden is so lovely! @@lynnpurse
Thank you so much, Heather - I'm a big fan of yours and how you champion pollinators! You might enjoy my Pollinator Paradise video, something I created for a local Audubon Society meeting.
Great video Lynn, loved it. 🥰 Your garden is truly beautiful. It was so peaceful to look at and the way you film and your music choice are so enjoyable. 🤗
Hi Carol! Yes, I did give a presentation at Lilyhemmer - so long ago! I'm still gardening, I hope you are too! Thanks for watching and commenting - please keep in touch and let me know what you are doing in your garden. ❤
Your garden is absolutely gorgeous, I particularly love the hillside garden. I’m going to borrow your idea of painting the fence a dark colour and paint an old storage shed we have a similar shade, the flowers and shrubs stand out so much. Such a relaxing video 😊
Thank you, Sue. I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am with the fence paint - I think you will be very pleased with the change if you repaint your storage shed. I painted the corner of fence in the video by hand as a test and was so pleased that I then had a company come in and paint the other 300 feet of it!
I enjoyed your video. Your garden is not only pretty but peaceful. Can you tell me what daylilly variety is at 2:25 to the right of the screen? It has a yellow throat, dark and light pink petals with ruffled edges. Thanks
Thank you Anna, so glad you enjoyed it! That daylily is 'Strawberry Fields Forever' hybridized by Stamile in the 1990's (not to be confused with Strawberry Candy)
Hi Mindy, thank you for watching! It looks like we are in similar zones. Since I don't use any chemicals, I pick roses that are pretty disease resistant as well as hardy. I love Austin roses - Eglantyne and Abraham Darby are my favorites but most do well for me. I also love the hybrid musk roses - 'Darlow's Enigma' is a single fragrant white that blooms all summer, can be trained as a climber, and is hardy to z 4. Otherwise, I like the low maintenance shrub roses that are grown on their own roots, like the Flower Carpet and Knockout Series. If you like apricot roses, 'At Last' is a bloom machine and very hardy.
Thank you for watching Nildan! That plant is Penstemon digitalis 'Dark Tower' - the foliage is a dark burgundy/purple and the flowers are very attractive to small pollinators. It blooms with the roses and clematis and the foliage looks great all season.
Hi Mindy. Most daylilies only bloom 3-4 weeks, at least in our zone. Stella D'Oro repeats a lot and any of the Apps daylilies bred from that (Happy Appster line) tend to rebloom too - they like extra fertilizer and enough moisture to do that though. Hope that helps!
Hi Ruth, thanks for asking. It is the flowering stalk of lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina). The bees love it so I always let it flower. And thank you for subscribing ❤
I don't know if that is true or not, honestly. I don't use herbicides here as I garden for pollinators and wildlife. I do appreciate that you care about it enough to comment, perhaps that's a conversation that you should have with Kim on her channel.
Beauty wins again. Thank you
Thank you, Micki!
How wonderful!!!! This garden is a work of art!!
What a kind comment, Ruthie - thank you so much!
Wow! It's truly amazing to see your garden thrive!
Thanks so much Nora! We're starting to get some early bloom here, I was just out in the garden capturing more video☺
That Jaqueline de Pre rose & the Angelique tulip are both STUNNING! I am with you - I LOVE BLUSH PINK TOO❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Sharon! Always good to know that someone else shares my love for blush pink 🥰
So nice and beautiful ❤❤❤❤Thank you 😍

The colors, textures, everything, and even the slopes of your yard is drop dead gorgeous. Love your garden😊.
Thanks so much Farrah- I know you have an eye for color!
Lovely video. I really noticed the great color choices you made with the flowers and the Coleus plants.
Thank you, Sydney - I do love working with Coleus, the colors give an instant boost to the garden and are such fun to combine with the flowering perennials.
Beautiful gardens. Those white tulips 🌷look like roses.
Thank you so much. I love the Angelique tulips and they do look like the roses that bloom in that bed later in the season!

I'm very near the MD border, close to Hagerstown MD. I wonder how close we are. I love visiting other gardens! @@lynnpurse
@@pattijacobs100 oh, not so close - I'm north of Pittsburgh. But who knows, maybe we can make it work sometime.

what roses would you recommend for bloom time and hardiness? I absolutely love your garden
Hi Mindy, thank you for watching! It looks like we are in similar zones. Since I don't use any chemicals, I pick roses that are pretty disease resistant as well as hardy. Lynn, I saw a golden shrub in your grape and lemonade bed. Is that Nandina "Lemon and Lime", or something else? I really like it!
It is Deutzia 'Chardonnay Pearls' - essentially no care needed! It blooms in late spring with the iris, cascades of white blossoms, very beautiful.
Your garden is gorgeous. What is the plant at 2:08 mark?
Thank you for watching Nildan! That plant is Penstemon digitalis 'Dark Tower' - the foliage is a dark burgundy/purple and the flowers are very attractive to small pollinators. It blooms with the roses and clematis and the foliage looks great all season.

Kim uses herbicide in all that grass. That's not responsible with all we know.
