Don’t be sad. Psychologically speaking dreams are just our mind making scenarios and communicating with itself. In a way all the characters on here are just extensions of he wind fish. Wanting to have pets, a family, or leaving the island. In a way Marin, represented the windfishes desire to leave, and she did get that chance after all
You know, as soon as I finished this game for the first time on the Switch and saw the Wind Fish flying in the credits, I immediately thought of Studio Ghibli for some reason. It has those kind of vibes. I’m so glad someone else though of this 😊
to play all instruments on the highest spot on the tal tal mountain as a brat 12 years old was the awesomes epicness moment in my entire life ( sounds bad xD) and i like the mix between new and old music and sounds :D thats how childhood looks like
I was bawling when I finished this game. It happened so suddenly and along with the music, this was one of the best endings to a Zelda game. (I haven’t played the original game before)
Vagabond profile pic checks out :) I played the original many times and this version is just as good. Definitely one of the best zeldas and one of my top personal favorites.
The cutscenes and being able to hear the ballad of the windfish really shine in this remake. I'm really glad so many more people got to experience this game, I'll always remember when I first played it but for some this is their first experience with it and that is wonderful :) it means more love for the series and this game and that is wonderful C:
She said she wanted to be a seagull and at the begging of the last cutscene where link is on the log it shows 2 seagulls which would be Marin and Tarin
Technically, she is still alive in the Zelda lore. Malon from Ocarina of Time was created specifically as a reference to her, from the hair to the age and her ability to charm animals by singing. Also, in Twilight Princess, Link did canonically have children with Malon/Marin. In a sense, she did get her wish to see the world outside Koholint Island and the boy she liked in the end.
This was the game that I fell in love of Legend of Zelda, then Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Minnish Cap, Spirit Tracks and Majora's Mask in that order after that I stopped. I may not a hardcore fan but the games that I played was worth it
If you like A Link to the Past, A Link Between Worlds is an amazing game. It's a spiritual successor/sequel to ALTTP, and it genuinely has some of the best designed dungeons in the entire series imo
So many years later, this is inception before inception. Link plays the music, link, hears the music, and the music is the trigger that brings you out of the dream.
You know, it would be hard for me to want to finish this game. Why should the fish wake up? If you give me some answer about "sleepers must wake up" or something, I can raise you Azathoth, the blind idiot god from the Cthulu mythos, being kept eternally asleep at the center of the universe, as all reality is his dream, and if he wakes up, everything we know vanishes. Also....I don't think Link would be truly happy at the end. He'd want to mourn those he lost. Especially Marin, who let's face it, he may have fallen in love with. Marin was the first girl I think actually had a romantic moment with Link, as the Zeldas of the games released prior to this didn't.
If Link didn't banish the Nightmare, it would have consumed that world and the Wind Fish, potentially leading to a worse outcome. The Nightmare had to go, but doing so would wake the Wind Fish. It was a lose-lose kind of situation from the start. This was the only way Link could save the Wind Fish and preserve the memories of the island in it and himself.
Had Link not woke the Windfish the Nightmares would have taken over the island. So as sad as it is, the only way the island could be saved from that fate was waking the windfish and making it disappear. But Marin does get her wish in the end becoming a seagull and being able to fly to other lands to sing her song.
This is the same hero who will go on to save the Oracles of Ages and Seasons. The one who traveled the dark world and struck down Agahnim and Ganon when none other could. He did what he had to do despite what he may have wanted.
Wait, really? They didn't keep (or at least remix) the classic Windfish sound? That was the best part of the credits, seeing it fly overhead and sound its ethereal call, letting Link know that maybe it wasn't all a dream after all, that some remnant of Marin and all his other new friends still remained... somewhere. That new one sounds like someone is strangling a goose.
In fact if you pay close attention if you hear a sound coming from the windfish but it's very low and it's only once so it's oversevered by the singing of marin
You know this scene wouldn’t look so half assed if they did a 2D cutscene. Imagine this scene but it had better visuals. But it’s the Link’s Awakening remake so effort isn’t a priority.
Only good way to do “ it was all a dream”
Or was it ?
There's a very good Daedalic adventure I'd like to tell you about... but I don't wanna spoil the ending...
The Super Mario Bros 2 ending used to piss me off 😂
Link better write that dream down so he dont forget it in 20 mins
,,Hey Zelda! You know what!?"
,,Oh... wait.., I forgot..., wasn't so important i think.."
@@miguelcrafter2997 NOOO
This wasn't Link's dream, though. So I doubt he'll forget it.
I played this on the gameboy color as a child. I loved it. To see this version with an animated wind fish flying around is incredible.
How this ending ALWAYS breaks me into tears is just *uunnnfff*

@@joserubalcava1811 wow I had never approached it that way. That does make me feel a lot better. This game is such an emotional journey isn’t it?
You’re not the only one my friend. Same here.
Ik me too!!! I was wayyyy to attached to the game
it would be awesome if this was a Ghibli Film... would love to see a Ghilbi x Zelda crossover
You know, as soon as I finished this game for the first time on the Switch and saw the Wind Fish flying in the credits, I immediately thought of Studio Ghibli for some reason. It has those kind of vibes. I’m so glad someone else though of this 😊
The only time I have ever accepted the "It was all a dream" ending to a story.
Looking back at this, when I was a kid, I just felt like I completed a game. Now that I can comprehend the story of it, it's really sad.
for me is the must beautiful song, because i want to cry
This game has such a bittersweet ending… I swear when I finally beat it I almost cried… good memories though
to play all instruments on the highest spot on the tal tal mountain as a brat 12 years old was the awesomes epicness moment in my entire life ( sounds bad xD) and i like the mix between new and old music and sounds :D thats how childhood looks like
I love this version, it's so good!
"LET US AWAKE TOGETHER - PLAY THE SOING OF AWAKENING!!"
This song f*cks me up.
SOMEONE didn't beat the game without getting a game over
It's just PERFECT
These are the dreams I have after I take melatonin.
If it wasn’t a dream I feel like it would’ve taken place after Wind Waker because it’s flooded
WHO DISLIKED THIS VIDEO 😡
They missed the like button, that’s all.
Probably one of the nightmares plauging the windfish.
Those who are displeased with the fact Koholint doesn't truly exist...
@@wantedbird55srandomchannel28 I disrespect them
Well Nintendo could add some animations to the instruments.
😢
why they have to end it off so sad
Looks like you died during the game and didn't get the secret ending :(
they did so fking well on this remake
My cat loves this song. He runs excitedly into my living room whenever he hears it 😂
Sometimes you just don’t want to wake up
so very true.
5 more minutes
...For other reasons

Ik same!!!
Same I was so sad and the song didn’t help so sad
Honestly yeah, this game had a fantastic ending

Extraordinary, yes. But, we were warned by the nightmares

I’m gettin getting chills rewatching this considering this was the game that got me really into the franchise
The opening and ending cutscenes to this game make me want a full-on Zelda anime so bad. A full show animated in that style would be so good
I don't know why, but this song and credits gonna make me cry, and i never play a Zelda game before.
I feel bad that at least Marin couldn't have survived or been real
If i had the full triforce, i would bring the entirity of koholint island and it's inhabitants out of the dream and Marin with it as actual people....
She said she wanted to be a seagull and at the begging of the last cutscene where link is on the log it shows 2 seagulls which would be Marin and Tarin

Next stop: Labrynna 👍
Oh god YES.
Or Holodrum!
I was a kid when i first played this. It was likr 20yrs ago (i think) and this game was the first one to hit my feelings.
wind fish flying at the end - it was all a dream, but the dream is real.
What a fantastic remake, they put so much soul into it
My very first gb game... Loved it next to pokemon games.
Same! This and Blue version were the first games I ever owned.
Man, why are there even dislikes on this video?
This should be arranged as one of the greatest pieces of music to ever be created.
Hate to be that guy, but it doesn't have the punch of the gameboy og :/
I cried my soul out 💓
the ending to this game just reinforces my belief that we need a zelda anime
So many years later, this is inception before inception. Link plays the music, link, hears the music, and the music is the trigger that brings you out of the dream.
I'm not crying, you are.
Also, I am crying.
It hit again like on the GB all these years ago
I just finished the game and I wanna cry but cant
Wont forget u Marin
Every zelda game link is sleeping. He dreams about this game
I just love this game. But the DX version is the best one for me
*baka link island-destroyer* >:(
Is quite notorious for Quite litterally EVIL Easter eggs. Enough so Naming like simply "Stupid" Would be enough Merrit.

Dude, I almost cried hearing this, even though jiving never playing the game, thanks gdq 2019. Or was it 2020?
Was it a dream......or mabey the island really existed in another dimension
you forgot the secret ending one but thats like short so whatever
:(
Wish it showed marins face in sky like in original
They do it here too, but only in the best ending

Links sleeves must have gotten wet then. That sucks
Link then perished at sea
WHY DID I FINISH THE GAME!
It was real

Wind fish is levias son or him is levias
So link died at sea right he had one barral of either food or fresh water so if he did not see land soon that would be a death sentence
Windfish probably saved him?
Well it's better if he doesn't wake up tho,He will die either. At least he died happily in that world
The oracle games came after links awakening, and its confirmed those games have the same link (hero of legends). Id assume he managed to survive
This doesn't sound better than the og.
