Having both hands in your amplifier while it's turned on is very dangerous. Always keep one hand behind your back. Use an alligator clip to keep your negative probe on the ground and you will be much safer.
Thanks for making this video. Very informative. I have an amp with valve issues. It’s under warranty and Thomanns has been superb to deal with. Cheers from NZ 😎🎸🤘
I bought a v140 a few years ago. Just changed all tubes today, and the damn bias ports on the back don't read anything 😢. Never had to use them before so I don't know if it came from the factory not working or something happened between or my tester probes are not going in far enough, but they are like an inch long. Idk . I'm bummed out. I just keeped the bias where it was and hope for the best. Sounds good.
I have a Marshall DSL 40, I changed the main tubes with some new Tung-Sol EL34 Tubes. The highest I could get them to was around 24. Did I get some bad tubes?

Useful And informative, it's always good to de-mystify some of the voodoo about valve amps.

VICTORY AMPLFIERS< can you show in a YT video how to bias and measure the amplifiers SAG, how much SAG the amplifier has?
Biasing was easier on the V30 MKII when I had to do it👍

If you put new valves in that are the same as the originals, do you need to rebias?
Yes, it is something we recommend, sometimes even the same type of tubes can have some differences, Thanks Victory
@@VictoryAmpswhat about if the valves are sold as a “matched pair” ?
Fire the camera man… those close up shots were useless
