Even though, I’m not a huge fan of what Anuel has been dropping recently. His place in the Latin culture is cemented. Every thing he did for the Spanish trap scene created a shift in the puertorrican musical scene.
One of the most dopest artists and rappers right now that respect the culture and has a lot of mainstream appeal is Myke Towers. And I’m huge fan of Eladio Carrión also.

First true PuertoRican hip hop artist from the 90’s was Tempo. He was already singing with Busta Rhymes and Fat Joe on a album titled Boricua Guerrero. Tempo paved the way for these new upcoming artist and he still surviving till this date.

@Gio tayyy see that's the problem it's not just those factions. The corporate executives also had a key in major factor in influencing that direction. It was easier for them to market the genre as it strictly not referred to Black American art forms by mear fact that they were trying to establish an agenda and that was to influence them totally be more to a direction of gangster rap and influence them to turn on us when it came to our acceptance in Hip Hop culture. We need to start combating those very elements and re-establish our claim. Busta rhymes did a did us a huge favor when he did a relief concert years ago in during the aftermath of hurricane Maria and Irma. Where he said and I quote " hip hop music and culture is a creation of black and Puerto Rican people" and he did this in Puerto Rico

@Gio tayyy I understand that and you are correct. Puerto Ricans are considered Latino culturally. But the point I was making is that that considered the most direct link to the origins of what now everybody thinks Hip Hop/Rap music & culture. There's still some people out here that can't stand the fact that they're being considered as being co-originated or connected to the origins. There was a period but they were trying to erase their contributions out of the history of the genre and just strictly defined it as just "Black music/culture" and some people still prefer it that way sadly

I'm Latin, from TX. Only issue I'll ever with these spanish trappers is they don't give homage to Southern artist. I grew up on Memphis, UGK, Kane and Abel, Dirty. Almost every Latino from Houston to NOLA, to Atlanta remembers the era of when the Trap sound was starting to catch fire. It's great seeing this exchange, but give props to 3-6. To Jeezy. Gucci.
