To get into the Bond film, the Lotus PR Manager parked an unreleased Esprit outside of the producers' offices at Pinewood Studios, knowing that it would draw a crowd, and it did. The film wanted that car. Now, manufacturers have to pay for product placement.
@@andrewgreen7778 Really, I thought it was.. I have several versions of the toy car from Corgi at home, and I could have sworn they were labeled Esprit Turbo as well. I just looked it up, and I believe you are correct! Thanks for the info!
@@offcamberautosportshopThe Roger Moore white ‘submarine’ Espirit was an S1 with a 2L 160BHP. The copper colour Espirit in the later Moore Bond film was a S3 2.2L Turbo car. The Pretty Woman silver Espirit was a Peter Stevens S4 Turbo & the Sharon Stone Basic Instinct black & white Espirits were also S4’s. Epic cars all.
I have a customer with his abandoned V8 Esprit in the garage, parked next to the Exige he bought to replace it. I want that car, even though I damn well know it's going to be a nightmare.
Super cool cars! Wait, he abandoned both cars?? While I do not disagree with you on the level of effort, I would have to go for it! It would be soooo much fun to drive once she is running again....
Excellent detailed video about the Lotus Esprit. Bravo!
Thanks - They are truly Lovely cars. Enjoy the Drive, Mo.

Super cool story -- Thanks for sharing!! And yes, now everyone pays! :)
I still want a yellow one.
Good choice!
After that iconic joyride you had Brian... I'd want a yellow Esprit too!💨
Esprit in the spy who loved me wasn't a turbo.

@@SammyM00782 People who buy an Esprit usually regret it. Then they regret selling it even more. 😉
Ferrari (I believe) was asked to supply a car for Pretty Woman but didn’t want to be associated with a sex worker.
HAhaha.. That is funny, and typical Ferrari!
