Don't let the softness of this song fool you. Slade were high energy rockers. Their career basically lasted from 1971 to 1984, although there is still a group out there today called "Slade II" that still contains 2 original members. It's amazing how huge Slade was, everywhere except the USA. I remember these guys were like the second coming of The Beatles but no one in the USA knew who they were. These guys have actually sold something like 50 million records..
Used to live a a mile away from Noddy Holder, bumped into him several times out walking his dogs. Plus met Dave Hill in a guitar shop in Birmingham back in the 80's. Great band...
I urge you to watch the official video, to really capture how badass Noddy and the boys were! Look closely at his face at the very end of the song (in the official video I mean), you can actually almost hear him say..."Retake? : Fuck Off!!" lol. Check out their amazing hit from 75, 'How Does it Feel', the lyrics of which will give you goosebumps.
Noddy Holder is so underrated these days! I'm 18 and I adore 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s music. Noddy is a massive influence, he's got such a powerful, astonishing rock voice!!!
Yup, Oasis, Kiss, Twisted Sister to name but a few who all cited Slade as influence. In fact Noel Gallagher and Dee Snyder both said without Slade there’d be no Oasis or Twisted Sister
no he did not he always slade was his band and he would never go to anyone one else noddy has the best rock voice ever and slade were a very underrated band ever
I have played that gun guitar, when it was on display in Musical Exchanges in Broad Street in Birmingham. I nearly bought it but they were asking too much money as it was ex-Slade. John Birch made with his powerful pickups fitted.
How Does It Feel is really beautiful - but if you want something different with Slade and Noddy's voice - then try this: ruclips.net/video/U0U7wsKWQh0/видео.html

Was far far away and I still play it

Noddy Holder best voice in rock in the 70's
Ozzy Osbourne also said that
He had the best rock voice, ever. IMO

You cant beat a bit of Slade ! loved the early 70's, great track, good choice.
One of rocks greatest frontman vocalists

Noddy Holder. The first man AC/DC called when Bon Scott died. He turned them down.

Hey dude, Slade made a film back in 1975 called "Slade in flame". Well worth a look.
Холдер великий рок вокалист!
its to think they started as a skinhead band and went on to be one of the best glam bands of the 70s
The skinhead thing was just a marketing plan.
They were always rockers!
First Group I Saw Live. Hammersmith 1975……I Was 9.✌🏻🏴😬
I saw them at the Rainbow theatre, fabulous band 👍🏻
@@ronpalmer1371 Proper Memories Sir.✌🏻🤗
Great song Great review. But can we have English subtitles?
Slade influenced Kiss, Ramones, Queen were fans, even Kurt Cobain.
Oasis. Also check out how Cheap Trick got their name!
@@colinlatham7905 seeing Slade use every cheap trick in the book !
Should try Martha My Dear by Slade. (Cover of a paul mccartney song)
Только с возрастом осознаешь какие раньше были высококлассные вокалисты/ музыканты.
Just to add.
Next to No one in the UK will understand what you mean when you say "Bangs".
We say "Fringe".
Sadly it was playback
