Girl, yes, you can make it work, as you always do! When I wear my tapered crochet hair, I part my hair in that big U shape (separating the long on the top from short hair on the sides). Next, I ONLY corn braid the long hair on top. But instead of braiding the rows straight back, I cornrow them circularly (in a beehive). Then I wet my short sides and finger coil them with whatever product works best (curling custard, gel, etc). Then I get to installing the crochet hair. Once done, cut it to your desired shape, and waaalaahhh … let the compliments commence!
