Thank you for putting the plans together. I too had watched Mike Morgan's video build and I like this bench a lot. Having the printed out plans makes it easier than jumping back and forth in the video.
I just finished one from your plans and cutlist. Great job on that. I cut up all the wood one night and put the thing together over the next 3 nights. It weighs a ton but that's what you want in a good bench.
Hey John I really appreciate the comment, that was my hope in making the video. We have a bench that sits out in a field for shooting and another in a barn at family’s house that’s we sit around and put our drinks on. Both have made for quality family time!
Nice build, Jake. I've been looking at several benches on YT and this looks like a nice sturdy bench. Kudos to you and to The Morgans channel for the initial plans. New Subscriber here to show support and to help ya hit 1000 subs. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🤠 1/30/23
Really appreciate the note, all of the tables I’ve built in the last few years are still going strong. Glad to have you as a sub and definitely shooting for the 1k! Cheers
Can you answer one question I have? When you joined the first 2 rectangles together for this project (the 25 X 43's), on one side , you attached the legs to the long side (43). When you attached the next rectangular box to the legs, you attached the legs to the short side (25")? Any particular reason? Just doesn't look right?
I love your "screen name". I Used to love those ads. "What are you wearing, Jake from State Farm?" Ahh, Kahkis and a polo shirt. LMAO. So one of the comments on Mike Morgan's video from one guy said he made the seat supports 25 inches, rather than 20 inches because he said he felt too crowded, and needed to move back from the table. Those are the only thing I haven't cut, because I don't want to do it twice. Did you alter that dimension?
@@tomdoty8334 haha I loved them too, had a State Farm polo and name tag and would wear khakis for Halloween outfits in college. I did not alter that, but I never felt crowded. Worst case you can sell it and have the next table with 25” paid for! I’m gonna ask for feedback from my friends/family to see if they’d prefer more space, thanks for reaching out about it.
So far no complaints! Have made a bunch of them for friends/family/customers and it sits like a picnic table so feels familiar. A lot of changes can be made to to make it better..hooks on the side to hold guns/bags, finish the bottom half for storage under the table, cushions for the chairs etc. Only gripe is about the weight but that’s the con of sturdiness.
We were wanting to do that so it wouldn’t have crevices but ours lives outside in a cow field. If mine was indoors/undercover it’d have a melamine top. That’s my favorite surface to work on.
Hey dude, I use sketchup free. Once you get the hang of it, it’s super helpful. I can try to make a video on it if that’d be helpful. I’ll walk thru the steps of building something
Hey, going to build one myself. You did mention that you were building one for someone. Can I ask how much you charged him for it? Nice set of plans also. I printed them out to do the build, very nice.
I just built this bench yesterday.
At today's prices, at Lowe's I had $188 in all.
Your plans were spot on!
Thank you.
That’s awesome, thanks for the updated price! Hope it brings y’all some quality times

It sure does, I built 3 before getting fed up with going back and forth! Thanks for reaching out Lonnie
How do I download the printable plans. Thanks
@@mikeleiter1233 I just took a screenshot of the video for the cultist.
Good work. 👍
Really like this table , and reflects the more up to date lumber prices . Did a great job . Thanks
Thank you Steve, it’s hurts to buy the lumber for it but it should be around for a long time!

That’s awesome to hear! It definitely weighs a ton but once you get it where it’s going you don’t have to worry!
Great build young man. I have grandkids that are starting to shoot and I told them that I’d build them one. I’ll give this one a try.

I took me longer to build but it came out great. Thanks for posting the video.
@@JLSULev That great John, hope the grandkids enjoy!
Great video. Are you using 3” deck screws? Or 2.5”?
You can use either, I had 2.5 for this one
@@jakefromupstatefarm awesome. Thanks for the reply brotha!

Hey Tom thanks for reaching out. It’s designed like that so you have room to put your legs under while you’re shooting
@@jakefromupstatefarm Thanks jake. I got to thinking that after I wrote the question. I'll blame my old age. LOL

It looks like you went with Mike's 20 inch demension. The guy I mentioned said he went with 25 inches. Sounds like he's very tall?

Good job! Looks nice. How do you like the dimensions? Seat/table hight, distance from table etc...

Building one today for myself. Materials and fasteners came to $160, just gonna go with a 3/8 plywood top.

How do you design plans like this? I’ve been trying to find a simple cad software to do something like this for a similar project

Thanks for the plans, I made one today. With fasteners it was around $145.

Hey Charlie, glad you’re getting good use! I think I charged 400
Looks super heavy
