Firehawk Indy 500's. Had them on my ST, will be putting them on my Mustang. Living in Florida, I only really need to worry about the rain since there are only two seasons down here. Thankfully the 500s are pretty damn good in the rain.
Firestone Indy 500’s are one of the most slept on tires. They handle amazing in everything besides snow. Amazing handling with superb water evacuation. I work for Bridgestone of America and I hate it when I don’t see them mentioned anywhere cause they are genuinely awesome tires.
Thumbs up for Hankook ventus 2's ... I've been riding on them for about 50K miles on my wrx Daily and they still have a couple seasons of tread left and were very reasonably priced. Good in snow rain summer anytime! I blew out about 5 or 6 stock dunlop tires from potholes before researched options then after I switched I haven't blown one hankook yet (knock on wood)
I used to have Michelin Pilot Sport tires on 18" TSW Mirabeau wheels. They were the best tires I ever used, they had INSANE grip and were also very smooth. Only downside is they don't last very long. Totally worth it though! I'm currently using Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires on 20" Work Durandal wheels (As Alex would say, "Stretchy bois"). This setup is still pretty good and sits flush on my Q50 but still will never compare to how great the Michelins were.
I bought the Extensa HP II and drove them for the first time when in the rain, horrible conditions, rain, wind and cold. I tires held up really well! I recommend them.
@@Gave-rf1hr bought mine two years ago and they're still holding up even with daily driving. I just swapped out wheels so they're still on my stock wheels as my back ups just in case. Tread is still good surprisingly
@@Gave-rf1hr I dont launch my car so not too sure about grip, but I dont lose traction at high speeds. As for cornering; they could be better. They grip well but they're screaming the entire time
My set of Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601 tires is an incredible choice for high performance summer, aggressive tread wear, but lasting a lot longer than other tires at the same tread wear
Current tires Winter: Hankook iCept RS2, comfortable and quiet, handle well and are very predictable; wet performance is awesome, you can't even tell wet and dry apart most of the time, dry is ok, steering response is fairly quick though grip isn't on par with summer tyres, but they are always predictable and safe. Snow grip is crazy, I drove over 200km on snow in a day in a variety of conditions and even when I pushed them they never slipped a bit, just some ABS action when hard braking, the car was on rails. Ice performance was really good as well, took pretty fast an off camber corner that was icy and with a bit of ESP help the car followed the line I decided, when I came back that same way a car took that corner and went on the curb pretty hard, whereas I managed to stop in time to not have him hit me. The only negative is the increased fuel usage, down by 1km/l on average compared to my summer tires. Summer: Bridgestone Ecopia EP150, stock tires that came with my car, wish I changed them when I bought it like I usually do, grip is really good in wet and dry and they allow a bit of liftoff oversteer while being controllable, however they're way too harsh for Italian roads, you really notice a difference when switching to winter tires; they are also noisier at higher speeds. They're not bad tires, they're bad for our roads. Might buy a 30+yo Mercedes W124 soon and can't wait to put some fire tires under it!
Car 1: 2017 C7 Z06, OEM tires: Michelin Pilot Super Sport; overwhelmined by the Vette, Sucks in rain, sucks in temps under 50! Car 2. 2019 Mustang Bullitt OEM tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 4s; AWESOME in everything... BUT I just installed CS-11 20" soooo I went with Continental Extremecontact DSW 6. @@jralphroman because it is miles ahead of any other tire you can buy besides a full competition tire. they are absolutely worth the money. dual compounds for both wet and dry weather, very quiet, almost infinite levels of grip, etc. they are 100% a bang for your buck. bang for your buck means best value for money, and with the Pilot 4s you are absolutely getting what you pay for.
@@jralphroman Michelin is known for their treadwear, construction, and performance that doesn't fall off as much as other tire companies as the tire wears. It is for all practical purposes a improved pilot super Sport. Sometimes you actually just do get what you pay for. The Continentals are really nice as well but the wear isn't as good so the price difference when you factor in your time, purchasing, installing, taxes, etc it seems like the Pilot Sport 4S costs at least the same if not less. I just sold my first wheels today but I had some brand new Lexani LXUHP207s in 245/40/18. I absolutely loved them. They gripped in every situation. Never was able go get them loose like I could on my stock wheels with 205/60/16 tires.

For a summer tire. The firestone firehawk indy 500 is a great bang for your buck tire. I’ve got them on my focus. They’re loads better than the Goodyear Eagle F1’s that came on it. More grip, quieter, better in the wet.

I have Nexen N3000, directional 225/45/17. Pretty noisy. They catch on potholes and line cracks in the road. Takeoff pretty mean. Handle great in rain. Take off pretty mean.
On my V36 G35x, got Continental ExtremeContact on 18" Moda Rims. Love it, amazing setup for Montana summers and winters. My Acura RDX has stock rims with Continental PureContact tires. Not as impressed with their winter performance but I'm pretty sure they're a highway tire so it is what it is.
Coming from some old worn Michelin Energy Savers (215 65R17) and just bought the Falken Sincera $134 per tire praying they will work well for my 2014 v6 stang slightly modded in NJ conditions..
I'm rocking Yokohama Advan Sport A/S on my Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V in Colorado, and I can attest those tires are made for all seasons. Grippy as hell in warm dry weather, but still handles good in Colorado snow/ ice.
Thinking of getting these tires for my golf r. I live in Canada. We dont always have snow on the road.. but spring and fall can be pretty chilly some mornings. So i will take your colorado review. After running my winters since late october i probably now need new winters too. I feel like these all seasons will fill the gap nice.
I'd argue the Continental ExtremeContact Sport is currently the king of the value hill for true performance tires with regard to what you pay vs. the performance you get. I've driven about 200k miles on the older Continental DWS and newer DWS 06. I agree with your assessment 100%. It is a respectable performer for an UHP all-season, it's cold weather/cold precipitation performance is exceptional, but it's warm weather performance leaves something to be desired, and the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ is wayyyy ahead of it in the warm performance category (but A/S3+ is pricier). That said, I prefer a true summer performance tire on my fun car and run the PSS and A052.
I Tried ARROYO GRAND SPORTS A/S For The 1st Time On My FWD Ford Fusion 2.0EB 19’ Factory Wheels & It Improved My Handling & Performance! Not Even Exaggerating When I Say It Eliminated Understeer & Tire Squeal!!! Was So Impressed I Put Arroyos On My BMW 535i. Definitely Best Bang For Buck!!!
Nitto NeoGen. My 3rd set on two different VWs (Jetta & CC) Great all around tire especially for the $$ They’ve never failed me....especially when hitting those turns ✌🏽
same with my all season w rated nitto’s on my daily 14’ taurus , great in the snow and ice and have saved my life nearly putting the back end out at 120+ on high roads. 40k miles later and still have some life left. think i paid 270 a tire. They’ve been amazing at reducing understeer 255/45/19. i have a 15’ q50 too with 245/40/19 pirellis and they are pretty decent.
Yokohama advan sports A/S by FAR! Amazing tire I got them on my vq35hr, no slippage in the rain, great on light snow, super quiet tire, annnnnnd 50 thousand mile warranty! Yeah it’s a great budget tire- 265/35r18 🤙🏽
Agreed I ran a set of NS-25s for two years and still had solid tread life on my daily for when I sold my wheels with them still mounted, best bang for your buck for me personally on the market. Now I'm running Toyo R888r on TE37vsl's 😈
225/45 R17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (Live in South Africa so we don't use winter tyres, just need tyres that handle high temps and very wet conditions too).
I scrolled down to see if this comment made it! I ran these on my FRS after some continental DWS from this video! I liked them so much I got more GForce Comp 2 A/S for my GFs 10' Acura TSX. Great tire!
Just installed these on my 370Z a few weeks ago after i blew through a set of Hankooks. Pretty damn good tires, and passing everyone at 80+ mph while its raining and not hydroplaning is fun. lol Good tires for sure
Conti extreme contact best bang for your buck. I live in wisconsin and had to drive my lowered civic si one winter. Between the tires and limited slip diff i was alright.
Summer setup is Sailun Atrezzo ZSR. Very good tire for the money. Winter tire GoodYear UltraGrip ICE2. Running 4th year and just now feel that I do need a new set.
Conti ExtremeContact Sport on the Vette, Yoko S.Drives on the Volvo 240, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studs on the Volvo 240 during the snowy season. Very happy with all of them!
2004 Chevrolet Impala SS (Indy Edition). Stock tire size. Stock 17' wheels. P235-55R-17, Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires. And I dig them. They hold on great!
Toyo celsius is an amazing tire for the price as well. They have more focus towards that 4th season too, they practically sell themselves in Connecticut where I work. A bunch of the people who work there including me run them on our cars too.
@@LostinMIA they haven't ive always had expensive tires. The one time I got a cheap set I got nankang ns 25 a year ago theyre already worn to shit and one just completely separated it was about to blow out when I it the tire shop
205/50 15 Nitto Neo Gens on 15x7 +35mm Advanti Storm S1 Tires are excellent, sometimes even hard to break loose (although I’m driving a Miata) I live in South Carolina and don’t have snow
Nick Johnson How is there warranty and customer service? How is there tread life? Are they good in the rain? I'm considering getting the Nitto Neo Gens.
Been with Caldera Confidence C3s. 195/65 R15. Not too many miles, maybe about 1-2k miles but they're amazing in the short time I've been using them. Dry traction is very good, wet traction is pretty good too. It's somewhat soft tread, at a 460 rating, I can take corners around 70-75 mph in my 90 Ford Escort GT where other people would slow down to 60ish. Tread design is flowing and elegant, for an all season tire.
245/40 r18 Lexani 207s FTW! Man I was surprised! I chose them as temporary tires, but I am (so far, 3 months) impressed. Maybe, come rain season I may get myself some Michelin's, but I wont scoff Lexani anymore.
bridgestone potenza re980as 245/40r18 on my 17 sti. got them for $411 installed because i work at firestone. if you’re a car guy, a job at a auto care place is AMAZING with the discounts lol

I remember there being a couple different treadwear ratings on these htr's
2002 yukon toyo s/t 295/45r20 grip for days not the best on ice of course but i wasnt getting stuck in snow anytime soon. 275/55r20 toyo Celsius cuv dry grip i noticed not as good as s/t and i would say two steps down on the wet very forgiving on ice and snow doesmt want me going out of a straight line rear end slides a bit but then grips your ear like grandma when you skipped school in 7th grade. so far miss my s/t overall great performance!
Neelay Amin it’s pretty nice actually. I was surprised, a little more under steer than I would like but that’s just the Subaru I think more than the tires
Bridgestone Potenza RE980 A/S. Best purchase I made for my mazdaspeed3. Get decent snow here and the roads are not the greatest. They work great all year!
I've only recently changed cars, but had used Uniroyal Loredos All Seasons on my Highlander for over 2 years. It's made my Michelin and it feels like one too. Went on multiple snowboard trips with them. No problem on snow at all. Got them at BJ's for $102 each. They have the Uniroyal All Seasons without 'Loredo Touring' for only $99 each as well. Now I'm on Michelin LTX M/S2 on a 4Runner, and they feel amazing on the pavement. About to get some snow on them so maybe I'll update this. The tires came with the truck. I'm looking to upgrade to either Falkin Wildpeak AT3W or Hankook Dynapros.
General Altimax RT43 on my 2007 Mazda CX-9 Grand touring. Mine is fwd and these tires actually are good for the snow. As long as there is no ice and just snow these tires plow through it as if I have AWD.
595ss on stock Scion FR-S are fun and enough grip to have confidence when performance driving 595 RS super grippy and makes the car more controllable but not as fun in my opinion since the car doesent have the power to get sideways haha
i just got Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2s (215/45R17 $90 per piece from BJs) yesterday (3/10/2021) and i immediately felt the difference in over all handling and ride quality. they are considerably smooth and absorbs road noice and small bumps a lot better than FIRESTONE FR740 tires i had earlier. I would say that the difference is also partly because firestones were old and new ones obviously going to make a difference but by initial impressions i m very happy and satisfied. I heard snow performance of V2s is not so good. let see how they do next year. BTW i pulled more than 92K miles from firestones and they only got punctured once in their life time and never gave me a single problem. i spent 1.5 years in CT and 3 years in chicago with them. I can surely recommend that to anyone looking for all season sport tires
Got factory Pilot sport 4s but they’ll be getting replaced with something else because they’re like over 300 a tire lol. Fucking amazing tires though. Best tires I’ve ever driven on.
@@bencapone848i’m looking for something for my awd q50 infiniti. i have winter tires so i’m just looking for some good ones for mostly high speed grip, would those be my best bet ? not trying to spend over 900
Milestar ms932. Less than $70 a piece and they're honestly better than any of the cooper and master crafts I've put on my vehicles before. Definitely recommend if someone needs cheap tires that hold up well
Imagine... Alex and Linus does the biggest RUclips crossover ever. Just think about it, seeing those two talk at the same time will make your brain hurt. 😂😂
My summer setup on my Focus RS is 235/35R19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, and during the winter I run 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. It only snows 3-4 times a year in my area and it always melts in a day or two so I'm not that concerned with snow performance, but it does get to cold for summer tires but we have enough temperature fluctuations during the winter that winter tires would experience excess wear (it's tough when the high is 65° and the low is 30°)
Continental dws06 245/45r18. Dry traction is great, especially in the corners, and great wet traction. 2006 gto that sees 30 passes a week at the drag track when open, spirited driving atleast one day a week, and corner carving atleast once a month
As a person living in wisconsin I use the all weather Nokian WRG4 tires. They are amazing in the cold snowy winters and handle great in warm hot midwest summers

I kinda wanted the Pilots too but there are others that catching my eye but now idk 🤷🏾♀️
how long do the contenentals last ?
I Tried ARROYO GRAND SPORTS A/S For The 1st Time On My FWD Ford Fusion 2.0EB 19’ Factory Wheels & It Improved My Handling & Performance! Not Even Exaggerating When I Say It Eliminated Understeer & Tire Squeal!!! Was So Impressed I Put Arroyos On My BMW 535i. Definitely Best Bang For Buck!!!
Nitto NeoGen.
My 3rd set on two different VWs (Jetta & CC)
Great all around tire especially for the $$
They’ve never failed me....especially when hitting those turns ✌🏽
same with my all season w rated nitto’s on my daily 14’ taurus , great in the snow and ice and have saved my life nearly putting the back end out at 120+ on high roads.
General tire G-Max as-05. Great tire for a good price
I used nankang ns-25 tries. Best bang for my buck. No issues, ride is good. It snows like crazy up here.
Agreed I ran a set of NS-25s for two years and still had solid tread life on my daily for when I sold my wheels with them still mounted, best bang for your buck for me personally on the market. Now I'm running Toyo R888r on TE37vsl's 😈
MICHELIN Pilot Sport A/S 3+
wheelsonbus27 yes
Me too!
Same!
Mee
225/45 R17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (Live in South Africa so we don't use winter tyres, just need tyres that handle high temps and very wet conditions too).
Bfgoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S
I scrolled down to see if this comment made it! I ran these on my FRS after some continental DWS from this video! I liked them so much I got more GForce Comp 2 A/S for my GFs 10' Acura TSX. Great tire!
Just installed these on my 370Z a few weeks ago after i blew through a set of Hankooks. Pretty damn good tires, and passing everyone at 80+ mph while its raining and not hydroplaning is fun. lol Good tires for sure
Good tires just keep up with your rotations because they tend to chop easily.
Run these on my 2011 SS and they are amazing as always. I have always seen BFG's have always done the job better
Run the same and I have yet to use them in any extreme weather, but hoping they do fine when it comes to snow lol, I have 275/35zr18
I'm diggin my Arroyos. Grips the road very well and much less road noise than the Michelins that were on before.
I'm gonna take a chance and take those Hankook tires on my old 98 A4 for a ride. Been searching for decent tires for long drives.
Chance... Hankook are top shelf, Premium tires nearly everywhere.
Milestar XP932+
Such a great budget sport tire.
I’m running 245 front, 275 rear.
All season tire, 30k miles in, and it still looks good
I needed this. My tires scare the shit out of me in this rain
Conti ExtremeContact Sport on the Vette, Yoko S.Drives on the Volvo 240, and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 9 studs on the Volvo 240 during the snowy season. Very happy with all of them!
Fp ohtsu tires “ohtsu is falkens sister brand” $208 for a set of 4 shipped to my house in 2 days best bang for buck
Ran 225/40zr18 gt radial champiro 328s on my 08 wrx and loved them, had great grip on that car
NANKANG GANG ❤️
@@LostinMIA they haven't ive always had expensive tires. The one time I got a cheap set I got nankang ns 25 a year ago theyre already worn to shit and one just completely separated it was about to blow out when I it the tire shop
Picked up a set of Yokohama advan sport a/s with xxr 530’s and I am in love. Best budget wheels and tires imo.
235/35 r19 pilot super sports
Love them but they do cost an arm and a leg. Totally worth it if you actually put them to use though.
205/50 15 Nitto Neo Gens on 15x7 +35mm Advanti Storm S1
Tires are excellent, sometimes even hard to break loose (although I’m driving a Miata) I live in South Carolina and don’t have snow
Nick Johnson How is there warranty and customer service? How is there tread life? Are they good in the rain? I'm considering getting the Nitto Neo Gens.
Firestone Indy 500s during the summer, Firestone Weathergrips during the winter here in good ol Michigan
Tread design is flowing and elegant, for an all season tire.
toyo R1R i am in love with how they look
245/40 r18 Lexani 207s FTW!
Man I was surprised! I chose them as temporary tires, but I am (so far, 3 months) impressed. Maybe, come rain season I may get myself some Michelin's, but I wont scoff Lexani anymore.
The background music really adds to the mood
Summer setup BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp 2 tires . Winter setup Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 Tires.
Firestone indy 500s are amazing for the price.
Theorcman2008 I’m rockin the same tired on my car to
Agree
Facts! Best bang for buck summer rubber
I had to get the Bridgestone equivalency because they had the Firestone backordered
The only thing about them is they wear kinda fast .
bridgestone potenza re980as 245/40r18 on my 17 sti. got them for $411 installed because i work at firestone. if you’re a car guy, a job at a auto care place is AMAZING with the discounts lol
225/40r17 Sumitomo HTR Z3. I love them
I had a pair of sumi htr 18's on my m45... AWESOME TIRES
I have some of these, but the tread wear is absolutly garbage. I need new tires again after less then 10k miles.
@@joedirte9343 sounds like steering/suspension/alignment issues. I put 50k on mine before replacing. Rotated every 5k. Always X to the drive wheels
@@mikeschaner5853 I put mine on a brand new set of wheels and had the car aligned immediately afterwards.
@@joedirte9343 sounds like you got either a bad alignment, or maybe just a 2 wheel and not a 4 wheel. Or maybe defective tires... Put these on my m twice, the fx is gettin em and the g will get them in the spring. Contact sumitomo. 10k on these htr's is defective. Maybe also double check the treadwear rating. I remember there being a couple different treadwear ratings on these htr's
Good to know .....I just picked up a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 for my 2014 chevy ss....and I love them
Love my DWS06 Continentals. Just don’t throw them into a turn too hard or they roll onto the sidewall and scuff them up.
2014 bmw 528i f10 Perelli p7 went a little over 70k miles on origional tires
2002 yukon toyo s/t 295/45r20 grip for days not the best on ice of course but i wasnt getting stuck in snow anytime soon. 275/55r20 toyo Celsius cuv dry grip i noticed not as good as s/t and i would say two steps down on the wet very forgiving on ice and snow doesmt want me going out of a straight line rear end slides a bit but then grips your ear like grandma when you skipped school in 7th grade. so far miss my s/t overall great performance!
i actualy run the Toyo Extensa HP IIs. Great tire, and looks fantastic
How’s the cornering performance, snow driving and road noise? I am planning to buy them for my type R!
Neelay Amin it’s pretty nice actually. I was surprised, a little more under steer than I would like but that’s just the Subaru I think more than the tires
225/45/17 Michelin pilot sport as/3 +. They have exceptional grip in the rain and dry, would recommend
Continental Extreme Contact. Love em! Thanks FI
how do they do in corners ? do they slide a lot ?
Bridgestone
Potenza RE980 A/S. Best purchase I made for my mazdaspeed3. Get decent snow here and the roads are not the greatest. They work great all year!
Firestone Indy 500s
indy500 for the win. Hang with the pilot 4s. half the price. sticky as shit and they look great on some wide wheels!
It was between the 500s or pilot 4s. Went with the pilot 4s but maybe ill try the indys next!
MF Vomitspit yeah brotha, give them a try, you’ll be very surprised!
They came on my car when I bought it. Not gonna pretend like I have anything else good to compare them to, but I love them.
Todis51 same on my FiST
I’m running linglong crosswinds from Walmart and they really surprise me with how much grip they have.
Bruh got the ling longs
General Altimax RT43 on my 2007 Mazda CX-9 Grand touring. Mine is fwd and these tires actually are good for the snow. As long as there is no ice and just snow these tires plow through it as if I have AWD.
595ss on stock Scion FR-S are fun and enough grip to have confidence when performance driving
595 RS super grippy and makes the car more controllable but not as fun in my opinion since the car doesent have the power to get sideways haha
i just got Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2s (215/45R17 $90 per piece from BJs) yesterday (3/10/2021) and i immediately felt the difference in over all handling and ride quality. they are considerably smooth and absorbs road noice and small bumps a lot better than FIRESTONE FR740 tires i had earlier.
Unknown So put them on again! Don’t settle for worse performance!
Indy 500s my man, can hang in with them and depending on the size are about $100/ea

I'm running 245/45r17 falken azenis RT615K+ tires on my 2003 bugeye and am loving it so far.
I run Achilles ATR sport tires. $50-$60 each on Amazon.
225/45/17 fronts left Riken and front right contenitles used ,
Rears both kelly edge
It only snows 3-4 times a year in my area and it always melts in a day or two so I'm not that concerned with snow performance, but it does get to cold for summer tires but we have enough temperature fluctuations during the winter that winter tires would experience excess wear (it's tough when the high is 65° and the low is 30°)
I’m running Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 on my gram lights, grippy bois
Running Nitto Invo 295/35r20 front and 315/35r20 on the rear of my 2015 Camaro 2SS, has the Z28 style wheels, completely murdered out.
Achilles atr sport 2 they good good and cost me 250 the set of 4...can’t beat that
Continental dws06 245/45r18. Dry traction is great, especially in the corners, and great wet traction. 2006 gto that sees 30 passes a week at the drag track when open, spirited driving atleast one day a week, and corner carving atleast once a month
4 snow tires (215-60 R16) while im supposed to be in (205-55 R-16) so when I hit a bump my tire hits my fender 😳
As a person living in wisconsin I use the all weather Nokian WRG4 tires. They are amazing in the cold snowy winters and handle great in warm hot midwest summers
my tire setup: stock fr-s prius tires 🙃 love ittt
Jarred Woods yo same, cant wait for the snow to come
I have a scat pack charger and I am running a stagger set up.
Up front I have
275/40/20
NITTO nt 5555 G2
In the rear I have
315/35/20
NITTO NT 555 R2
With my current set up I daily it and I still go to the strip and have my weekend fun with it!
