Agree....more than the "piano" man-check; but also MORE than "the composer": It is Ukr-Russian genius and billionaire Igor Krutoi, who saw one of Dimash's performances and actually came out of retirement just to work with Dimash. Yes, he composed the song, but then worked with Dimash on that rendition. Krutoi can be seen giving Dimash a standing ovation in the audience after "Sinful Passion". Thereafter, the collaboration. Krutoi often accompanied Dimash at subsequent performances....
I've never before heard anyone sing in vocal fry so beautifully. It's astonishing, really. I can't lecture you about Dimash's singing, but I *can* provide some narrative insight you may have missed for this song. There are three sections. In the first and longest, Dimash is addressing the audience, describing his dream-like love. In the middle section, Dimash *lives* the dream. Notice he disengages from the audience; his eyes are closed, then he opens them and looks up. The audience has ceased to exist for him. In the final section, he wakes, notices the audience again, then tells them how the dream made him feel. Which is energized! We receive the same message delivered three different ways. Strangely, I hear an echo of what the US military teaches its officers about how to conduct a briefing. "Tell them what you'll tell them. Tell them. Then tell them what you told them." The point is to never let the briefing audience escape without knowing what the message was. I'd say we got Dimash's message loud and clear. At the piano is none other than Igor Krutoy himself. The score has been rewritten for Dimash. And man, is it beautiful. This is one of my all-time favorites from this remarkable duo. Classical composers never had a singer like Dimash. Classical parts are neatly divided into basso profundo, baritone, tenor, countertenor, contralto, mezzo-soprano, several different styles of soprano. Composers were limited by their understanding of what their singers could do. Krutoy *is* a classical composer, albeit one influenced by modern trends in music. With Dimash, he can now write music like nothing we've ever heard before. Imagine what a composer like Mozart could have done if he'd had Dimash to work with. If only!
It was the concert-present for 75th birthday of Alla Pugacheva and all singers were singing the songs of her repertoire. "Love is like a dream" was Dimash's present 🙂👍🎼💥

If I mentioned Düsseldorf - Dimash sang there "The Love of Tired Swans" too and added a stunningly beautiful acapella improvisation part to the end...😍💗

Dear Maggie, yes there is an Igor connection. He composed this song the year Dimash was born and Alla was the original singer with Igor playing the piano for her. This event was to honor her and Igor told the audience that he had asked Dimash to bring new life to the song for new generations and you hear what he did.
Every single time I listen to this song, as soon as the "Ave Maria" part starts, full-body goosebumps. I've watched 2 Dimash reactions today. The first made me cry and this just made all of my hair stand on end.

I think the most impressive part about that last nite wasn't necessarily how long it was, but the fact of how long he hit that E5, so I've been told that's what it was, straight note part before the vibrato kicked in!! Not a crack or break whatsoever!!!

I am a Greek friend from Kazakhstan and I know all Kazakhs very well and what kind of people they are. And I admire Dimash and is an ardent fan of him even though I am already 65 years old.
This Concert was a birthday celebration for Alla. Dimash performed it as a tribute for her birthday. Igor wrote this / Alla performed this about 25 years prior... and Dimash was about 25 years old at the time of this performance. Dimash mentioned in an interview that he changed it a bit, to be from a man’s perspective... and hoped he did it justice. Best wishes from Canadian Dear.

The refrain phrase that is the title of this song- "Love like a dream" - is repeated 6 times. And each time it is sung differently. And each time, the singing style matches the rest of the lyrics and structure of the song. To be honest, this fact impresses me no less than the incredible breath control using almost a whisper; entering the territory of the soprano with the" angelic "sound of " Ave Maria"; or the powerful vocal" tsunami " in the final. Thank you for bringing forward the original version. It is also beautiful (the song itself is beautiful and both performances were lovely). Because of Dimash’s incredible range, I am often intrigued and will listen to the originals in order to hear how Dimash adapted the music to accommodate his vocal abilities. He is so soulful and touching when he performs - amazing! Another favourite from Dimash.
As always, you are so expressive, but you are also professional and very, very emotional (romantic) ! This is your charm, your naturally charm ! Hello Maggie! I loved this song because Dimash so angels voice sing on stage. He is so sing so deep and clear it was very low notes just listen like.He is sing how very it was amazing and long very high notes it was 18 seconds sing without breath!:)))))

Will always and everywhere surprise in different ways, I love our modest and kind person, he is such a cool person and a singer)) Once I watched his solo concert in Arnau Tour in New Erk, he walked for 3 hours, and that is, Dimash sang all the songs for 3 hours. The concert was incredible, how many people were just to the maximum, everyone listened to each other, and so on. There were no fights. It was of course that our girlfriend gave Kurt a favor. This is when Dimash sang kurt to his Dear ones, he threw for 10,000 dollars a not small round sum! In general, the concert was awesome! It's a pity that I didn't look at the footage!)))))
Did anyone mention this? Just before the end, at the beginning of that lonnnnnnng-held note, he seems to expel about half a lung's worth of air! And then he holds that note beyond the beyond!! And then there is the rest of Dimash, too!! Yes, shookething, for sure!
The strain it takes to hold his breath to full capacity might tire him out more as he sustained the note the way he did (very little air exhaled throughout). The fact that he knows how much breath he needs to hold to optimally sustain the note is mind-boggling considering IT'S LIVE. The sheer amount of practice and dedication this guy has is-

Haha yes, this song used to be famous. Now, to sing the lower part in the beginning is the most challenging, how to make the flat notes sounds good (aka not dull) is harder than the later part. Dimash really showed how much control he has over his voice to make it sounds heavenly like that.

Awesome reaction!!! When you were looking at the video of Alla singing this song, I though you might recognize the pianist. Igor Krutoy wrote this song the year Dimash was born, and Dimash took it to the next level.
It is funny how I was looking for all your past reactions to Dimash to watch them again, because for some reason I didn't get the notification for this one. So looking for your reactions by date, BOOM! I found it... only 3 hours ago! Dimash likes to add his own "signature perfection" to evey single cover he performs. Notice the addition is at the beginning, in the mid section, and at the end! I think that's the reason why songs that haven't been in the spotlight for decades, now listeners from all ages start to enjoy them again as if were the first time. Will always and everywhere surprise in different ways, I love our modest and kind person, he is such a cool person and a singer)) Once I watched his solo concert in Arnau Tour in New Erk, he walked for 3 hours, and that is, Dimash sang all the songs for 3 hours. The concert was incredible, how many people were just to the maximum, everyone listened to each other, and so on. There were no fights. It was of course that our girlfriend gave Kurt a favor. Haha yes, this song used to be famous. Now, to sing the lower part in the beginning is the most challenging, how to make the flat notes sounds good (aka not dull) is harder than the later part. Dimash really showed how much control he has over his voice to make it sounds heavenly like that.

Dimash likes to add his own "signature perfection" to evey single cover he performs. Notice the addition is at the beginning, in the mid section, and at the end! I think that's the reason why songs that haven't been in the spotlight for decades, now listeners from all ages start to enjoy them again as if were the first time.
