Makes sense when you consider how the light novels were originally written. Basically, the first volume covers the very beginning where Kirito runs from Klein, then skips to the later floor (73? 74?) where he is fighting a lizard man solo. All the side stuff in between, including this, is all volume two, written afterwards. It's a retcon.
Tho you have to think In most of those cases in fact all the cases he was fighting high level bosses that could probably do 1k damage a hit at least with huge swords or giant claws in any game a player won't be able to do much damage especially if they are just pking players all the time you wouldn't be leveling up like you would if you where to be fighting monsters

The bar would slowly go up, unless his health is like 70k where it wouldn't be noticeable. The only problem with that theory is that the auto regeneration skill would most likely scale with his health as he levels up so it would still be noticeable. Otherwise the skill is just useless.

From the personality of the characters, to the understanding of game mechanics, to the basis for the plot, to the understanding of basic human behavior, relationships, or literally anything… SAO Abridged basically outclasses the original in everything but runtime, and even that is arguably to it’s credit as it cuts out a lot of dead space.

A bit of backstory: He played a vr game previously that turned out to be a trap made by the developer. Said developer trapped him along with countless others in the game and if you died in the game or attempted to remove the vr device you would die in real life. It took them over 2 years to get out. Despite being trapped in a virtual world previously he still chose to play in other vr games eventually now that they're safe. Because he spend so much time in a virtual world and because he was originally a beta tester he has incredible swordsmanship skills and great game mechanic knowledge. The vr game he's currently playing has no real danger but players can still be killed in game and looted though the attacker will be marked as a player killer for a few weeks for doing so. Even though there's no real threat his good nature made him stand up against these goons with his skills and basically says he doesn't care if he's branded a player killer for a few weeks for defending the innocent. The series is called Sword Art Online and I HIGHLY recommend it.
At this point, they're still in SAO. The player killer guild doesn't believe people are dying in RL when they're killed in the game. Kirito is there to help out the little girl, but he's really hunting this player killer group and hoping they'll try to ambush him so he can arrest them and shut down their group.

Said developer trapped him along with countless others in the game and if you died in the game or attempted to remove the vr device you would die in real life. It took them over 2 years to get out. Despite being trapped in a virtual world previously he still chose to play in other vr games eventually now that they're safe. Because he spend so much time in a virtual world and because he was originally a beta tester he has incredible swordsmanship skills and great game mechanic knowledge.
The vr game he's currently playing has no real danger but players can still be killed in game and looted though the attacker will be marked as a player killer for a few weeks for doing so. Even though there's no real threat his good nature made him stand up against these goons with his skills and basically says he doesn't care if he's branded a player killer for a few weeks for defending the innocent.
The series is called Sword Art Online and I HIGHLY recommend it.
At this point, they're still in SAO. The player killer guild doesn't believe people are dying in RL when they're killed in the game. Kirito is there to help out the little girl, but he's really hunting this player killer group and hoping they'll try to ambush him so he can arrest them and shut down their group.
wait, you highly recommend the mess that is the original sao instead of the abridged? the abridged made by something witty entertainment is better in every possible way as a story. the only downside to the abridged version is the production speed but the insane quality makes up for it quite well. best part is that the abridged is free to watch on youtube legally.

@@theprettypetard2524 The 'Abridged' version is only good because the original was good. The Abridged version is funny, but it makes the main character into a whiny, bratty, arrogant asshole. Whereas the original Kirito is far kinder and has some depth and compassion to his character, the Abridged Kirito is grating to listen to and would be insufferable to be around.
Sure, that sort of thing makes for a lot of snappy one liners, but it's like they were trying to recreate Vegeta from DBZ Abridged without Goku to act as a foil to his brash and boorish attitude.

also what depth are you saying the original kirito has? kindness and compassion aren't really depth. the dude had basically zero default and hardly any struggles. the character was so bland you likely wouldn't believe anyone like him actually existed for real. there is hardly any growth from the original for so long despite the load of things that served little purpose that the abridged repurposed to great use.
