    Big news!
We're going to have our first Zoom meeting for our online community on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
Zach and I will have the meeting open from 2pm - 6pm CDT. I hope this window is big enough so that those of you in other countries can find a good time to stop by.
Some of our local friends will be dropping in throughout the meeting. Our goal is to get to know you, and talk about whatever you would like to discuss.
Send me an email to jon@@t if you want the link and the passcode. See you soon :)

In my life, I make a distinction between making a sacrifice and being unworthy to make a sacrifice,; which is why I could never practice hyper-Calvinism. In order to give something up, I have to remember that I have some inherent worth, simply because God loved me first. From this point, I am truly a free agent and capable of making sacrifices of self, for the purpose of becoming closer to God and eventually, a citizen of Heaven. Luther understood his medieval monastic misunderstanding 'I am but a worm' theology gets in the way of intimacy, because to maintain this level of worthlessness, you must revisit it constantly; especially when confronted by other Christians, testing your identity in Christ.

I read some Luther in seminary but I’m not a Luther scholar. Do you remember where he says this? I’d like to read the section

@@withjonadams - i am afraid it has been about 30 years since I've read any Luther. I do remember that his comment was made before he left the Catholic Church and lead to his Solas.
