I really appreciate that you guys don’t handle the fish too much. I’ve seen lots of fly fishing videos recently where the guys seem to spend 10 minutes posing with the fish. Thanks for showing good catch & release.
Beautiful fish. Heck of a creek. It must be nice to be able to go fishing. We are now under order we can't even go hiking or fishing in Oregon due to this nonsense virus. It's unreal what a huge abuse of power. Can't even go fishing. What a better way to "social distance" I mean whatever. I miss fishing. This makes me appreciate your videos more than ever. Thank you.
Though I am in British Columbia, Vancouver to be exact I heard Washington state is closed for fishing also, though fishing is not banned in British Columbia most access roads are blocked for sure all the lakes and rivers recreation sites, parks are closed around metro vancouver, so sad ,
Awesome video. I really like the content you guys produce. All of the background information you give in detail and describing what you are using and how you got to where you caught fish is very insightful and inspiring. Both of your attitudes and willingness and patience are all visible throughout the content. Hope to see some browns like that this season. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Great fishing in W.Va ! Its so good to get away from the world for a while and do some fishing. I screwed up my knee and have not been able to go for 5 weeks. Old age is tough when you love to fish.
What a fish the fact that you guys have history chasing that brown and finally a year later get to put the fish in your net makes it all the more rewarding. Great video as aways what u guys bring to the table is just as like that trout pure gold.
Wonderful job as always. Glad you are back full time in WV. Good to see you yanking out those big fish again. Almost to 10K. Amazing growth and story behind the build up of your channel. Well deserved. I also have the Lamson Liquid reel, so fist bump to that :) Tight lines man!
That big brown was awesome!!!! I have a small 12-15 ft stream out here in western Ny right by my house. There is a 20” brown or bigger that holds in this one big pool. I had him follow a spinner once but he spooks easy. If I ever catch him he’s dinner! I catch and release as much as I can but this guy I have got to take for dinner.......
Great vid: no hotspotting, no over the top hooting and hollering, and you really put the wood to those fish and fought/landed them responsibly. Regreshing to see. Well done.
Another awesome video man omg! 😂😂😂 them browns were tanks!!!! Lol I need to develop the patience to throw some meat!😭 this spring hopefully I’ll really get my streamer game going! After that big rainbow and me almost passing out as it hammered my bugger 😂 I really wanna throw some big streamers now lol😂😂😂😂 tightl lines man keep up the great footage and videos! Them browns are absolute tanks!
LOTS of patience man. And it takes a long time to get good enough to feel comfortable throwing them for 10 hours a day and keep your confidence. I wish you the best of luck and thanks for watching!
I’d be happy walking ten miles to catch a brown like that 😍. Man all those fish had shoulders on them. Kinda surprising given the size of the water. With Browns it can be hard to tell but you know your looking at a chunky one when they get those ripples on them 😂😂. Nice work guys 💪
I bought my first St Croix 7.5', 3W back in 93 and absolutely love it. I now have 5 different lengths/weights and won't buy anything else. In my opinion, they are just as good as the $500+ "name brands" on the market. I had the misfortune of breaking the tip on my 6' 3W. Mailed it to them and they had a new tip back to me within 3 weeks at no cost except shipping! Nice browns fellas! Loved the "not a bad fish" comment lol. New subscriber here and look forward to seeing more. And good on ya' for trying to protect the location. Here in NC it's getting harder and harder to keep my waters secret. I have one brookie stream that I've been fishing for years and haven't seen signs of anyone else. Have to hike about 5 miles to get there but it's worth it!
Well in this video I was throwing sinking line and my brother threw floating line and our success rates were identical. I think in small creeks it is more about your own comfort level. Andrew threw slightly heavier flies to offset his floating line and I threw sinking line with lighter flies. I could go way more in detail with this but it's far more important that you get the fly in front of the fish (whatever that depth may be). However you accomplish this is up to you.
Holy gila monsters, that 24"er was a "Brownzilla". He might finally decide to bail that zone now that he knows the Hardman Bros. are wise to his lie. Good shit guys! 🐟🧠
I absolutely LOVE your videos. You guys fish some amazing water and obviously love what you are doing. You seem to be very knowledgeable, respectful, and conservative from an environmental standpoint and that is just awesome. I both love and hate that you blurred out where you were fishing. As an an avid trout fisherman, I would love to know where you are, but I 100% respect and support you not broadcasting it because I wouldn't give my fishing locations up for anything. Great job gentlemen!
Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot that people enjoy the videos. And I am sorry about the blur... when I originally edited it I didn't add in blur and I realized that a few years ago I would've searched high and low for the spots in this video. So I either didn't post the video or I blurred out a few parts. I'm glad you understand! Again thank you so much for the support on the channel and for watching the video!!
I really enjoy all your videos. Those browns were amazing. I was born and raised in Webster County but moved away before I had even heard of fly fishihng. Do you every fish any in Webster County. Now that I fly fish I need to pay WV a visit again. Thanks for the great entertainment.
Thank you! And no not usually. But I just fish the areas I fish because that's the general area I'm from and It is some of the closest water. It also happens to be excellent fishing.
Great fish. My only question is once you have a big one on and start stripping in your line and eventually get all your slack line off so now all line is on the reel, why not just play it on the reel at that point versus stripping the line back off the reel to get the fish in?
That is EXACTLY what I asked him when I was editing the video (the dude who caught the fish was my brother and I netted it). His response was "My reel's drag is broken and slips from time to time so I don't trust it. I try to fight all of the fish and use my hands/fingers as a drag system." Hope this helps!
Just got on your channel! Can you make a video on what kind of water you fish and what you walk past! Or is it that you just chuck at every hole possible? It'd help a ton for when to throw streamers!
Beautiful fish my man . I love how you find em in small creeks up where I live there arnt to many watersheds with wild browns but the ones that have them they don’t grow like that I have to fish big water to find them here In NH. I’m curious as to why they are in these small creeks where You are ? Seeking refuge in the cold water maybe.. I’d be interested in shooting the shit with you man . I’m looking to move south an start guiding to many guides around my small state to make a living
New Hampshire Natives on the fly man there’s so much going on in these creek it’s kind of crazy. Cold water is part of it but it also has to do with different species of fish spawning and water flows. Once you figure it out it is very rewarding. Thanks for watching!
We use a Panasonic Lumix G9. Just got it in December, all of the 4K videos (or just the ones in higher quality) are shot with this camera. The others are usually just iPhone and GoPro. Thanks for watching!
Well in this video I used sinking line and Andrew used floating line. As you can see the results didn't really differ. We usually throw 3-6 foot leaders depending on water clarity.
I can't believe this river is still producing fish like this. I figured there would be a ton of pressure there, now that the word is out. Are you seeing other people?
What kind of fly line are you using? Also, im having trouble getting my zonker fly to sink without adding split shot because the bead head isnt enough to sink all of the bouyant material on the fly. Is that a regular practice or am I doing something wrong.
Well most streamers you really have to get wet before they work properly. All of the materials should sink once they truly get wet. So the first advice I'd give is take the streamer to the water and work the material through the water (with your hands if necessary) to get them wet. If you're still having trouble then you can either use weighted line or add split shots. That is kind of up to personal preference. If you're fishing bigger water then I'd definitely use weighted line, if a small creek then maybe just add split shot. Hope this helps!
do you still hit up trout creek? will you this year ? i can find that spot lol i think iknow the water was rushing fast as hell was that after a rain storm
I banked and released a 25 inch brown that was over 7 pounds on a small stream with a midnight fire bugger and my 6 wt 4 days ago here in Montana . Get bent and keep a tight line . 🎣
THATS AWESOME!! Congrats man, that's an absolute giant. Montana is on the bucket list of places to go fish for me. One day I'll make some videos out there.
I fished the headwaters of the Clark fork river because all our Stillwater is still froze here . Ready to hit the Missouri River next and work on my social distancing skills .
Rob Driggs I’m from Georgia and have fished the Stillwater many times out of a Fly shop in Columbus Mt. I just can’t imagine the Stillwater frozen. Wow!
Depends on the situation. We work up stream so our sediment doesn't spook fish. So I'd say most of the time we are casting up stream or diagonally across. Occasionally we will swing a streamer through a hole if we know there are good fish in it but you have to be careful how you position yourself as to not spook any fish (at least in small creeks). Hope this helps! And thanks for watching
Great video I caught a rainbow today that looked like the exact size of that second brown and he measured at 15.5....where do you guys buy your tape measures?
Most of the time it is a visual strike honestly. But trust me when a big brown smashes a streamer you'll feel it. But you also have to have enough line control to feel it, or see your line bump, and be able to set the hook. It is a very difficult thing to manage if you've never fly fished before.
I absolutely love them so far. I've had no issues with them. Although I personally fish a lot less than I used to now that I work. Andrew likes his as well.

You’re one of my FAV fishing channels brotha! Awesome fishing results and great video quality of the trout up close! You’re my inspiration! 👊🏻
Thanks man!! That means a lot!! Glad you like the videos
Love your videos especially the Colorado series having lived there. Also your music is great!
Great fish, y’all. I gotta say, that’s an awesome looking streamer that Andrew tied, too!
Thank you! Andrew does a great job with the streamers he ties no doubt
Do you know any sites that sell streamers ? Like the ones you use ?
Jamie Williams not sure if they are exactly the same ones he uses but I know orvis is having a sale online 20% off on all flys

Some amazing brown trout, it doesn’t get much better than that!
DARN RIGHT ANDREW! My turn to catch a 24 incher now :)
The no. of inches is less important than the healthy body condition and gorgeous colours of those browns. Beautiful healthy trout.
It's crazy how creeks right in people's backyards have fish in there like that
Yeah I know. It is a very unique situation to say the least! Thanks for watching Greg.

I grew up in SW Pennsylvania and now live in Colorado. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever image fish like that back east! Cheers boys 👍

10 MILES? You are a savage. God bless. If I go 2-3 I feel exhausted lol. I gotta start running and hit the gym. Quarantine goals :)
By the end of the day we are DEAD. We joke around that when we make these trips for big browns we make it an extreme sport.

How to you feel the bite in current like that and when u have soo much slack line?
Most of the time it is a visual strike honestly. But trust me when a big brown smashes a streamer you'll feel it. But you also have to have enough line control to feel it, or see your line bump, and be able to set the hook. It is a very difficult thing to manage if you've never fly fished before.
Great videos!! What line do you guys use?
I used Kelly Gallop shovel head sinking line and my brother used some sort of scientific angler floating line.
Thanks bro! How’s the sinking line wading? Not to many snags?
thoughts on the drift waders?
