To be fair, silver and gold rath in fu aren't really different than regular rath, and theyre pathetically easy with ranged weapons,
@@manikaditha6308 thats nkt necessarily true. They share movesets but they use it very differently, aka behavior is doffirent despite essentially same move pool. Also weak points are different wich makes the players have to have a different approach.
@@samuraibeluga3749 moveset?theyre using it exactly the same, behavior only slightly different because theyre much more annoying to deal with like silos with constant flying (I'm not even sure if gold rath have anything different) , hitzone? I agree, but only for silos, gold rath weak point wont change most player approach.
@@manikaditha6308 what did i say? moveset is the same, behavior is different, didint say radically different, but different enough to the point where the statement "normal and metal raths are the same" is factually not true. gold and silver have the same weakpoints. there a level of difference on approaching a monster not for the head but for the wings instead.
Between plesioth's map defying hipcheck and this silver jerk, i learned real quick i cant just greatsword my way to winning.
I fucken luv plesioth hitbox especially when it jump out the water over u even that hitbox was nowhere close enough u get paralyzed n it just water gun blast it ass to no HP. Then get piss off thinking u will teach it a lesson with gunner just to end up with the same shit happing........fuck plesioth oh fuck u. Then u fight two of them, fuck!, hitbox all day.

The only monsters I dont hunt with GS are the Heavy Armored ones.

Always use proper tools for the job
As a Blade Master, I use all weapons, but I use specific weapons for each monster.
Aint no way im hunting a Rathalos with a Long sword 😂

@@spawn229 He is a example himself. I used sword & shield every time, when i encountered him. The mobility and blocking were necessary for the hitboxes for me. Without it, i would have died. 😥

Man this brings back memories. I remember I needed a Rathalos ruby for something and i farmed the crap out of this guy till I could beat it without too much trouble. It also didn't help that I didn't get the ruby till 20 hunts later. Focus the wings and get the tail during his fireball moves then the rest ain't too bad. That flying attack though is tricky and has killed me countless times. Great game and Good memories!
I would remember getting into late G-Rank and farming rubies for my brothers, we would play 3-player co-op. We had this inside joke about the game having a built-in desire sensor; if you wanted something badly, the game never dropped it, but gave it to everyone else instead. I came out with half a dozen rubies and my brother only got 1 after about ~30 hunts or so.

Here's a trick you can do to help deal with Rathalos roar+fireball combo: If you position yourself infront of its left leg when it's about to roar, that leg is moved forwards during the road. This will deal a little chip damage and knock you out of the stun early.

this is also true for FFXIV's normal/extreme rath phase 1. You can pretty much ignore all his non movement attacks just watch out for the backhop fireball's tell.
as much as i adore old gen monster hunter, the fact that “run forward with zero startup animation” is the main move of at least 80% of the roster, makes me so upset every time i play the old games

Need to pay attention how easily your weapon passes through. Metal raths are weak on wings to cutting damage and impact on head in 2nd gen. (Yes, even without breaking the head.)
Start focusing the wings with LS and it'll become much easier.

It's only easy for modern hunters, back then, we still lacked the skills to be able to dodge quickly like we do now, but I still like the original feeling that monster hunter gave me.

2:52 killed me so many times, unavoidably if you don’t have a weapon with blocks. High grade earplugs was so critical in this game. Also dude, do old plesioth. The hitbox on that shoulder check was brutal! Especially hard with the weak gear you have at that stage.

I grew up with this game. Never got far, so I never did this fight, but that is some serious level of jank Mr Rathalos' part. Kudos to you sticking through, I would've ragequit.

The fireball at 5:06 is the sum of my experience with this variant. It's like they know to fire in advance of your direction while adjusting for the extended hitbox.

As an experienced heavy bow gun user no matter which gen it is everthing will kill me in one hit from full health
besides plesi hip check, rath charge is just unavoidable damn near , you can telegraph it perfectly n will still get clipped

Tip: LS Draw attack has wind breaker, so you can attack with that without getting staggered

I have a lot of knowledge on mhf1 and mhfu but outside of that I have little knowledge on the other mh games, and well, the biggest error you are doing is trying to get a ruby on hr since it will be so frustrating for the mayority of players that is not even worth trying and the weapons you can get at hr with a ruby are not really worth that effort on mhfu since you can go to G rank and get better stuff for the same effort.
But I make those same errors when playing something like mh4u or mh world and start using the wrong set in the wrong mission to get a material, the problem is finding someone that tells you the better path to go, since it is a singleplayer specially at the beginning.
So probably the developers meant the decisions on village to be this way, so you can learn from the errors.
I just come fully prepared with flash bombs, Flash bugs, combining book, traps. And use great sword for this fight, because it's good for reach and I can charge every time he's coming down. Ancient potion and it's combing counter parts too
Yes the admiredfob way is the best way in monsterhunter freedom unite. Hammering everything is what made this game so satisfying despite the character movement speed being so cruel to players..

Those who play and clear old gen 3 and lower MH can be called as master, old gen MH is unforgiving for their movement, as seen on the video, wrong movement in wrong time and you are done for, they don't have those fancy move like aerial, leaping and grapling around back then, wrong attack you fucked up, wrong dodge more fucked up, wrong timing even more fucked up, but at least it sharpen your sense of monster movement and your wise timing and decision making, I felt it greatly after MH 4 and generation with more advanced movement, I can dance with the monster in other series after generetion
Hitboxes like these is why i always use evade extender

personally, other than the 30min fight I usually end up doing(I slash the head after tail), he ain't hard in the slightest, same tells for los-fireball & los-charge, same clock-wise spin. most of the time I just end up overhead-overhead-fade or overhead-fade.
probs if I tried slashing the wings for more dmg, I could kill it faster, but still killable.
In comparison to Sunbreak, getting a Ruby in unite was more or less a blessing from the RNG Gods.
In Sunbreak however it was more like a ruby bargaining sale

I used to long sword and great sword. Then i realised that in order to fully immerse your self and enjoy, you. Need to master all weapons. This guy is cake for me the light machine guns. You just need to make twn flash bombs on field and bring with you.
Honestly, i don't know how a Rath does that much damage in High Rank, and I'm scared to find out.
I still play portable 3rd because the the combat is just so simple. In Rise you have to do devil may cry combos and shit.

I would say he's a little bit annoying if your farming you have to go all through those breakings cutting tails...but if you go only for the kill it's a little bit easier coz' your focusing on one part which is his weakness his wings...
I miss how janky some of the animations were in older gens. Nothing can replace the feeling of older gen hunts for sure!
