It isn't simply the dancing though she was utterly brilliant throughout but it's the revolutionary concept: if you can't hear the music how do you dance to it? As a deaf person something new needs to happen to capitalise on their success. Rose has said a few times, they needed to rewrite the rules, to be innovative. Gosh Giovanni excelled here - finding a way to communicate sound and dance to people, like me, who don't understand it. Please don't stop. This could be the birth of a new era of sound and dance for deaf people. You rock Rose.

Was pure brilliance! The way he taught her and the way she learned was phenomenal. You don’t get two people with a strong bond and chemistry like that often. Was a pleasure to watch grow 👏🏼👏🏼
And as far as I know about Nyle & Peta who was on DWTS Season 22.. they also won and Nyle is deaf too, like Rose. Peta used cues and taps to count and scratches on Nyle's back to made him feel it, when he should move, when it starts, when he should turn around, etc and it worked. I think... so does Rose & Gio. Gio surely had his own method how to make Rose shone on the dancefloor. This was the other proof that deaf people also can dance without hear the music

Not only 'the chemistry'. John was a great competitor who became a really good dancer, but Rose was a fantastic dancer. I would have been pleased for whoever won - and that includes the amazing AJ - because to get to the Final of Strictly means you have earned the accolade; but I'm thrilled deep inside that it was Rose. Not only an inspiration and guiding light to the deaf community but also a young woman who never used her disability to her advantage and who truly pushed herself to achieve this dream. The Strictly Tour of 2022 will be the richer with Rose dancing.
should've stopped the show at Halloween week and handed the trophy to rose. it was obvious.
AJ would have also won on a different year. I would have been happy with either a Rose or AJ win! Both are so inspirational to me. Wishing them both all the best going forwards! Hope AJ recovers soon xx

I loved John and Johanes they were brilliant, Rose and Giovanni are worthy winners and I voted for them. I was disappointed Rhys was eliminated because wow can that man dance. The right couple won.
Personally this was the one year where both couples should've won.
The most deserving winners of any series of strictly. Her ballroom is also the best by any celebrity and I hope anyone who has watched who wanted to dance but felt like they couldn’t now believe they can. 10’s all round! 👏🏻👏🏻

I’m in total awe of this young lady. She’s come such a long way on a personal level, broken down so many barriers and certainly brought out a side of Gio we’ve never seen before. Then of course there’s her ability to dance. She’s just amazing - she fills my heart with joy every time I watch her.

After three finales Gio finally won his mirrorball and Rose made strictly history! I'm so happy my favourite teams were in the finale! Congrats to John & Johannes as well!

I would say this is the best Strictly ever! Arguably the top 4 all deserved to win. I'm so happy for Rose and for Giovanni to have finally won.
I think it's the closest strictly in terms of everyone been equal but it's not the highest standard series.

This pairing was perfect! Italians are naturally affectionate and close, which is exactly what Rose needed to be able to trust him fully and push beyond her limits. Being a natutal gesticulator, any time Giovanni did sign language, it looked like second nature to him. Magnificent to watch! 🥰🥰🥰👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

I was never going to watch Strictly again until I saw Rose and Giovani’s quarterfinal dance and that was it. Their chemistry is fantastic. Like Giovani has softened tremendously, treating Rose like a beloved sister. Teary eyed most of their dance tonight..captivating. Congratulations Rose and Giovani!

Overall throughout this serious Rose was just amazing 🤩 this young lady brought out the best in Giovanni and her dancing was sublime. No one can criticise Rose lifting the glitterball she deserved it. Everyone had an advantage over Rose they all could hear the music and she overcame this disability and her dancing touched so many. A very deserving winner.
Too be honest she’s done more then most ever have on this show. The earliest highest score in week 6. Achieved the most iconic dance in strictly history in week 8. Had the most tens! 30 in total. Great dancing every week, fearless, phenomenal chemistry, always happy! There is not many celebs can tick them boxes

Watching this back I still think Rose is the most deserving winner out of all of the winners on previous seasons. She truly deserve that win more than anybody. Her ballroom was incredible. Had the most 10's in one season is such a well worthy achievement. She also had me in tears a few weeks too. Best Strictly series in the 21st Century for me.

2021 - the best strictly so far with Rose and Giovanni they danced brilliantly together and Rose being deaf made it so special. Worthy winners well done
I think Rose and Gio were the only couple who never ended up in the Dance off. So proud of Rose and how far she has come and Gio too he finally got a win whooop. Not watched it yet waiting for my mum to come back from oxford so I can watch it with her as its a saturday night tradition for us.

Rose Ayling-Ellis is our absolute sweetheart 💕 💖 💓 ❤ 💗 ♥. She won the 19th series of Strictly Come Dancing last year in the run-up to Christmas. Giovanni Pernice took 7 years to get the Glitterball Trophy. Now he did.

Exactly. And even taking being deaf out of the equation, to perform at the level she did with no training is insane. Her final dances with Giovanni were nothing short of magical.

Rose, ever since week one you have been amazing but the first time I started recognising you amongst everyone was week 3 when you did your titanic foxtrot, not even joking I was like oh my goodness gracious that was beautiful. Your couples choice and your argentine tango are some of my personal faves of your dances but that showcase is just...wow I can't lie I did cry just like Anton you are such a joy to watch. And everytime you speak tk Claudia you are absalputley brilliant! Regardless of your claim to a disability, Rose has earned her champion title fairly and she more than deserved it.
She appeared on the show to raise awareness for those who are deaf, but impacted so many more than those from the deaf community, whether you have different disabilities or even if you can hear and have simply started learning sign language.
For the final, I truly believe she was enjoying the last of her time dancing with her soulmate/twin flame, and what she did in the final was solely for her professional partner, because she just wanted the title for him and be the first to give that to him. She got her wish. It will make their time apart a little easier to bear.

John and Johannes literally RE-WROTE the format of traditional ballroom dance. Nobody has ever switched from leading to following. This was a challenge only they had- everyone else just followed what they already knew. They all did very well... but J&J literally changed the rules so beautifully and humbly. 😍
And Rose goes into Strictly Come Dancing history as the dancer who beautifully danced all the way to the strictly glitter ball final and won, ALL IN HER WORLD OF SILENCE, along with her brilliant professional dancing partner and tutor Giovanni. I agree that they have utterly touched our hearts. The respect, kindness, caring , empathy, admiration they showed to each other was wonderful to watch. And Rose was always full of joy, constantly beaming. The most beautiful soul, who has no need to wear skimpy clothing and let everything hang out for all to see, to attract attention. Her own inner and outer beauty does that for her.

1. Their support for each other is at a super level.

So happy for them, what a beautiful partnership! It seemed like ever since Friday's ITT the atmosphere was a little bit bittersweet for them as they realized the journey is actually coming to an end. ( I mean, even Gio looked like he was just trying to hold it together most of the time.) So beautiful to see the love between them, and how it translated into the dances.

I loved Rose, AJ, and John but my winners for weeks were Rose and Gio. I have never been so torn and so stuck as to who I want to win, right up until the last minute and I'm pretty sure had AJ been in it, it would've have been equally level pegging and even harder to decide. In the end it was Rose's showdance that just pushed it over the edge for me. Really though, had all three of them competed in different series each, I'd have voted for them all to win. Oh my days I can't stop getting tears in my eyes. Rose did such an amazing job consistently and it shows that Giovanni must be a good teacher to have got her to the standards she was showing. Also, he didn't fault that she was deaf and it shows that anything is possible, whether you're deaf or hearing or whatever.
