That’s what I thought of when I saw the animation. Which currently I’m reading the manga and it it does look all visual novel style it’s not going to do the manga justice. If it’s just for the first few episodes I get it but if actual matches and especially if the U-20 match is animated this way a lot of people are better off just reading and looking at panels while using the characters voices in their head.
As a blue lock fan, I believe blue lock and its fans deserve so much better. Studio 8bit is quite possibly one of the worst things that could've happened to such a wonderful manga. Still can't believe that this happened to blue lock.

I don't even like the characters designs that much. Some are on point sure and they look way better in this trailer. But it doesn't really compare to the manga. Not saying it has to be 1 to 1. But there isn't any flare to them, they're just cardboard cutouts that fit into whatever direction they're going with. Even the kaiju No. 8 designs looked better
