I just wanted to say thanks for this guide! I used it to repair my KS8000, and it's back to normal now. I had never really soldered before, but I figured investing in some soldering gear to get this job done was worth the investment to avoid junking a TV I paid ~$1200 for. I'm sure I did a horrible job, but the end result is that the TV is working again, so I can't complain.
For anyone looking for more guidance, I used 22ohm 1206 resistors, but 0805 size ones may have fit a bit better. But 1206es did work in the end.
Also, I was skeptical about burning off the 4 chips on each side, but it's essential. If you don't, the new resistors will immediately go up in smoke when you turn the TV back on. This also resulted in my burning one of the pads off, so... don't even try it. Just do exactly as the video says and save yourself some time and effort.
Thank you
What are the 4 chips you take out?

Thanks a lot for a clear video! Fixed 2 TV's with replacing the SMD resistors with 100ohm ones. Working fine now. However without removing the 8 other components they would burn through again. Any idea what the removed 8 components were used for?
do you have a link for the resistors and what size are they ?
Glenville Pompier just standard smd resistors. Can just desolder then from a different device. Or order them from any smd component shop.
hi! thanks Pal Claudiu for posting this guide! i tried it on a ue55ks7000 and it significantly improved the issue, but in my case it looks like it didn't completely fix it (yet?).
i still have intermittent image corruption on the bottom 1-2cm of the screen (1 sec ok, 2 sec corruption wandering up 2cm from the bottom, 1 sec ok again, 2 sec corruption...). the corrupton shares a similarity with the previous problem: it is dependent on what is shown on screen. almost like a copy of what's shown on the rest of the screen, compressed down to 1-2 cm at the bottom. the rest of the image and backlight looks ok (except for some backlight bleed on the bottom of the screen, but that may have always been there. the tv was gifted to me when it broke and the previous owner didn't want to bother trying this, even though i showed him the video).
not being an electronics engineer (just ee-curious), now i am wondering if this is a remaining manifestation of the underlying problem (surely, removing these diodes can only cover up a bigger problem with the panel?) or if i caused this issue during repair (which wasn't 100% perfect). 2 things come to mind regarding the latter:
trying to be prudent, i first only replaced the resistors (with the highest amperage ones i could get). with them, the display worked for a few seconds and the new resistors got hot/looked a bit cooked but still measured 56 ohms afterwards. maybe they were not the weakest link anymore?
then i replaced the resistors again and this time i removed the diodes too. unfortunately, not having an smd heat gun at hand, i ripped of a few of the diode pads. probing the board, it looks like all the pads on either side would normally be connected to each other and this is now not the case for about 4 or 5 pairs of pads (out of a total of 40).
any ideas on what could be the cause this second issue? should i even bother to try and reconnect the traces with the missing diode pads (which will be very challenging) or is this something else anyway?
thanks in advance!
did you get this fix ?
I only removed D005 and replaced the R043 with 150ohm 1/4w resistors on my UN55KS8000FXZA.
Ok.
Perfecto.

Hi, very good guide. I did the fix with 22 ohm SMD resistors, i think they're the size of the small ones that you remove. Picture is fine for a minute, then gets garbled in the bottom. After some minutes it fails again like before the repair. Powering off for a while fixes it, until it's been on for a minute. Too low resistor values, too small resistors or something else ... Any hints? Thanks for the video

Dear Mr. Claudiu,
We have done exactly the same process as you show on your video: we changed the SMD resistors for new 22 ohms ones and taken away the rest of the pieces you remove from your device.
Now the problem persists but in a different way: When you run the TV, it enters on a cyclic process of switching on & off continuously, without showing the blue lines that it was showing before (and that also are shown on your TV in the video).
Don't know if you know what's happening now ? Will be great if you could help us.
Maybe we can message us in a better way via mail ?
Thanks for your support,
Pau F.
Not sure if you're still working on this, but it sounds like the resistors may have a short or aren't connected properly. I also noticed at one point that some solder had gotten on some of the pins on the bottom of the board and shorted a couple of them. Those 2 issues resulted in the same 'on and off' cycle you describe.
I'd go back and make sure everything you touched is fully cleaned of excess solder and that the resistors are securely attached.
I used your guide to repair my Samsung UE55KS8000 and replaced the resistors. During the work I destroyed the capacitor c307. Could you please tell me the type, value and size of the capacitor I need?

Claudiu, thank you so much for your video! With your help I was able to fix my 55" KS8080 by replacing those 4 smd resistors and removing the 8 ICs!
Now I got a 65" KS8080 which initially had the same problem (vertical lines) but after some time the display did not show anything anymore. Now when I turn on the TV the backlight goes on and off every ~10 seconds.
* I checked the 4 resistors, they are all good.
* I removed the - in this case only 6 - ICs as shown in your video UE65KU6680 Flicker (ruclips.net/video/evQ7D-OP3tw/видео.html ).
* I found out that the far left LVDS ribbon cable was burnt on Pins 4 and 14. I repaired this cable.
* The exact same Pin 4 leads to the respective 51R0 restistors as shown in your resitor circuit video ruclips.net/video/Ayxt4xTuXA8/видео.html (I cecked left and right side). In your video the circuit should lead to those ICs but on my board it is only leading to the outmost capacitors (C112 on the right side and C1612 on the left side). My board ist different to the 55" KS8000 - it looks exactly like the UE65KU6680. Maybe the circuits of these boards are slightly different?
* I also checked the five "Y" SMDs on the mainboard. They are ok.
* One more thing: I checked all capacitors on those four LCD-boards. All capacitors themselves are ok, however when I connect the white ribbon cables to the mainboad I have a short in four capacitors (one on each LCD-board). C001 & R008 left and C001 & R008 right. (I don't know why they are marked "R"008 as they obviously are not resistors but capacitors...)
Nothing helped... the TV still turns on and off every 10 seconds.
Do you by chance have any more idea what I could do or try to get this TV running?
Send me a video with the problem and the screen board

SMD 56R0 is the original one, i replaced with the 22R0 (220) and is working fine
@@claudyu2002 Sorry, I didn't mean the resistors but the four ten-footed components on the right-hand side. I have already swapped the two resistors with 51 ohms, but they burned out again straight away. Where can I get the ten-legged components? Thanks in advance for your help.

That links shows a 0603(1608) size which is too small. I think it should be a 1206(3216) as the resistors shown measure 0.120”x0.06”. I’m in process of replacing mine now and took it apart again to measure with a caliper. I’m not versed in electronics but that’s an actual measurement taken on a 8500 version tv with all the same buffer boards as shown.
Thanks for this information overall this is great, I’ve been searching up and down!!
