Lightsabers hold the plasma in place with a magnetic field, blaster bolts are also superheated plasma, so the blade attracting the bolt to then deflect it actually kind of makes sense. The skill of the lightsaber is patience, being patient enough to wait for the bolt to come to you so you can deflect it, instead of trying to catch it at the last moment which can instead result in you missing it. This is head-canon I should clarify, zero evidence for it, but it makes sense with the Jedi's whole deal I think.

11:02 the thing is, the OT was the very first star wars content to come out,so a detailed plan wasn't really needed,sure,it resulted in the OT having a few flaws here and there but the flaws themselves were reather minimal and didn't really effect the quality of the films in a negative way, the sequels were a continuation of 6 previous films, therefore a better plan is needed,as inconsistencies and plot holes would be bigger and more noticeable

I was going to say that Lucas actually had, at the very least, a rough idea of how the story was going to play out following the success of the first movie. He wanted to tell a story about family and generations, and he ironed out the details as he went along. It resulted in some retroactively weird moments, but overall, the story was consistent and self-contained.
Disney's "plan" was comparable to the underpants gnomes from South Park:
1) Make Star Wars movies
2) ???
3) Profit
