I have a Cd'A Ecridor Retro fountain pen and it has an O-ring as well. I think it is just to keep the barrel from coming unscrewed in general since mine is a snap cap.

Dear Stephen, I own a CdA Leman, identical pen - different material. I have used it as an eyedropper and I would like to let you know that is extremely reliable as one. Since I usually fill it with 6 ml of ink you can quess that I actually forget to refill it. After minor tuning I must say that is one of the most smooth writers I have used.

      That's very good to know!

Funny thing, today I was checking a fountain pen that has an o-ring too in the section. I thought it's purpose was to prevent disaster in case the cartridge fell off inside the barrel.
    (Inoxcrom Corinthian/1942 was the pen).

Blue Sky is fairly dry, which may be the cause of the railroad. My Leman (F nib) performs very well 'under pressure'.
I agree the section is rather skinny. It's a common thing among nearly all CDA pens.
I think the new Carvier is gorgeous. The clear lacquer is beautifully done.

Stephen, Your "disclaimer" was really funny. I really don't understand people that get their panties in a bunch over was it purchased or not. I've really enjoyed all the videos of yours that I have watched and they have been a great help to me. Thanks for all the work you have put into these.
The Caran d'Ache, Although a very pretty pen would be a serious ache in my bank account and no doubt serious pain from my wife.

Dear Stephen, thank you and must say I enjoy each of your reviews including this one. Have 2 questions please:
    1. For a Medium nib, how does the Leman compare with an ST Dupont Line D?
    2. Will the Broad nib be as wet or more than a Broad on a Pilot Custom 823 you would say?

It would be nice to hear you comment more about the materials, fit and finish and how you feel it compares to other manufacturer's pens at this price point. I this price point I would expect it to be outstanding in fit, finish, writing performance and overall operation. Thanks

Finally! I've been waiting for the Leman review forever. The Pelikans would be too huge for my hands, but this... this will be perfect. I wonder what the feed is like on the fine. So now I'm just waiting for the Edson review.

I really love my Caran D'Ache emergency ballpoints - so sorry - for times when fountain pens aren't viable.
Also, looking at buying a red ink, I don't like 'dark' reds, I like reds like the colour from the RUclips logo - you seemed to think highly of Chinatown Red, is that a safe bet do you think?

Cool review! Weird though, I own two Léman pens and they write really wet. I really enjoy them!

I love this writing brand. It is very different his manifacture by Parker, Waterman, Walter A. Sheaffer and A. T. Cross. I am sure!

sbrebrown A very nice pen, though it kind of makes me think of my Parker IM Premium in the Gunmetal Chiselled finish. I think that it probably makes one happy when using it. As we know it from you it was a very nice review full of facts.
Just to make clear I didnt miss anything, didnt you want to give away your Pelikan Cafe Creme ? You mentioned that how to win it was going to appear on your website, but I didnt see anything that refers to this matter since.
    Cheers,
    Sherlock

Hey, Steven this brand puts out an AWESOME ball point pen. How about a review on the 983? Also the pencil is great to because it is a 0.7 lead with an old style "claw" system. As for CdA fountain pens, I am not impress, a common feed and not an outstanding nib. So the buyers are going for the shell of the pen, which they do a good job on the style.

Dear @criscavi19 one quick question, is the Leman as smooth or more smooth than ST Dupont Line D? And will the Broad nib on this be too braod than a Broad nib on say a Pilot Custom 823?

Stephen, I have to ask: do people really give you flak for reviewing pens companies have shipped you? If so, what's the angle there? You provide these videos for free and all we do is sit here and enjoy them; to my mind you can do what you want, and if that meant Stephen Brown Infomercials that would still be your right to do so.
Anyway, thanks for the review. Caran d'Ache is not a brand I'm very familiar with, either.

Some people seem to fear that if I do not pay for a pen, I cannot objectively review it. I do not really understand that line of reasoning, because it suggests that I cannot separate my opinion about a potential from the way I obtain it.

The voice of a non objective sbrebrown is funny. May be that should be his voice even in an objective review.
