@@TheGamingTruckrIf you dont see how: - 'what are you wearing?' - 'nothing that impressive, but I'm feeling _very_ flexible' Are relevant to this particular persuasion check......
@@TheGamingTruckr Yeah, correct. The 'well crafted funny skit' is not accurate to the 'mechanically useful, but in no way funny' rules it is based on. This however does not invalidate the entire joke, merely excludes you as its target audience. In the actual game: "persuasion vs ac" makes no sense. No one is arguing otherwise. (If persuasion were to exist in 4e, a weird power that does have this exception would be in there. There is a pretty famous "weapons vs will" scenario in there.) But the actual way to calculate ac in the game: - Rating of the outfit (part of the skit) +depending of the subset (glossed over): -- class features (unarmored defense, skipped over entirely) -- and dex score (significant part of skit). Matches a real life persuasion of *exactly* this scenario, perfectly. Including the order in which the parts were brought up. But if you prefer to get angry instead of happy, because the correct application of the ac-calculation, is mapped perfectly to "wife tries to convince husband to ditch friends to instead stay in with her" For literally no other reason than "persuasion vs ac doesn't exist in the book"..... Your loss.
@@TheGamingTruckr "why the assumption of anger?" Because 1: caps = shouting. 2: refuses to acknowledge, there even is an explanation, when presented with the explanation. As for "there is nothing in the entire skit that makes any sense". Lets try this again: Yes "persuasion vs ac" is usually a weird mapping, which I also acknowledged, on first watch. And likely would have made a joke-comment about. Calling the entire skit nonsensical and tuning out entirely for any purpose other than scrolling for comments that are "too positive" just to tell them how wrong they are..... Not so much. Now to retry: what actually happened in the skit. He: "I'm going out with the boys as we had no plans" (the core premise) She: "I was hoping, we could hang and do nothing together" (make it persuasion) He: "depends on what you're wearing" (asking AC makes sense for this question, and is the perfect setup for her response. Sure it's not the perfect match with the previous question. But "2 out of 3 is not a dealbreaker for everyone") She: "nothing too impressive, but I'm feeling _very_ flexibel" (the *perfect* light-armor response) Perfect for*this particular* argument, bad translation of the general skill. But what does the book state about "specific vs general" again....?

Armor - or lack thereof...😂
first rule of D&D is if it works then who cares
@@rulesasunintended8964 but it doesn't work, because they're two entirely different systems. A Persuasion check would be performed against a "Difficulty Class" or DC.
Shouldn't persuasion be contested by Insight modifier, or Intimidation modifier, or save DC using Charisma, or literally anything but AC?
Gorgeous, and cosplay, no need to leave the house
Gotta love that bag of D & D dice he “just happened” to have with him too. Y’all are hilarious!
Trying to persuade her AC? That's a new one.
MASTERCLASS! Delivery. Editing. Acting. Pacing. !!
Thank you!
@@TheGamingTruckrIf you dont see how:
- 'what are you wearing?'
- 'nothing that impressive, but I'm feeling _very_ flexible'
Are relevant to this particular persuasion check......
There is a pretty famous "weapons vs will" scenario in there.)
But the actual way to calculate ac in the game:
- Rating of the outfit (part of the skit) +depending of the subset (glossed over): -- class features (unarmored defense, skipped over entirely)
-- and dex score (significant part of skit).
Matches a real life persuasion of *exactly* this scenario, perfectly.
Including the order in which the parts were brought up.
But if you prefer to get angry instead of happy,
because the correct application of the ac-calculation, is mapped perfectly to "wife tries to convince husband to ditch friends to instead stay in with her"
For literally no other reason than "persuasion vs ac doesn't exist in the book".....
Your loss.
@@TheGamingTruckr "why the assumption of anger?" Because
1: caps = shouting.
2: refuses to acknowledge, there even is an explanation, when presented with the explanation.
As for "there is nothing in the entire skit that makes any sense".
Lets try this again:
Yes "persuasion vs ac" is usually a weird mapping, which I also acknowledged, on first watch. And likely would have made a joke-comment about. Calling the entire skit nonsensical and tuning out entirely for any purpose other than scrolling for comments that are "too positive" just to tell them how wrong they are..... Not so much.
Now to retry: what actually happened in the skit.
He: "I'm going out with the boys as we had no plans" (the core premise)
She: "I was hoping, we could hang and do nothing together" (make it persuasion)
He: "depends on what you're wearing" (asking AC makes sense for this question, and is the perfect setup for her response. Sure it's not the perfect match with the previous question. But "2 out of 3 is not a dealbreaker for everyone")
She: "nothing too impressive, but I'm feeling _very_ flexibel" (the *perfect* light-armor response)
Perfect for*this particular* argument, bad translation of the general skill.
But what does the book state about "specific vs general" again....?
@@user-jn4sw3iw4h I'm just gonna point out that it's obviously targeted at DND players, then they excluded most DND players by trying to make a charisma check against AC.
Dude, if you don't have plans when you're married, you have plans with your wife. In fact, your wife has been planning your night all day. You gotta tell your wife at least a day in advance if you got a 5 hour game.
The step stool was an AWESOME touch....lol!
I love how confident she is about her dexterity. I would like to see an example of her dexterity. Cutie.
And he still won. FOR THE BOIS!!!!
Yeeeeah, I'm staying. The homie would understand
Getting a kick out of the folks who don't understand the AC question... She's not the GM, he's treating her like an NPC he's about to "tackle" 😆
Except a tackle would be a grapple check, which would be a contested athletics check (she'd probably use acrobatics since she has a 20 dex).
I'm guessing you don't actually play either.
Wow. Persauasion means something totally different in that house.
I love the way Leah says...."five" Like you picked a fight with the wrong Elf. LOL!
