- Got to run a brand new piece of machinery this week and it was awesome it does such a good job cleaning everything out and increases efficiency by 10x of the asphalt crew.
You can never go wrong with Catapillar! Im going on my third piece of equipment 💪 TeamCatapillar Empire🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏💪
Rock on
Like your video, hope you can do more videos on different brand grinders.
Thanks man ! But the chances of me doing a video on another brand are pretty slim but if I get the chance I'll forbsure jump on it.
James your videos are awesome! Thanks for all of the content! Look forward to future videos.
Thanks I super appreciate that hope to drop 2 videos this week.
try to loosen the gas cap, the breather vent may be clogged.. if it works after u loosen it, i would say replace the fuel cap.. or the electric fuel pump is going bad
Glad you like to test drive new cat stuff have a wonderful day
You as well Sir
What the Ranger needs is some DEF fluid keep up the awesome work.
Best answer yet
That's a baby mill, it's cute though. We can do close to 2 miles a day of interstate with the big ones. I don't know if the fuel pump has a relay but I'd imagine that it would and that's where I'd start. I've changed fuel pumps before thinking that they were bad and it was just something as simple as a relay.
Ya they just got it because they do their own restoration one of the 8 footers would be way overkill. But I've always dreamed of running one of the big grinders
I swapped the relat with the one next to it to try that but still chasing problems it's driving me crazy 🤪
Possibly moister in your fuses on the Polaris. I live in Minnesota and the stock fuses will freeze when it gets cold from moister inside. It’ll leave you stranded
The polaris has an issue with these fuel pumps I guess 🤔. I just keep an extra one on hand now.
Nice equipment, you work fluidly around these types of equipment keep it up, enjoying the content
Thanks I appreciate it.
Btw the drone of the top of the spruce/pine or whatever type tree those are👍
It was such a beautiful area
Just a suggestion but is their a chance its vapor locking the system due to a bad/blocked tank vent/breather? Big tell tale sign would be it being difficult to fill the tank with fuel, Running rough once its used for a bit and can even cause the engine to shut off and not restart. If you are sure it hasn't got power at the plug use a multimeter and trace the power supply wire from pump connector to relay then working from the relay towards the pump connector say every foot or 2 check that you are getting power. Eventually you will no longer get a power reading meaning the problem is between the last point you got a power reading and the point you dont. Also double check the power pin in the fuel pump connector hasn't backed out of the plug even a small amount can cause intermittent power supply. Same with the ground wire and the 12v signal wire. Just take your time checking and im sure you will work it out. If it all seems to check out obviously pump replacement might be the go. Good luck anyway mate
So sick!! 🇺🇸
Thanks man
Your editing skills are getting really good!
👀👍🔥
Might be an intermittent fuel pump relay. Just a guess because had a Ford snow plow truck that did something similar. I had someone look at it to pinpoint the problem because I couldn't figure it out. Hope that helps.
Check your connection on your plugs. Doing a harness at work right now that the contacts have just spread to far. As it is hotter they expand and get further apart and when it’s cold there close and tight. This is a Oshcosh mixer but could be a problem your dealing with. Or many other problems.
I run the big wirtgen machines and I can’t tell you how much I don’t like the 4ft grinders lol have a great night
Lol maybe one day I can run the big boys what size machine you run?
@@Mr_Get_Muddy I run a 210 the drum size is 7.3ft I saw one of your trucks in sac I said hell ya
Have you checked the wiring going to the pump to see if there might be a short. might occur when it gets hotter out where you are.
Nice grinder, makes it easier than using bobcat attachments. Also what company do you help out with, they keep their equipment clean which not many asphalt companies do. Keep up good videos.
check the connections on the pump in the tank if not might be the pump going out.
Sounds like the pump is over heating, I would chase some wires and make sure it's not grounding out and over running the pump.
Have you replaced the pump?
Checked fuel lines for clogs?
Is there a fuel filter?
Just going through all the stupid things.
Had a problem with the dif-lock on my ATV years ago, took it to 2 shops 800 in parts ended up being a chaffed wire under the fuel tank. 🤦
Salute brother 🤙🏻
Have you tried unscrewing the gas cap to relieve pressure in the gas tank. In the heat the gas vapors may be pressurizing the tank and overwhelming the pump? Just a best guess.
Gave that a try yesterday..... no dice. It's so random I've had my mechanic friends scratching their brain trying to figure this one out. But thanks for trying.
Mira Eric, you're famous.
Superrrrr Famoso
Ryan was having this issue with his 6.0 a while back. I'm no mechanic but maybe similar issue?
Dang that looks like you were pretty close to my neck of the woods question what did they do with the ground up asphalt? Do they ever just give it away or do you try to find a place to dump it 🤷🏽♂️
We can just give it away but it all depends on time and logistics
@@Mr_Get_Muddy was the area up towards grass valley???
Not super familiar but we were close by murphy
@@Mr_Get_Muddy that's towards angles camp area 🤷🏽♂️grass valley is up hwy 49 just above auburn
Their known to have fuel pump issues I’ve been they 3 in my 2016 ranger since I’ve owned it pump over heats
Is there any big giant machine that you don't know how to work ?
Great video !
Lol never ran a scraper
James I’m confused. You live in San Diego however work in sacramento?
I work everywhere lol. It just depends but mostly in SD
Company I work for in Michigan we’re a wirtgen mill dealer. Very impressive machines they have 1000hp cat motors in them
Dang 1000hp that's a big girl !! How big is the drum on that one ?
@@Mr_Get_Muddythe drum is about as wide as that mill you’re running lol
So you're saying she's thick lol
@@Mr_Get_Muddy South main auto on youtube is an amazing auto mechanic that probably has a video to point you in the right direction or can help you diagnose it yourself he explains everything very well with his diagnostic process and I imagine many evap principals are similar between ur Polaris and vehicles... @SouthMainAutoRepairLLC ruclips.net/video/ZXbh7NB8yOE/видео.html... here's a link about fuel issues on a vehicle great mechanic... sorry for my lengthy post hope it helps now about ur paving milling job... thanks so much for this video I come from a blacktopping family cheers yall about that cat equipment then yall laying that black gold with a Weller instead of a cat lol just picking... thanks for the insights on the milling machine it's always subcontracted out up here and they use the big ones just curious tho... why yall don't sweep into the next path to be milled instead of using the pickup broom to clean up the fines was it because yall were training on the new mill or because it's so small??? Also another question are yalls jobs typically smaller is that why there wasn't a big cat or Volvo roller??? Thanks again I really enjoyed this video you should go back paving and make tons more eh...
I think it sounds like you need an upgrade from the Polaris to a CAT CUV105 D.
That’s dope you speak Spanish bro
Fake it till you make it lol. I would say my Spanish is like 60 to 70 percent
That looks like pollock pines
Murphy area
Every grinder I worked on the guys let the teeth fall out and chewed up the holders
Crazy how keeping an eye on something so simple is so hard for some of these guys and how fast it can destroy the sockets
I seen caterpillar make those
I know it sounds stupid but try fuses I have the same Polaris and it would just shut off the pump, until we eventually changed the (perfectly fine looking) fuse
Ok I'll try that this afternoon it is driving me crazy trying to figure it out.
Man you can’t be posting when I’m at work I can’t be the first to like and comment when you do this 😡
Sorry....... kind of
Typical road crew just sittin on the job! I'm just kidding but not when it comes to State road workers!!
Lol well you know......
