Rob, Lee, Really informative. Really like hearing your background of how you have got to your present day, and the hard work you have pout in of the years paying off Remember your welding days Rob, and the gates you did for a friend of the family
Very interesting, there's definitely a payoff between social media channels taking up lots of time and energy which for most takes a toll on there fishing performance with a few exceptions Jon Arthur and Jamie Harrison being the best in my opinion with content and results who basically are one man teams with regards to their channels, I started my channel as my daughter who lives down south wanted to see how my start in matchfishing went, after 2 yes I've not posted new videos as this year I wanted to focus on getting my fishing better through coaching events my mate Gary Rodgers runs and I have improved 100 percent, when club matches I'm doing very well and opens too,but I fish Gaz festivals against the best of you guys ,so I am going to relaunch my channel for those guys like me who want to start matchfishing so they can benefit from my progress and have the confidence to fish against anyone in any competition and enjoy it ,there isn't any other sports you could be playing with the superstars and having a pint with afterwards
I feel the sport and top anglers are under sponsored/ funded from the multi million, if not billion, industry. Angling is booming and the brands work with fantastic margins and profit level yet they give very little back. The top competition prizes are low and remained stagnant for years. They dish out peanuts to sponsored anglers and exploit them because they know the angler does it for the love of their sport. I suspect most top anglers are self employed consultants with tax, pension and overheads to cover….free luggage and a once in a lifetime £50k for fish’o just doesn’t cut it.
You can get sponsored just for having a successful channel. Ok you do need to be able to fish to some extent BUT its not results orientated for streamers/vlogging.
Nice informative watch guys.. And who doesn't love Jim 🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant guys, thanks for touching on the commercial pressures that come with sponsorship I feel is often not spoke about

Another great informative video and Lee you definitely give time to people you meet on the Bank. Good luck for the next 3 days and Rob as well.
A very interesting video. Some great insights into the corporate angling world.
These chats are very thought provoking and personally there isn’t a tackle company in existence that would sponsor me. Great stuff chaps 👍👍
Great insight lads and a great topic to talk about
My Mrs said less legs Lee!!! 😂😂😂

Getting a bit of bait off bait companies for cheaper doesn’t make you a sponsored angler lol 😂
