yup! that happened to me after i made my first blanket with 660 yards. now i unraveled it because i can’t stand that it’s wonky and i’m starting over 😭😭
Usually a rib stitch is almost the same as a regular one, except you crochet into only the front or back loop of each stitch rather than the entire V. I often use it for scarves, and mostly crochet in the back loops all the way through a scarf. It gives a bit of texture.

this is where I messed up, the tutorial I watched said to chain two and start in the third chain. so my whole work is wonky😭

No, your first stitch should be in the last stitch from the previous row 😊
