Great video! What's most fascinating to me about the experiment is the James Harden side of things. He has such a poor reputation as a playoff performer that would go away entirely with just 1 Championship, and in his 2 best opportunities (2018, 2021), he got ridiculously unlucky with injuries.
There was no way this team was losing without injuries in 2021. They were number one in offense that year and when all the three played they statistically and factually had an historic offense and their defense was competent enough. They had 2 top 7 players and a top 15 player that averaged 27 on 50/40/90 and made 3rd team all nba. This was also a underrated harden year, he was in mvp talks before missing games and was having a solid playoff run. They would’ve smoked the bucks, Atlanta and they definitely would’ve smoked phoenix.
But I wholeheartedly disagree that kyrie can’t lead as a first option and that he needs lebron to be successful though. His first year in Boston they won 16 games in row early in the season and he was 2nd in the mvp ladder in November. They won up to 50+ games with him in the lineup and had a better record with him than without him in that season, he just unfortunately had to get surgery at the end of the season. Basketball wise, he thrived without lebron in the 2018 season averaging 24/4/5 on 49/41/88 splits getting most of the defense attention and they ended up as a second seed. The next year was when there was turmoil, but they still won 49 games as a 4th seed. He averaged 24/5/7 on 49/40/87 splits and made second team all nba as the first option. He was ok in the first round, he just unfortunately underperformed against an elite defense in Milwaukee. His 2 seasons in Boston the advance stats show that boston was better with him on the floor than off of it and I’m looking at it right now, there best lineups are with kyrie on the floor. My point being I think his boston tenure is lowkey underrated and is overblown especially since Boston players came out saying they had their own agenda the second year.
I had an argument in a comment section the day of the harden trade. People said they would get 3 to 5 rings, i said they would maybe only get 1. No leaders, negative personalities. Chemistry issues were always going to derail that team. GMs always look at talent, but almost never look at chemistry, and leadership.
I watched, it's a good video. I get it. I also fully disagree. I'm glad they went down in flames. The league is already set up to force teams to move players regularly through FA and trading. We don't need to add more and more players demanding trades. If the Nets had won a chip, it would have pushed us further into an era of volatility where players were constantly demanding trades and switching teams. Some amount of stability is good for fans and the league. Also, all three players are kind of trash when it comes to non-basketball hard skills. Kyrie sounds like a wonderful person to the people around him, but he's sooo full of himself. The flat earth and anti-vax stuff really pisses me off. I think he's maturing some finally, but from the time he forced himself out of Cleveland to last year he was a dumpster fire IMO. He was a bad teammate and spreading garbage information into the real world. Hard pass on wishing someone like that success. Durant has had a chip on his shoulder. He's a top 20 player all-time, and most people agree on this (a few will argue top 10), but he acts like no one respects him. He focuses on his haters and it's annoying. He is not a basketball genius either. He's extremely skilled, but he doesn't know how to manage a team. He's no Russell, LeBron, Curry, Magic, Bird, etc. He's just not that guy, but he thinks he is. He wanted to pick a yes-man coach and build his own team.... twice now. This is not his job. His job is to be the on-floor swiss army scorer that elevates his team. He can play with anyone, in any system, and do whatever the team needs on offense. That is his super power. He's probably the most versatile scorer in league history, but that's not enough for him. Harden is a cheat code. He's great at learning what rule he can break. He's a good game manager. He has a ton of endurance to play with that high usage for years. He put up with a lot of crap in Houston IMO, and they didn't put quite enough around him, and so he took all the blame too. He also checks out mentally pretty easily, but I kind of understand it. I think history will always underrate him because he didn't win a chip, and so I kinda feel bad for him, but not really. The Nets front office abdicated responsibility to do their jobs to Durant and Kyrie. They got exactly what they deserved. Comment and liked for your algo.

Crazy to think this trio only played 16 games together…
and dropped 104 with 3 players alone

Great insight, thanks for offering this information! Thanks for watching!
This should have more views. Really good video.
Thank you, bless 🤞🏻
If Kyrie Irving did not get hurt James harden was not dealing with the hamstring issue they would have blew out the Bucks that's a FACT
Agreed
Fire Video
Harden is the biggest choke artist ever. Worse than Lebum
he does have some questionable moments
so random.

Great prediction on that one! Thanks for watching!
Next up. Why the Leonard, George clippers failed. Same reason. Traded great chemistry and culture for stars with no leadership skills.
I wished they won too! I really don't blame Kyrie Irving though
Agreed, not totally his fault
How do you not? Kyrie was the main reason Harden left and was the catalyst for everything failing.
