I have a question. When I tried to pre compose my each cube to combine the shape layer and logo place holder I am having very different results. The cubs turn 2d but stay in the exact location as where there were unlike yours, once I turn them 3D, they then move to a different location and lose all depth and the face of the cube still appears to be at an angle no matter what angle I look at it from. Do you know what could be causing this issue? I feel like I have followed the tutorial spot on up until this point and everything works right until where I am.
Update: I have gone through the video again and started over. I found 1 part I think I did wrong but now when I precompose the same part the cubes are still losing all depth. Cubes are also hiding each other. When I make the first cub it it just flat, when I make the 2nd cube it hides the 1st cube, when I make the 3rd cube it hides the 2nd cube and so on.
I am sorry you are having trouble with this one. Are you being sure that the correct "collapse tranformations" buttons are ticked? That was what I first thought of when reading your very first question.
@@motionbux1154 That was the issue I think. I fixed that and it seems to be working now. Thank you so much. I am very new to After Effects and did not even know that was a thing to be aware of. Thank you so much. Edit: I just went back so I could finish the tutorial with the information you gave me and you literlty said something about this in the video and somehow missed it te 10 times I watched it. Thank you again.
Try to right click on your composition, go to composition settings, then there should be a couple tabs near the top. You should see '3D Renderer'. I hope this helps!

I don't have cinema 4D button
