    • @ImpossibleScience
      @ImpossibleScience  4 года назад +1

      Well a full can is much heavier, but yes. If you want to create lift you need to have a change in air pressure. You would need to get it moving super fast and spinning... and at that point the effect would be minimal but to your point you are technically right. Look up Magnus Effect planes. Mind blowing!

    Can I clarify something. When the rubber band is longer then the cup will fly further right?

    • @ImpossibleScience
      @ImpossibleScience  4 года назад +3

      Well there are a couple parts to this because the rubber band stretches so does that mean longer? So let me break down the two main parts. Getting the cups to spin faster by winding it up tighter creates more lift, but in this case the forward motion (tension in the sling shot) is what creates the air moving over the cup that is being assisted by the rotation. So if you can increase either of those it should fly farther

    Hi impossible Science, I let my students conduct the experiment with two balloons. I and my students rote learning that a higher velocity of the air creates lower pressure and the opposite, a lower velocity of the air creates higher pressure. But I couldn't find any equation to prove it, even when I tried to use Bernoulli's principle. What I got is almost the opposite. So, could you show me any math equation that proves higher velocity of the air will be caused the pressure to lower? Thank you!

    So where is the part about the levitation

    • @ImpossibleScience
      @ImpossibleScience  4 года назад

      Magic is everything we don’t understand. If someone doesn’t understand lift they would probably call it magic. All of the levitation experiments from our museums use the action of rising or causing something to rise typically by means of supposed magical powers or in this case the Magnus Effect. Hope that clarifies how we integrate science with impossible topics!

      At 0:33 he says it’s an illusion. The science is about how could you really make a cup fly. Every episode is about going from fake to real through science
