Fantastic.....on the list of places to go and see the next time I visit Brazil. Still baffled by Brazilians that want to travel to other countries when they have such a paradise right out their back door. I get it, I do understand....but, having travelled to many countries around the globe....Brazil is still the best and has the most to offer. Other places have beauty, but unfortunately tourists have driven the prices up. Brazil is still the best.....for me.
Actually, its called the "Switzerland" of Brazil because the first colonizers were swiss immigrants from Fribourg, CH. They brought their traditions and arquitecture, hence the comparison related to that as well. They found the region to share similarities to the Alps region, it also has fresher temperatures, which eased the adaptation.
The first waterfall has strong water flow and looks very suitable for martial arts masters to practice martial arts there. If you hadn't kept mentioning it, it would be hard for me to believe that it's winter there now, and 30 degrees Celsius shouldn't be the temperature it should be in winter, haha. Nova Friburgo is beautiful and seems to have a pleasant climate, really similar to Switzerland. Looking forward to the next episode of Peru, thank you so much for sharing, super great job! 👍🥰🙏
One of the numerous delights of your videos is your music selection. You really nail it. So many channels are instant turn off because of their music selection. From how it fits the locale or scenery to how you blend it in and out of when you're talking so it doesn't drown you out, it's perfect.
Looks like another part of Brazil we’ll need to visit. When you get back to Brazil, can you visit the Fortaleza area? We will be heading there next year and would be nice to see where you would go.
I’ve got a chronic fear of flying, I literally cannot and will not fly but after binge watching your channel, I’ve actually gone ahead and booked airline tickets for Greece!I’ve realised that life’s too short to not travel! Thanks for inspiring me and possibly even saved my marriage lol. Regards from Aus 👍
Totally understand the phobia, I had it also, but so glad you made this decision! You probably already know, but flying is actually one of the safest forms of travel, much safer statistically than even driving your car! There might be a bump or two along the way which might make you a bit nervous but just remember that it is completely normal to have some turbulence, and completely safe also! Have fun!
@@eriklauta thank you for your advice and you’re absolutely right even though any bump I’ll feel will most likely petrify me lol. I’m hoping to conquer this fear once and for all and visit some awesome places!
I enjoyed seeing this interesting part of Brazil going into the lush back country and visiting places not usual to regular tourist destinations. This kind of travel is what I like and you picked a good area to explore. It's never a dull moment watching your videos and I look forward to seeing all of them.
24:42 That’s so cool! Your Brazil videos are my absolute favorite but I love all your content so I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Peru through your lens.
Sejam sempre bem vindos!
Hiya. Chris and Carol. Shame that the other trail was closed. Beautiful drone footage. Beautiful waterfall. Check you two out running up that hill. Lovely you had a quick dip. The cold water is so good for your skin. Nice views. On the cable car ride. Your food looked tasty. Thank you for the tour around. There is so much I have never seen before. Have a great weekend. Look forward to the next one.
Bonnie Brasil, the mountains are very like the Scottish highlands, loved the views from the cable car, the sculptures were amazing, liked the restaurant and shop. Thanks so much for sharing Chris and Carol, your videos are fantastic, all the best to you both! 👍👍🙏
Boa viagem amigos! E muito obrigado!
My family arrived in 1824 and went to Nova Friburgo, it was the first German family in the colonization plan of the emperor, Pastor Oswald Sauerbronn, the first Protestant cleric in the country.
Wow Switzerland without snow 🤔 you both picked the right time to be up there nice and piecful the weekend will be a madhouse lol🤓 the children running about 💕 you have really smashed that beautiful meal so cheap that meal of yours Chris would cost £30in a place called tomohawks were I live in the north east Caroline hit the jackpot with the accomodation again so cheap wonderful video lol you 2top movie ⭐ s anyway stay safe on your travels all the best John uk 😄
Excellent video. Just an hour or two from the classical beaches you something completely different and very beautiful. I am living i Fortaleza which is also sun and beach. Driving an hour or two inland the mountains are so beautiful. Bit no one will ho there 😊.
Hi Carol and Chris, my hubby and I have following your vlog for sometime now. My husband is Portuguese and I’m South African. We live in Switzerland, 50kms from Fribourg. You should come and visit in Winter when it’s snowing, it’s absolutely beautiful 🙂
Beautiful. Thanks so much! Wow, Peru. You'll both enjoy Peru, for sure! No need to mention any of the special spots as I know Carol will be on the search for the greatest of Peru. :) Great time of the year to enjoy it. ~
So beautiful. Delicious food, great views and those sculptures was amazing ☺ Really looking forward to see you in Peru. Exciting ☺ Take care you two ♥♥
Unfortunately it takes 3 months to get one in Brazil, it's not really possible for us to stay in one single place for 3 months with our current work making travel content. It is annoying because when I got my license in the US it only took me about 2 weeks, super easy and quick there but that was because I was working there at the time.
Amazing!!! I always wondered what did it look behind Rio since you see the same scenery of the city right at the coast, but the mountains are right behind it. Spectacular!!
This was really lovely! I’m guessing it never snows over there though 😅 OMG ❤PERU❤ since I was a very young my mom would put Peruvian/ Bolivia music on rainy days I used to day dream about Peru 🇵🇪 I’m working with my physio to get me strong enough to be able to go to Peru and to get cherry on the cake 🍰 Machu Picchu 😊 I am so excited about this you have no idea 🎉 Enjoy I cannot wait for next video now !!!!!👌🏼 Sabrina 🇫🇷🇬🇧
Its very rare but there has been some snow in the mountainous regions of rio before. But i think only near the peaks, not in the city area. Yes we didn't realize before planning our trip to peru just how hardcore it would be to travel around. The majority of the best places are at high altitude and require a lot of walking. Will be a fun adventure!
@@JumpingPlaces That’s very interesting 🏔️ I bet it looks very pretty with fresh snow picks too! As you said altitude can be challenging for most people but when you are struggling with ill health it can become too much very quickly and it becomes dangerous in my case so I have to be careful but it is for sure a real dream of mine to visit Peru 🇵🇪 I really hope you guys are coping ok and esp for you Chris I hope you are managing to keep your health issues at bay and able to enjoy this amazing country! Hopefully it is just daring like Nepalese assumption in the Himalayas Take good care of yourselves I hope you have a great time
You need to visit other cities in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. The Mountain Region of RJ has beautiful small cities, they are: Tranjano de Morais, Santa Maria Madalena, Carmo, Sumidouro (has the largest waterfall in Rio de Janeiro), Duas Barras, the American singer Leny Kravitz bought a beautiful farm in Duas Barras . The city of Sumidouro has the largest waterfall in Rio de Janeiro. You didn't visit Lumiar and São Pedro da Serra in Nova Friburgo. The Mountain Region is considered the safest region in Rio de Janeiro. When you return to Rio, also visit the city of Varre-Sai, the most Italian city in Rio de Janeiro and also the town of Raposo in Itaperuna in the Northwest Region of Rio de Janeior. There is the largest paradise of mineral waters in Rio de Janeiro.
I can't get a renewal because I got mine in the US. I would have to do it all over again from scratch which would take around 3 months in Brazil. We can't really stay in the same place for 3 months with our current job making travel content so unfortunately I can't get a license again :/. It's annoying because in the US it only took me around 2 weeks to get the license but it expired as it was tied to my US working visa which I dont have anymore
Interesting my brother in law grandfather was among those swiss, brought to nova Freiburg but they moved to South of Brazil because of better conditions and also other germanic groups was settled there, but I remember my mom talking about that when I was in my teens.
We figured it must have been from the ground because we were already pretty much at the peak of the mountain and there isn't any rain or snow. Not sure though.
Haha those Swiss chocolates cost 1/10th of what they'd cost in Switzerland!💸💸💸BTW I applaud your courage- you wouldn't have gotten me onto that scary cable car for any money in the world 😲! I'm looking forward to your Peruvian adventures- I absolutely love it there! The food 😋😋😋😋👍! The people! And the archaeology! And most of all, the scenery!! You'll have a great time, I'm certain..
