So from what I can tell, both Garry and Aibee [ Strangely, this is what I prefer calling her as since it seems cute for me ] died by either being killed by those Death Individuals or through natural cause (like illness, starvation or something of the sorts) and Marry, likely having suffered through her own hallucination and really not being human like the two, thinks they're still alive and decides to play with them forever without ever knowing that the two are dead...

Red Tiger My opinion only: Ib is not dead, You can see her rose beside her. Well Garry...... is not dead too because the Lady in Blue painting has his rose and yet it's still whole 😐

About the natural causes, time stopped at the gallery, so natural causes might not one of the reason.

Is it just me who absolutely adores the interactions between Mary and the other paintings/ sculptures of the gallery? The fact that the painting of the lips had to help out Mary with her pronunciation with the word trash just completely satisfied me.
Also with the ending "a paintings demise" Mary is forced to come back instead of leaving for the real world. I just find it cute that the gallery is basically one big happy family and Mary's basically in her rebellious teenage phase with her desire of wanting freedom and escaping.
That's the main reason why this is my favorite ending. It's just ..fun!

I never thought of it that way. It IS pretty amusing.
I don't think she comes back in "a paintings demise". It's implied that she dies alone, forever trapped in the dark gallery in that ending. The dark gallery doesn't want her back, it literally says "no going back, no going anywhere." It's an extremely shitty ending for mary, not cute at all. The gallery kills her and leaves her horribly alone in a pitch black room.
It makes me want to see more of the paintings' interactions
The funny thing is that this looked like a good ending until Mary started using Garry and Ib as toys

When garry found out Mary's secret, the ears heard and told the lips, in which they told mary. The dolls did that hoping to drive him so insane he forgot about it.
You know, this actually touching in a creepy, twisted way.
I REALLY want more information about Guertena. Mary is probably the most docile thing he's created in a way. She's like Pinochio. So she can only act human to an extent, living in an art gallery. I won't say she's outright evil. She was desperate to hold on to her friend(s) in any way she could. Even if she isnt human, that is very relatable. but how could Guertena even make these things come to life?

You have to see it in her eyes: she's a painting. Therefore, morality isn't something she knows of, specially if she doesn't know who are dead and who aren't.

I think this ending really got to me . It made me like tear up because only Mary lives while Garry & Ib died . But the other ending where Garry dies made me cry too .

Ib All Alone: Garry dies when Mary takes his rose and returns Ib's, so Ib gets revenge and burns Mary's painting, thus killing her, and returns to her world. With both Garry and Mary turned to paintings, she forgets everything.
Together, Forever: Garry dies, but before Ib can burn Mary(or she chooses not to) she returns home and forgets everything. However, Mary goes with her, and(though Ib does not notice anything unusual) lives with her forever as her sister. Creepy, right?
Welcome To The World Of Guertena: Do I have to explain? :3
The Painting's Demise: May not be exactly accurate, but- Mary escapes without Ib and Garry(?) and wanders through the gallery in the real world, calling and searching for a way out. But as her heart is painted, she can't leave, as paintings belong in galleries. The screen gets darker and darker as she calls, so I can't determine exactly what happens after that. I assume she recreates the world Ib was sent to in the gallery to bring others to it, maybe hoping for a better ending? Not sure
Forgotten Portrait: Similar to Ib All Alone, I think. I haven't gotten this one yet, so.. Just look it up? :33
Memory of a Fragment/Memory's Crannies: The second-best ending. One of the two better ones. Ib and Garry both escape, leaving Mary behind. Ib runs into Garry at the real gallery but remembers nothing. I don't like it because you get the feeling that everything Ib and Garry went through was for nothing, as she forgets it all anyway. I think the way to avoid this is to give Garry your handkerchief.
The Promise of Reunion: Best Ending. Ib and Garry escape the hellish gallery and return to the normal one. Ib finds Garry examining a sculpture and talks to him. Garry is about to say farewell and part ways with her, and although she never introduced herself, he says "Goodbye, Ib," then stops short, asking if that's really her name. When Ib says yes, Garry finds the handkerchief with her name on it in his pocket and remembers everything, promising to see her again someday, and departing.

Forgotten portrait is that you have to get the lighter and eat the candy after you burn Mary when you jump into the painting,Gary will be a painting called:Forgotten Potrait,the painting is in where the game started when Gary was standing in that position,last Ib keeps looking at the picture until Mum calls her,she keeps looking and looking at it,when mum calls her the second time,she followed her mum.

You're wrong. In 'Ib all alone' variations Ib always stays in the cursed gallery, by: -following Fake Mother instead of following Garry when they find the Fabricated World painting,
- following Fake Garry (when the real one is actually dead and Mary is burned) instead of jumping through the Fabricated World painting,
-stepping away from that painting instead of trying to jump through it (Garry must be dead, we do not have to burns Mary's painting),
-getting asleep forever, during a dream of her last birthday before she went to the art exhibit, on this bed-like thing in Dungeons [it's called 'Final Stage' or sth](v1.04).
Plus, there's a fanmade ending ''Sacrafice''. In shortcut, in this ending, we can safe both Garry and Mary by sacraficing Ib.(GreenEdition).
Together forever is literally the second best ending, then maybe memory crannies, and that is with taking this ending as them truly dying, my theory is that they become pretty much like Mary, and that they are just trapped there like Mary, Mary may be naive, but she is aware of death, which is why she wants to get rid of the lighter, it can kill her, and she thus knows of death, and why would she use that wording if they were dead, she wouldn't really have a reason to then

She's a very complex character I know, but that's because you haven't much time to get attached to her. Now you can with this new updates. In A Painting Demise or when you talk to her... Oh I'm feeling so terribly sorry for her :( soo sad that you can't save Garry, Ib AND Mary...

One of my favorite endings. Old Doll remix, saddening broken hearted Ib, Gary dead, the dolls and everything...
Its amazing. We asked for an ending with Ib and Gary and Mary together, and we did! Just a super sad yet amazing ending. Great video, awesome ending.

This is what I think about this ending.
Mary wanted to get out soo bad but she couldnt unless one of them stayed behind (Or died). Since Ib was here first friend she ever made she wanted Gary to stay behind. When Gary became like this Ib wanted to be by his side, since he was always by her side. Mary saw this and thought, even if Gary stays, Ib would still want to go. When she saw she didnt, she stayed with her because she didnt care if she went outside or not because all she wanted was a friend
That slow theme that plays makes it even more creepy
I hope there's a part 2 of this game. The good ending was The Promise of Reunion and it mentioned They'll see each other again! -I was thinking about the part 2 is that Ib is grown up and an artist (which she's inspired by Guertena)-
Or maybe the Forgotten Painting which garry is trapped inside a painting and ib can't remember she has been together inside the gallery place. But she keeps
remembering garry but cannot succeed to remember. She went to the Big painting Farbicated world and remembers a glimpse of him. She let herself in the painting and finding a way to save him.
I really don't know much about the story though but it's just a try :p
This is most likely the most creepiest ending to a video game yet. I actually like the idea that the game was re-vamped to be much creepy and darker than the original, and this was an interesting ending. The creator did a wonderful job of giving a chilling sensation to the audience.
A creepy theory comes to my mind...in a bad ending, Garry dies and becames a paint, right?
Well, in this ending, could Mary have killed Garry and Ib, hoping that both became paints (or another work of art), after dead? Maybe that "forever" means something like this...
Maybe that's why they're lying there with mostly intact flowers, but not moving.
She could be protecting the flowers from getting damaged, but deliberately letting them wilt, so Garry and Ib act sort of...wilted.
I wonder if they'd become paintings if she dried the flowers and put them in a box.
They'd be preserved that way.
This ending is even sadder and more disturbing that all the older endings. O.o

Nah it's a happy ending. They're probably resting. They need sleep after their awesome welcome party! Of course they'd be tired. What's the point of having 2 dead bodies around? They'd stink up the place. The only reason this is a 'bad ending' is because they can't go to the real world.

Actually, as long as you follow the requirements (boosting your doom level, boosting your bond level with Mary and keeping your bond level with Garry as low as possible) to get this ending, it doesn't matter which option you choose to address Garry. : )
Wish there was an ending like when Garry is dying and Ib stays with him. Like that Fan made ending. Where they become a beautiful painting togheter.
My friend was trying for a new ending and we got A Painting's Demise.
I'm glad she didn't let me watch this when this game still terrified me.

Ib is depressed to the point of not giving a fuck and becomes a vegetable.
BEST ENDING
Bittersweet ending. Garry got possessed, Ib lost the will to live, and Mary trapped them both in the painted world; resigning to the fact that she herself will never realize her dream of going outside. At the very least they can all live together from now on, or at least for a few minutes before the monsters destroy Ib and Garry.
No, the other paintings are like family to Mary, i don't think they would do that because it would make Mary sad

Mad Father is made by Sen and Ib is made by Kouri. The reason this particular track is similar in both games is because creators used the same website that offers free BG music.
This ending is actually my favorite. They all have a life together, and you know that Mary is a good friend. Instead of leaving she stayed with Garry and Ib saying that they were her friends. To me this is the best ending you could get.
Yeah I also think that they are both actually alive, just likely like Mary now, being like a painted being, which is why the flowers are wilted, they aren't like they were before, they are in ny opinion just really like Mary in this ending, not dead, just, painting beings, which is why Mary used the wording she did when she got rid of the lighter

It's called Old Doll (or Old Puppet) from the Carrie Careless Storybook and played in Mad Father as well. It's so sweeet~
From the looks of their roses lying around, being that a Blue Lady had Garry's and a Red Rose is wilted in front of Ib, I'd say yes.
As for why, who knows? One of those twisted ideas of thinking lifeless bodies can still be good friends I guess.

You need to make sure your affection point with Gary is as low as possible along with breaking as many things as possible.
Then: If your affection point with Mary is low, you get A painting's demise
or otherwise, this ending

You can kind of guess that they end up dying though, their roses being with the statues and paintings and all.
Yeah, the Lady in Blue is holding Garry's blue rose (maybe she's playing with it? Loves me Loves me not) and Ib's red rose is on the ground (maybe slowly withering)

Actually, there is. In one of the 'Ib all Alone' endings, you and Garry both make it to the portrait, Garry jumps in and then your 'mother' shows up. They both urge you to go with them. Depending on the choice (Go with mom or jump in painting w/ Garry) you get a different ending.
This ending was more of a creepy ending in my opinion.
OLD DOLL IN THE ENDING
Man it's been awhile since I seen this game only for it to appear in my recommendations
i dont know why but this ending made me happier than any of the others. I think its cuz Garry died thinking it was great to be there. Ib died making a girl happy for the first time in her life. And marry was obviesly just happy :)

Garry went insane because he was consumed by the doll, then Ib just broke and gave up. And by the time Mary got the party together, Garry and Ib were dead. Sounds like a happy ending, all right.
It's hard to say if Ib and Garry are dead or still catatonic at that point, but even if they were still alive they wouldn't have long to live anyway.
I though Mary didn't want them dead but she fed their roses to the lady in red and the lady in blue
They're not dead; both of their roses have most of their petals, so they're just unconscious... the Lady in Blue isn't even plucking off Garry's petals. Ib still has her rose.
I think Mary just wanted to keep them like that (unconscious) to keep them from running away.
You know, in case Garry ever snapped out of it, or if Ib regained the will to live. Or both.
Then they would leave. And Mary, well, she wouldn't like that... she wouldn't want to let both of her "friends" leave again...
The music for this ending is used in both Ib and Mad Father.

Just because they succumbed to the world of Guertena doesn't mean that Mary met them. Perhaps, by the time Mary would find these other people, they were already dolls themselves.
Well, take into context the music that was playing.
Perhaps they're not dead. Perhaps they've simply been turned into mere dolls. Mary's playthings. After all, Mary interacts with them as if they are alive yet it's clear that they're not moving. Similar to what a child would do with a doll. Maybe, in time, Ib and Garry will turn into a blue doll. Maybe all of those blue dolls are in fact other people who succumbed to this world before them.
Fuck I think I just partially blew my own mind.
I think the Ladies might have gotten to their roses... you can see the Lady in Blue holding Garry's..
If Mary, Ib, and Garry all lived in an ending, now THAT would be an ending worth seeing...

Garry was in the doll room from his point of view everything are dolls which is true. But for Ib everything was bunnies :/ she was hallucinating
I don't know why everyone hates Mary. I know her intentions aren't exactly nice, but she's lonely and all she wants is a friend. You'd be lonely too if you were a painting. I can't help but feel bad for her, and I really admire her as a character.
I know... But this ending is second only to together forever for me, because Mary ends up happy! (She's my favorite cause she's cute and UTTERLY INSANE!)
All but Mary are dead, Garry's rose is being torn to shreds by the Lady in Blue, and Ib's has no petals left on it. So everyone but Mary dies.

I think they are dead, or atleast unconsious because near the end, you can see how Garry's and Ib's rose pettels are thorn from the rose itself.
Yeah,but Mary tells Ib that she is her first friend ever,so that means that if other people stumbled over this world she hasn't met them,which is unlikely.
