The fiest/hound crosses were game catchers but struggled with the pack mentality..I still have one that I use as a "meat" dog🙂...very fun to just take out and catch stuff!
Scruffy is doing pretty good on becoming a bear hound, not much for the whole chase very good on the tree. I wish there was a way to send you some $$$, for taking this ol' feller to the chase's, Sure some mighty good hound music, that I haven't heard in a good while. Back in my day we had CB's radio's & man following the hounds, & just when I was getting out of the hound hunting game they started having tracking collars, but nothing like the collars you fellers have now..

I sure do enjoy the technology we have for the safety of the dogs, but I sure do think we are sort of spoiled. Although I would never turn a dog loose without our fancy garmin equipment, I sort of envy the lifestyle, the bond with the hounds and the mountains they turned the dogs loose on, and the knowledge the older generation had... Treeing bear with mountain feist is allittle odd lol but a.good odd.hows the scruff hound cross pups doing didn't you keep acouple of them

We rarely actually harvest a bear, but when we do it's typically for management purposes, and yes they are delicious 😋!
